I have tried a method that works fairly well for me that is similar, but not cross draw. I place my gun at about 5 o'clock so it's behind the hip, but not on the spine. The sights face the small of my back. I draw hand against my back, draw up and rotate out and away from my body. Works very well.

I was fixing something for my Mom and I got a screwdriver out of his toolbox. I left the lid open and walked away, then I turned around and closed it. He always hated his tools being out of order. I always feel a bit odd posting this type of thread, but I've come to find a sense of solace on this board and the way I feel about the people here. That being said, I just got a call from my Mom telling me my Grandfather is passing away. I'm going to see him as soon as I can get out of here (at work). I don't have much family so after this it's pretty much just me and my Mom and my wife. My Granddad was my father figure growing up and we have always been extremely close. I've come to hold alot of my friends as close as family and, in a way, that includes many of you here. I'm kinda rambling and obviously this is a little hard for me, but I wanted to just ask you guys to offer up some prayers. I just want him to go peacefully and to get a chance to tell him that I love him and that everything he taught me I will never forget.

I'm not LEO either. I'm just Campus Security. They just let us do alot more, because we do protective custody of mental patients, criminals until they are properly transferred. Usually have an LEO with us if it's a convict, but psych patients are our problem until they go elsewhere.

Take a look at Galco. Some of their stuff is around 100 bucks, but they have great options. I will only use Galco, Don Hume, or Safariland. These are the top 3 IMHO. There are better custom holster makers, but I don't have the patience to wait 6 months for a Milt Sparks.

As soon as I get the extra cash I'm gonna pick up another Taurus .38 snubbie, but I want it to be an airweight hammerless. Carry it as a BUG on my ankle or as a primary during the summer when it's blazing hot. I subscribe to the Max Payne carry method. Unload primary weapon at target, drop to floor, fire 5 shots from snubbie (while still in the ankle holster) to finish the job.

Well alot of citizens helped get the bills passed to make it illegal for the government to confiscate your firearms in an emergency. They voiced their opinions against re-instituting the AWB during the Bush years. The difference between here and those other places you mention is that this country views firearms for defense very, very seriously. Out of all the amendments the Founding Fathers put firearms second only to Freedom of Speech. That's an important thing to look at. We share freedoms here that those other countries have never dreamed of and there are more people here that would fight for those freedoms because they are so precious to us.
