  1. I've heard people say Hell and back. I don't think Hell has any idea what I would go through to save my wife. My username is very fitting with my personality on that issue.
  2. I just see a round that small and that fast tearing through. I guess it could depend on the person and what they were wearing, but I still wouldn't want to carry one. I'm kinda old school though too.
  3. I'm sorry, but that is probably one of the most naive comments I have ever heard. McCain and Bush are no saints for certain, but how do you explain people who voted for Obama now running out and buying guns, ammo, and getting carry permits? It's because after the dust settled, the joy of electing a "global president", and E! network stopped telling everyone who to vote for people saw who they elected to office. Now they are scared because they elected a halfwit snake oil salesman who just chants "Change" and has no experience or regard for his country. He is vastly different than Bush or McCain. He is even different than Clinton and that is a scary f'ing thought.
  4. I just think that it's all crap. I'm tired of funneling money this country doesn't have into people that will only mis-appropriate it. I'm sorry, but after awhile, you just have to let the kid learn to not touch the stove on it's own. Know what I mean Verne?
  5. This may just be the "weary of the legal system" side of me talking, but I would NOT carry a 5.7. The only people that carry it (I believe) are the Capitol Police with armor piercing rounds supposedly. I don't know that for sure, but anyway... The 5.7 is such a hyper little round your going to mostly shoot straight through someone. Most ranges won't allow it because it pierces the backstop (I know this firsthand). The 20 rd (I can hear it now) "assault style" magazine is another thing any stupid lawyer could use against you. The only main thing for me is over-penetration, it's just not a good defense round for expansion or use on a crowded street. There are also the issues with purely cosmetic things that shouldn't matter, but might if you had to use it. Especially if it went through and hit a civvy. There are so many other choices like .38, .357, 9mm, .40, and .45 that are cheaper guns, have many more holster options, are less bulky, and ammo is far more cheaper and readily available I just couldn't see using it for anything more than a have fun gun. Just my 2 bucks. (Adjusted for Obama inflation)
  6. I guess it just really depends on the shooter and the firearm. I use mine with a 1911, as do most of the guys I work with, and we've never had any problems. I also question the "sand in the mechanism" thing since I have heard they perform well in Iraq and Afghanistan.
  7. That's a good point.
  8. LOL He is a salty old dog. I always laugh when people say "cuss like a sailor", I always go..."My Drill Sergeant wasn't a sailor"

    First Date?

My wife shoots like that. I keep telling her she is flinching, she says "No. I'm aiming."
  12. It was an inside job and that doesn't count!
  13. LOVE the Obama one. "He sounds like a homeless person!!!" LOL What movie is that scene actually from?
  14. Believe me I didn't I like to ask for sources myself, I've seen alot of Instructor "experts" that will probably land half their classes in jail. I was going to post sources, but I was at work and short on time. Thanks again for Fallguy beating me to the punch.
  15. That's literally right down the street from hehehe
  16. Most local ranges (like Range USA and Rangemaster here in Memphis) offer advanced courses that teach you how to draw and fire, move and fire, hit multiple targets, shoot in low-light/no-light, shooting weak-handed, shooting while seated or prone, and even force-on-force training. You can always take more advanced classes from larger training schools if you want, but you just have to decide what is right for you and what you want to learn. Personally I think several of the schools and instructors on this forum are top notch and could provide you with great training.
  17. No, not like OJ. TN state law specifically states that if you are found to be justified in using deadly force then you are not liable in a civil suit. Yes you can be sued, but the case will be thrown out. The law was put in place to dissuade lawyers from taking up frivilous lawsuits against people defending their lives. The law also states you will be rewarded all reasonable loss of work and lawyer's fees that you incur should someone actually attempt to sue you. It's basically just a roadblock to keep you from going to civil court if you acted in self-defense and were cleared legally.
  18. There is a Holiday Inn Express at 385 and Hacks Cross which is very nice. I stayed there for my Bachelor party Ask them for the Punisher Suite. J/K
  19. I thought I fell somewhere between :rant:and
  20. There is alot of history with James Yeager and Tactical Response on this forum that you're obviously not enlightened to with only 2 posts so that is why BigPoppa said that the way he did. Himself and some of his instructors were on this forum for awhile and after James incited several arguments for no good reason and was called out on his EXTENSIVE history, he left. In case you are not familiar with James Yeager (there are 2 sides of course) he is often accused of trying to flee a firefight while several of his men were under heavy fire and subsequently killed. He couldn't get the car in gear, so he hid in a ditch. He later claimed he did what was right and that the other men were killed because they did not follow procedure. He returned home and created Tactical Response and has some pretty decent instructors working with him, but he is pretty much a joke to anyone who teaches serious combat techniques. Several people here have taken classes there, and while some of the instruction is good, I think you could find MANY better places to spend your money and get quality training. There is alot more to Yeager and if you do a search you can find out why most of us have a VERY low opinion of him.
  21. The problem is these guys got fat and rich off workers like my Grandfather and Uncles, then shipped jobs south and north of the border to keep THEIR individual profit margins healthy. I like American products and like my country carrying itself, but this bailout won't do anything but keep corporate executives rich and the cars will still be crap.
  22. Yea it's really not the individual agent so much as it is the administration.
  23. Here let me edit it for you... "Over-educated whackos, over-payed nutjobs and life-sucking vampires listened closely to the song's lyrics and decided the song was secular."
  24. Bug? Gnat? OOOOOOOO. *waves hatchet* Here it is!
  25. I keep saying though.... If you are not legally liable you are NOT liable in a civil suit. The case will be thrown out IF it's ever even heard.
