Can't add much other than P-22s are not reliable. I had one and could not get it to function properly. Musicman hit the nail on the head about .22 ammo as well. The round might be deadly IF it bounces and all, but a larger center-fire round is going to have some impact behind it and a 9mm or .38 hollow point will do the trick. Take him to a range, let him shoot, then asks him what his life is worth. Before anyone blasts me, I have a Kel-Tec to a Kimber. Mine is worth $275-1000, depending on the weather, but they all work reliably for me.

Getting to know each other: What do you look like?

HAHAHAHA! Dang, burn. -
Dammit! All this time... I'll just have to go get a new gun I guess lol

I had this problem as well when I started carrying. I don't wear baggy clothes, but there is a way around it. An open cover shirt goes a long way, especially if you carry IWB. A t-shirt or polo type that is not TOO tight will also cover a gun IWB. Now, if you want to carry a large frame gun, then you may have to change your wardrobe. I know alot of people who have a "winter gun" and a "summer gun".

^^^ Good post EMTRN lol -
Perfectly legal as long as he is a TN resident. There is a spot on the 4473 that clearly states you may purchase a firearm as a gift. You are going to be the actual buyer and it's only a straw purchase if you KNOW that the person you are buying it for would not be able to otherwise purchase a firearm. No problems.

October Meet and Greet - No Shoot
Punisher84 replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in Events and Gatherings
I might make it...depends on the time. I'm supposed to head out to the a friend's house for the afternoon to shoot on her new range. If I can't make this one we should definitely do another one soon. I'm all for it! Anyone who ever wants to meet up on Mondays or Fridays and shoot at Range USA can always hit me up as well. -

^^^ Good lord Jake...That's creeping me out a bit. Maybe a smile next time... -
I was simply stating I'm not a big fan of Range master as I deal with alot of people who have been turned off by their customer service and other problems they have had. I don't bash them though, I just stated that I wasn't defending them or bashing them necessarily. I just felt the comments were a little strong considering the OP never really blamed anyone, just said it wasn't covered. I concur though, it's all good. See above, I don't see where Ugrey ever really blamed Range Master, he just stated the material wasn't covered. I agree there isn't always time to cover everything and I know firsthand how permit classes can run out of time to cover every possible question/scenario. If he had called Range Master or talked to the instructor after the class he could have answered his question true, but for whatever reason he didn't then he posed the question here. He never claimed anyone maliciously didn't cover the topic or was even at fault for not doing so, it just didn't get covered. I think it's another simple case of under-reading/mis understanding of text. No harm no foul anyone?

Oh God that was great ROFL. Shatner is awesome.

Todd, maybe you could back off the guy some? I have no love for RangeMaster and that is no secret, but I think they are doing the community at large a service that is necessary, especially in Shelby County. I don't understand why you decided to jump down this guy's throat. He wasn't attacking anyone or blaming them, he simply asked a question on a GUN FORUM relevant to GUNS. A gun forum that has a fair share of Instructors, lawyers, and range employees on it. Just my opinion, but I think it was uncalled for.

HAHA! It's like a family, we love each other, we just like to fight once in awhile.

Discretion is not cowardice by any means, my point is people that scream like it's just wrong to exercise a right because they don't agree with it. As usual I agree with alot you are saying. I just hate when people attack OC, just because it's something they don't do. It's no different than not voting against an Assault Weapons Ban just because they don't want an AR.
-
It will never cease to amaze me how divided gun owners truly are. I don't think anyone in this thread has agreed with another person fully. Chew on this... If the standard was to OC, but we COULD conceal and Chipperi was reaching for the aforementioned Fruit loops and his shirt came up over his gun and this situation ensued, how many here would be screaming "Well if you just Open Carried like everyone else does, you wouldn't have had this issue! You concealed carriers just hurt the cause, because only criminals conceal guns." You wanna bitch and moan about OC fine, but when was the last time your local gangbanger walked in with his Glock in a Galco. Does Joe Citizen know the difference? maybe not, but it might provoke some positive conversations instead of us running around like half-baked superheroes with our "ace in the hole". I prefer concealed carry sure, but if you want to keep losing rights, you need look no further than our own sheeple amongst the sheepdogs.

Clay's old lady gives me a serious... Speaking of Old Ladies, mine is addicted to this show. I'm loving it as well. Can't get enough. There's something about it and the chemistry of the characters that just really makes it fun to watch for me. Last week when they took the Aks out of the septic truck and they were screaming and gagging and laughing just reminds me of a bunch of goofy teenagers and friends doing something dumb. Laughed my butt off.

I can almost hear Tom screaming about carrying a BUG...

Confusiuon about "Castle Doctrine"
Punisher84 replied to wjh2657's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I don't know how I feel about taking a life over property. If someone grabs my stereo out of my car and takes off I'm gonna be really mad, but I don't think it's worth killing them over. Catch them and give them an attitude adjustment, sure. My problem is someone in my home forcibly, trying to get in my car or me out of it forcibly, or trying to take my wallet, valuables by force. I don't know their intentions. Here is this person threatening me by their words and/or actions, so what am I supposed to assume. What any reasonable person would assume. I agree with DaveTN when he says , but I am also not going to just assume that a man in black clothes holding a crowbar in my living room at 3 am with my splintered door behind him is just there to grab my TV. If he is and can get out with it before I get to say/do anything otherwise, lucky for him, but otherwise he better be on the floor hands spread and waiting for SCSD, if not he is gonna have a very bad night. -
Confusiuon about "Castle Doctrine"
Punisher84 replied to wjh2657's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
Come into my house forcibly and you're going out on a stretcher unless you turn and vacate immediately. That's plain and simple. Castle doctrine is pretty clear and unless there is some motive (as the previously mentioned case here in memphis) to the contrary, you're in good shape legally. Tn law has become pretty clear about what is justified and what you have to do to meet those requirements. The main thing is that you do not have to retreat if you are doing what you have a legal right to be doing. If someone comes in MY home by force, I'm going to take that one way and that is as a threat to mine and my family's lives. -
Saw 3.06 today. I got pretty excited. not pee myself excited, but almost rear end the lady in front of me excited...
-
Yea I can see that. I kinda like Mississippi law in the respect that your home, auto, or business counts without having to have a permit.
-
Well if we are gonna pick nits... My point is that under the law a person is protected in a dwelling under the castle doctrine. Any residence temporary or permanent would fall under that. If you're in a dwelling you're not carrying it anywhere, it's a single location. You could say you are storing it yes, but the point is you only need a permit to carry a gun. Not to have it in a dwelling, shooting range, or your business in TN.
-
+1 Any place where you contract overnight accommodations that are intended for such purpose becomes your legal temporary residence. Therefore the Castle Doctrine would apply.

There's an old joke similar that goes " I want you to kill all the (insert ethnic group here) and one clown." "Why the clown?" "See no one cares about the (same ethnic group)"
