Many happy returns!

I'm just going by this guy because I've known him several years and he really knows his stuff. I mean anyone can be wrong or misunderstand law, but considering my source's background I'm gonna stick by him. I'm one of those that when it comes to law and the internet I'm always going to go by my most trusted sources in my life. Considering those sources are made up of lawyers, cops, federal agents, security guards, and state instructors I think I'm getting a well rounded view. As I said previously as well I have no desire to carry it off-duty so it's not an issue on my end. I did see Fallguy's TCA on defenses to carrying, so I don't know.

We always provide an instructional booklet with our classes. I don't think the state provides anything besides the test and class material to be covered and of course...THE VIDEO!

I think I'm patriotic in the sense that I want my country back to the way it was meant. OhShoot I'm slightly more on your side than Phantom's, but here is the way I see the Seperation of Church and State issue. 1. Nobody should be forced to believe another's views. The bible is all about making a choice. If you don't want to pray, then don't. Let schools have a moment of silence. Do with it as you please. 2. I went to a private school for 7 years, then went to a public school. There was no major shift in things for me either way. If you want to send your kid to a private school, then do so, but you can't really complain, so to speak, that you still have to pay taxes for the public system because it's kind of like driving a more expensive car. You are paying for the extras you want. If you want to do anything, then demand the public system step up it's game, but you can still talk to your kids about what the school wants to teach and let them make their own decisions on God and evolution. 3. If the ten commandments are outside the courthouse, then we have to have the Quran, etc. The overall view is that this country was meant to be free. It's never been perfect in it's execution, but that's because people suck. It means free from decisions being made for you. I am a Christian and I believe in prayer and God and Heaven, but it is every person's choice to make. I do not want your views forced on me and I will not force mine on you. The problem is people let personal experiences decide their path and that can either be great or devastating.

WTF?! LOL See above. OH! In the kitchen Meg?! Anyway I like my Kahr CW9. It's thin which is what hides the best if you have a small frame.

My wife had her information stolen through paypal. That's my reason, but I just hate paying through the internet period. That's my only addition. Carry on gentlemen.

I wouldn't mind breaking out the Bushmaster and doing it. I again have no idea where to start and I only drive a motorcycle and a sports car so I don't hunt much obviously.

Christmas, hunting season, and the weather mainly. 2.23 and 7.62X39 have been a little back ordered, but it's not anything sinister. Yet.

Tin foil hats are gone my friends. We are not gently drifting down creek anymore. We have rounded the bend and are careening straight towards the diarrhea waterfall. The government is not fighting for us, they are fighting against us. When the UN wants all guns gone and a world government, then we elect what people call "a global president", that gets me seriously worried. The problem is not the antis though who have no real power to physically strip us of our rights. They can only legislate and then let us decide how to react. The problem is people like 44M. Sorry dude, but it's true. The hunters and gun owners who say "You don't need that. Why do you need that? I don't mind a 3 day waiting period. Etc." These people are the balsa wood under a stone structure. They will relent and they will get on their knees. The reason is they don't understand what the 2nd amendment is about. This is why it's important for gun owners to see all aspects and sides. You cannot fight for a cause while arguing about parts of it and expect to prevail. We will fight as one or we will perish as many. People should not be afraid of their Governments, Governments should be afraid of their People. That is what the 2nd amendment is about.

LOL Yea anything you carry in an on duty capacity you have to be trained to use. Basically covering use of the item, force continuum, etc. It's all liability crap. If somebody wants to sue the department it's much easier to make a case for negligence if the officer wasn't trained. Plus the State requires it. Pepper spray, Impact Weapon, and Stun device are items all Police and Security personnel have to be trained on if they are going to carry them in TN. Which means getting sprayed and tased yourself and then beating on an instructor and bags with a stick.

Wow. Really? That kinda defeats the purpose, marginal as said prupose is.

I'll say welcome to the board and then I'll say this... If you can't pass the written test or shooting test in the State of TN permit class there is a really nice section of this board that, after 50 posts, you can sell your guns in. It's really easy don't sweat it.

Transporting Handgun through Illinois.
Punisher84 replied to wjh2657's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
I can't find any proof of that. Neither handgunlaw.us or the state website show anything about being able to carry a firearm in WI. Handgunlaw.us has it as right denied. I also remember just a year ago Massad Ayoob talking about the NRA fighting to get carry up there and it was almost a sure thing until some of the legislators went turn-coat back to Doyle. -
I didn't know G'town did video. I thought they had the picture snap. I've seen the flashbulb of doom go off on several people at Farmington and Germantown Road. Which oddly enough is right by the police station lol I'm with Jack and Abominable on this one though. I've never gotten a red light ticket and I think the cameras suck. People still run them, it's not stopping anything. It's an easy way to make the budget.

Just an update. I talked to a few people since I lasted posted here and I'm still getting a no-go on carrying a collapsible baton or anything similar off-duty. The reason I'm getting is the classes certify you for a duty capacity. Same as you can't carry your handgun off-duty if you don't have your permit. You can carry it to and from, but not into Target, Wal-Mart, etc. There is no class for pepper spray as a civilian, but there is for a guard. There is no class for baton for a civilian, but there is for a guard. The only difference is you can't carry a baton as a civilian. This is coming from a State Instructor and active duty LEO that's been doing this for about 15 years.

I knew you'd like that.

I'm waiting for this thread to go away for awhile and Mike not to post anywhere and then 2 weeks later... Day 13: The chipmunks scream in the night. They took the dog yesterday and we are running out of food. They have killed the mailman and taken the second hall. All I hear are their cries in the night...They are coming. If it gets to that EMTRN, Canyn, and DB and I can run up there with extra shotshells.
