I'll work to change the laws, but as someone who hopes to be a state certified permit and Guard instructor in the next year or two I won't advocate breaking the law. That is an individual choice, but ur playing not 1, but 2 odds. Will there be a SHTF situation and if I shoot will I go to jail?

Once again to bad ASP batons aren't civilian legal for carry. I know this has been hotly debated lately, but to the OP I would look seriously into the laws about carrying an expandable baton before even thinking about it as an option. There is merely a defense to carrying a baton, but nowhere does it say it is legal to do so. I'd stick to Pepper spray or a taser for non-lethal.

I remember reading that when you posted it. This is why I hate legal speak. It's all written to basically say "Whatever the dude in the robes thinks." I've had people here tell me one thing, then I've had lawyers, Cops,trainers, etc tell me another. The truth is I don't think anybody really knows and you just see what happens to you individually if you're in that situation. That being said I'm not carrying my baton off-duty and I'm not taking my gun in a bar/restaurant. I'll carry pepper spray, continue to train martial arts, and avoid bad situations and pray.

From what I understood that defense was usable as kind of an ace in the hole before the new laws went into effect. There was a situation here in memphis a few years ago where an ex-con shot a home intruder. His gun was confiscated due to the fact that he shouldn't have had one, but he wasn't charged due to that defense. Now, it seems you can't claim that defense any longer.

I always like knowing different styles because you can adapt and train to use whatever. I've seen some guys that were awesome at their own forms get massacred by other forms because they couldn't adapt to that style. I've done Tae-Kwon-Do mainly, but I've sampled in Aikido, Jujitsu, and I've had a few Krav Maga techniques demonstrated to me.

No they passed the Castle Doctrine laws. Fallguy and I argued over this for about 20 pages back in the day over what the new laws said about that defense. The terminology is "Notwithstanding 39-17-1322..." Everyone I have talked to says this means that defense is no longer available now under the new laws that say you CANNOT be committing a criminal act and claim self-defense. Carrying in a prohibited location would be a criminal offense. That doesn't mean you couldn't make a case to a jury, but that defense is not an ace in the hole either.

I've got a pair of 5.11 boots that are comfortable, but the lining is already tearing up in them. The outside is fine though. 5.11 has been having some quality issues lately. I've lost buttons on shirts, belt loops on pants, and now lining in boots. I'm not that hard on my stuff either. I've been thinking about trying out some more Rocky brand boots. They are pretty durable.

As soon as they are back in stock I'll have the Tactical. I'm considering getting the two tone if the parkerized tactical doesn't come in soon.

I think Hero Gear has encountered his share of tactical/assault gear.

You know as much ninja crap as I'll get for this *stares at Canynracer* I did take several years of martial arts weapons training when I use to do tournaments in TN regularly. Bo staff is a good one to learn because basically anything shaped like a staff is now a weapon to you. If it gets down to it I can whoop ass with a mop handle.

He was towards the end. He'd get drunk and steal the zamboni. I feel like that alot here in Memphis. There are places I have to go that are just awful and when I'm there I wish I could carry my AR.
