She is what I refer to as a conservative Democrat. She did not vote for Obama or any candidate as she had not registered yet when she moved here from Iowa, but she did support Obama. It brought up several interesting discussions. She liked him for his views on education, healthcare, etc. I explained I did not like him because he was a socialist, a hardcore liberal, anti- small business, a gun grabber, and just for a final stick in my craw, a cocky so and so. Steelharp, he may be a friend and that's cool. We all have different views, but to make your 4th post on a gun forum a giant I heart Obama sticker, is not gonna make alot of friends. Surely that was an understood. Course, I don't care who likes me. Maybe that's why Mike.357 and I get along.

You're talking about 39-17-1322. After a week long thread and input from several different reputable sources I'd say that defense is up in the air. At this point it really falls on YOU to decide whether or not the consequence is worth it to you. If you're a judged by 12, than carried by six kinda guy then your answer is clear. If you are a law abider who carries a gun and chooses to be a bit more cautious then it may not be as clear cut.

The whole story is priceless, but the thing I will always laugh at with my Sgt. at work is a line similar to the above quote.We had an incident at work and the local PD came to file the arrest report and transport. I work Hospital Security, for those that don't know. It was some new officer that had just transferred in to our precinct, the rest of the guys know us and know that we strive to be a bit more professional and aren't just lazy guards. Anyway, new dude made a snide comment about us arresting the guy for a minor infraction ( he was Drunk and Disorderly and tried to hit a nurse) and said "You guys not have anything else to do tonight?" To which my Sgt. (a 25 year veteran Lt. of the Federal Bureau of Prisons, SORT team member, VP of the local FOP and who also served several years in New Orleans as a Deputy Sheriff) replied "Not really. Just the arrest and reminding you to snap your holster." The dude looked like he was gonna come unglued. Even the suspect laughed. Anyway sorry for the hijack, just reminded me of why I like my old Sarge.
