  1. You know what I give. I understand the topic, I really do. I also understand the point of the thread and it's not a fact finding mission. It's an exercise in patting yourself on the back to feel good about your choice mode of carrying your firearm. You're not going to get the "facts" you're looking for and you damn well know it, because they don't exist in the manner you would like them to. If they did you'd have found them in one quick search. You guys can get all hung up on that word "facts" all day, but the point most of us have been trying to hammer in your heads is that "facts" can be dismissed to formulate or keep your own OPINIONS. I know you can't accept that, that's fine. The truly hilarious thing about this is that I'm not even saying you guys are wrong for open carrying. Hell, I do it from time to time. I just don't understand the obsession with these debates. 9 vs 45, glock vs 1911, OC vs CC, for ****'s sake why can't we just focus on important **** like shooting and carrying the god damn gun? Why does it always have to be "**** YOU I'M RIGHT!!!" It's mind numbing. It's like children talking. In the words of Rooster Cogburn "I BOW OUT!"
  2. I posted those in response to this... I don't think anything different has ever been said. That was my point. Honestly, at this point, I imagine even if someone on the CC side of this debate found proof they probably wouldn't share it just out of spite for the insane circle jerk circus these threads are becoming.
  3. Did you read the various threads I posted? Tell me how those threads are vastly different. Do you truly believe that in the history of this topic no one has ever said "Show me proof!"? How do you think these threads go on for 30 pages?
  4. And I say again I just don't think you grasp the overall concept of it. Let me give you a hypothetical and just stay with me ok? If I came in here and posted 2 links that both stated something to the effect of "when arrested the robber told police he shot the man because he saw he had a gun and knew he would be a threat"would you have said "OK. Wow thank you for the proof. I'm going to completely reconsider my OPINION on open carry." OR would you have said "OK 2 incidents in the history of open carry. I still don't see where it just happens enough to worry about."? My point is even with facts that it HAS happened or COULD happen there are arguments that make sense on both sides of the issue and it boils down to YOUR PERSONAL OPINION on what is best for you. The only reason this becomes a debate is because people want to be right and think their way is best.
  5. I don't think I'd be calling anyone out here. You're all in an uproar because this isn't going the way you wanted. Life sucks like that sometimes. You need to figure out that people are going to hold different opinions on the subject. You don't seem to grasp the basic concept of CHOICE. You're on this mission for someone to show you exactly what you have in your head that you will accept for proof and in the meantime, are completely brushing off many valid points and responses. Why is it so important to you? It's legal for you to open carry, there is even a whole forum dedicated to open carry. Why can't you just be happy that you live in a state that allows you to CHOOSE your method of carry? Who cares what people in internet land think? It's not affecting YOUR CHOICE.
  6. I typed "does open carry make you a target" in Google and got... The "Open carry makes you a target" argument? Has open carry ever made you a target? Open Carry: Yes or No? | Gun Digest - The World's Foremost Gun Information Authority Open carry (good or bad) - TheFiringLine Forums And here's a couple from TGO! http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/newsworthy-reports/28512-open-carry-story.html http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/8505-open-carry-bad-idea.html http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/handgun-carry-self-defense/45479-open-carry-opinions.html Now I think several of these fit the bill. What say you all?
  7. Nope. Not confused. It's all been covered. I have had this same conversation before. Most here have.
  8. I think Strick kinda nailed it. Tactical gear is fine if you're gonna use it for a purpose. If you're wearing it just to look cool at the range or on YouTube...you just suck. I have various items that are "tactical", but mostly I use them for either better gear at work or little additions to my AR. I don't have tac pants with a tactical pocket with it's own tactical pocket or anything.
  9. Welcome to the interwebs! The place where it can't just be your business, because by God, someone else wants answers and they know they're right! lol

    Tipping.

+100 Too many people don't report good service. I guess, in a way, it's sad we should have to. But, nowadays I think the bare minimum is so common, it's nice when a server goes all out. I always tell their manager if they have done an excellent job.
  11. You know the funny thing about these threads is that I read back over them and I laugh at most of the crap that gets posted in these little back and forths and how petty it is, but then we all end up doing it over again. Ah the internet lol
  12. You cannot violate rights that one does not possess. If I walk into your home and call you an idiot and tell you I sell drugs would you let me stay? If you would, kudos. I'm sure Jesus would be proud of you, but you do not have to. Why? because it is your private property and you get to choose what is said there. Furthermore, the OP violated the rules of the forum that we all abide by. Allow me to clue you in on something, this forum is watched and read by people who love to take things out of context. Now what example does that set if the mods allow someone who has advocated breaking the law to stay on the forum, when the rest of us obey the law. You talk about values, but I don't think you grasp the concept here. You are either trolling or, in my opinion, an inexperienced youth who is talking of things he doesn't really understand.

    Tipping.

I'm a very picky tipper. I base it on many factors though. I read an article a few years back about when to tip and how much. The general consensus for "food" industry stuff was on a scale from 5-20%. The idea that a small tip was an indicator of poor service and that anything over 20 was showboating. I do tip people that I feel go beyond the basic nature of their job. When my washer was delivered and they removed the old one the 2 kids that did it were quick, polite, and very professional. They got 10 bucks each.
  14. You're killing me dude. Reading not hard. What I'm stating as fact is simply if no one knows you have something there's not a likelihood they will think about taking it, correct? Everything else about this debate IS opinion. Also, I never said I exclusively CC did I? I'm in the middle on the whole debate, but I'm really tired of the same rehashed threads and "I'm right because I think I am" attitude. I can't recall a single instance where someone was specifically targeted and I assume you know that. Even when Creeky posted what he did you waved it off. Somehow I doubt you would accept a 9/11 commission report sized book giving evidence to the contrary of your opinion. As for the vast times this has been covered, I'm on my phone at the moment, but when I get to it I'll type "Open Carry debate" into google and post the first 100 links that pop up from every gun forum on earth.
  15. Can't wait. Loved the first season.
  16. Boy, you have got alot to learn. This isn't a public forum. This is David's little Internet house and he, and his representatives, decide what is to be said in the virtual living room. I've been here a long time and I can't recall anyone being banned just for disagreeing with a mod. You seem to have faster fingers than you have the ability for thought, poolee.
  17. I never said criminals were rational. I said a rational mind could draw the link. IE people who carry.
  18. It's not a rumor. It's an opinion. It's based on a "What if" scenario. You cannot argue the simple fact that by showing your gun there is at least a chance it could happen. That chance may be insanely small, but if no one knows you have it you can't really be targeted for that purpose can you? You've also been on this forum since 2008. Are you really going to tell me you've NEVER seen this brought up?
  19. You know what I've never gotten about this whole idiotic debate? Cops OC. Most citizens CC. Cops are obviously in a different boat than the average person, but criminals still try to take their guns, kill them, etc. I would think a rational mind could understand how someone could draw the link there. Im not against OC, but I know if I were a criminal, the obvious threats are going first. With enough vigor to be an example to anyone else. But that's me. I know criminals are more compassionate.
  20. Sigh. Hasn't this been covered to death? Just let it go already. Why is it so important to prove everyone wrong? It's an OPINION.
  21. Actually that's the problem. No offense but it's the business exec older set people who have no clue what's going on outside of their billion dollar box who choose these people and leave everyone going "WTF?" The Black Eyed Peas are still around, but they aren't exactly at the height of their popularity right now. Christina is a has been. They should have just had the girl from Glee sing both.
