Why some people shouldn't be police officers
Punisher84 replied to saintsfanbrian's topic in General Chat
I work with some good MPD cops as well. The only problem I have with this story is that without knowing that the guy was 100% an officer the choice was made to assume. This is a case of where if it was a Carry Permit Badge it only reinforces my theory that those things are only used for evil. -
Beef jerky and water. That's all I eat lol Seriously though, any of the MRE type meals or what I refer to as "magic pasta" type meals are good stock up items, but regular canned Chef Boyardees and Chunky soups could be great comfort foods.

+1 Sounds like typical road rage only bumped up by the fact that the other party flashed "a badge". Several security companies have badges that are similar to MPD, you can also order badges that are the same color and shape for anything you want online. Unless it was a cop in a car doing something stupid or a blatant abuse where you saw the badge clearly enough to identify the numbers on it, I'm gonna have to say the thread title is misleading. -
LOL. Well I'm blessed with in-laws that go "Lemme see your new gun!" I carry, my wife carries, most of our friends carry. my mom carries, most her family carries... You get the idea. My advice is carry it, conceal it, and be respectful, but if it comes up take the chance to explain things. You can't always tell, but I'd think your in-laws should be happy you are wanting to protect their sister Just my thoughts.

LEFT 4 DEAD-ZOMBERIFFIC!!! (PC and XBOX game)
Punisher84 replied to Magiccarpetrides's topic in General Chat
I guess I just don't have an addictive personality for the long term. I bought WoW last December when I got my new PC, played until May then quit. I play maybe a few hours a week. I enjoy it, but it's repetitive and I don't really care about having Tier 4 gear or whatever. I liked the Warcraft 3 storyline, so I wanted to play the new expansion. I'll play it, hit 80, then quit again lol. I have gamers ADD. It is sad though how people can get so addicted to it though. I have a buddy that has 2 accounts and will play on 2 computers so he can run his other characters through dungeons. -
Did your Instructor not cover this? That is probably one of the most debated issues in this state. That being said, ANY place that serves alcohol for on-site consumption is off limits. You can, however, carry in a liquor store.

Keeping your records and info is important! The purpose of a go bag though, is to be prepared for ANY situation. My survival bag in my car has enough to supply me comfortably should I have to ditch the car and walk home. If the earthquake ever does hit Memphis is rubble and I want to be ale to have what I need to survive in any conditions. Being prepared for only certain scenarios is not really being prepared.

Analogies I'm going to steal for 500 Alex! -
You can also get a "3 wick" candle from most outdoors stores. It comes in a little can and each wick will burn for 12 hours. In an enclosed space you get 36 hours of heat. If you folks have never heard of them you might want to check out Survivor Industries. http://www.survivorind.com/ They have pre-made kits or you can buy the stuff individually. I buy their waer packets, food bar, and cocoon sleeping bag and keep them in the glove box with a few other things in my Maxpedition gearslinger. It's not bug out, but I can survive. I also believe Range USA in Memphis sells SI products.

To me the 1911 is just a fine fighting pistol. It was good enough for Granddad and Dad, it's good enough for some on the most elite fighting forces in the United States military, and for some of the finest LE Departments. I like Glocks and I own an XD. It is truly personal preference, but the 1911 is the Granddaddy of semi-autos.

Your caps lock key broke? That aside, you could always try on-line. There are some good deals out there for RIA.

I've kinda built mine out of Basic training first aid, stuff I've picked up around the hospital, and just asking military buddies. I seperate First aid kits into 2 groups: Snivel kit- (The Target special) Band-aids, neosporin, tylenol, benadryl, alcohol pads, small gauze, etc Trauma Kit- Large gauze, israeli bandage, wound cleanser, ace bandages, small splints, etc. A snivel kit should be no bigger than a small pouch. I'd say slightly larger than a paperback book. A trauma kit will probably be a bit larger, but you should still be able to carry it easily, probably inside a backpack. Remember, only carry what you KNOW how to use. You could potentially do more damage trying to do something you saw on TV. Quikclot is good stuff, but it should be used as a last resort in granular form because it is a real mess to get out of a wound. Tampons work great to plug up a GSW. Alot of marines actually use that trick. My best friend is a Navy Corpsman. I'll see if he can write me up a good field guide, he did a year in Afghanistan under some pretty heavy crap, so i'll take his word on what works

The wife got me one for my birthday 2 years ago. I absolutely love it.

I agree that it makes sense to a degree. My problem is blanket immunity to anyone who volunteers. Not everyone in the military receives handgun training, quite a few never touch a rifle again until they go through deployment training. I say let military ID lower the drinking age to 18 and if you are under 21, in the military, and can show the equivalent of training in the military to that of the civilian sector, plus a sign-off from your CO or something you could get a handgun permit. I think that'd be plausible. Still wouldn't help them alot though when it comes to practice because I know a few ranges that you must be 21 to shoot without parent or legal guardian, no exceptions.

So if I re-enlist can I do whatever I want because I'm special? I like the sound of that.. Hey Mr. Legislator I'm friggin' special!

The wife and I both have Maxpedition Merlin folding backpacks full of gear. I keep it light, but I like to pack a little extra. Here are our kits: 2 types of firesarting devices-matches,flint stone Dust masks First aid kit (I've added a few things, enough to deal with minor trauma) Canteen Water purifying tablets 12 packets of water from Survival Industries 3 day food bar from S.I 2 space blankets 100' 550 cord tarp tent stakes work gloves nitrile gloves Surefire G2 flashlight w/ extra batteries rain suit crank radio flashlight There are a few other odds and ends in there, but that is purely a survival bag for the car. Extra ammo for my carry gun is usually in my smaller Maxpedition bag and we have an ammo go bag for the shotgun and AR in the house.

I don't think even all democrats want guns completely gone, they just want them regulated to death. Just like how alot of handgun owners say we don't need hi-cap mags or hunters say we don't need ARs or Aks, there is diversity in the thought process. I always figure they'll regulate us until we say no more.

LOL that's good. Where can I get some dam bait? -
I doubt you'll see an outright ban on carry. That's to much of a frontal assault. Liberals are all about the sneak attacks, like gay marriage, they'll come at you from the rear...
