  1. Glad you're stuff ran good Uker! That's always good to hear.
  2. Smells like Tactical. MMMMM tactical.
  3. Oh zing. What's next? Gonna yell "I know you are, but what am I." and tell me to get off your jungle gym? LOL I thought you were leaving anyway since we are all to dumb to possibly debate with the mastery that is your mind?
  4. Due to some stuff I did today with a few trainer friends it got me thinking about the way I train and why I train. We were all pretty much just hanging out shooting and decided to work out some drills most of us haven't shot before. I shot from alot of different positions, dealt with some odd malfunctions, and utilized things that I wouldn't normally think of. Let me give an example: During a drill where we were doing ground work I rolled onto my weak side (left) arm and pinned it accidentally. I went to fire and noticed my mag hadn't seated all the way on the reload. I immediately slammed my mag down onto my inner leg and got "the click" and fired my rounds. Reason I bring this up is for those of you that don't ever think you'd attend a "high speed" class because of what it seems it might be I think you should reconsider. One thing today made me think about is you could very easily find yourself in a prone, supine, seated, or leaning position in a gunfight. It may even give you a tactical advantage for cover, etc. By accidentally pinning my weak arm and being under stress I immediately figured out a way to seat my mag, if my arm was disabled this would have saved my life. Just kind of my take because I know alot of classes you see people wearing alot of "tactical" clothing and they may look either like wanna-bes or SWAT guys and you think "That's not for me", but advanced training really works and you can apply it to what YOU need. Anyway I had alot of fun doing what I did today and got to be in the company of great people while doing it. So if you're thinking about taking any advanced classes from one of the great Instructors/Schools here on TGO or wherever I think you should!
  5. Hey I got a raise! Yea I gotcha now lol As said above, the motion is forward to the slide to release or the "fat" part of the button if you will.
  6. I'm not 100 percent sure I understand the question, but the lock release is on the side of the holster. The mechanism that catches is inside and it catches on the trigger guard of the firearm.
  7. I would like to report that about 6 of us used Serpa holsters today with 1911s, glocks, and an XD for several complicated drills and no one shot anything but the target.
  8. HUH?!! Where did you get that info?
  9. Welcome to TGO! Don't forget to check out our Motorcycle Enthusiast sub-group. Alot of us here share that same passion.
  10. I have been reall happy with my Bushmaster. Rock River Arms does make a great rifle, but they are expensive. You can get a good quality AR from Bushmaster, Stagarms, DPMS, etc. Just depends on what you want. I like more of an M-4 battle rifle type in an AR and that seems to be the hot ticket item right now too so you might have a better chance finding an A2 with fixed stock model type rifle.
  11. It's not beating him up. We're not berating him, just reinforcing if you will. After seeing this brought up time and time and time and time again it gets old. People need to learn how to search out information.
  12. I think they have had these things long enough. How many mass shootings have there been in the past 20,30 years? I think you can find whatever you're looking for in all this. We have a liberal president, a Democrat controlled congress, a bunch of gun grabbers right at the top of the food chain, etc. Will they use all this? Of course. It doesn't mean it's gonna tip the iceberg anymore. People kill each other, they been doing it for a long time and they aren't gonna stop. One day these bleeding hearts will realize that the world doesn't get better by holding hands and singing, it gets better by removing the bad elements.
  13. Well just for that little gem I like you already! Welcome to TGO. It's not how many guns you own that matters, it's how you shoot them.
  14. I think the mag in a knife pouch idea has always been a great one for somebody who wears a tuckable holster.
  15. I'm always amazed at the amount of operators in Iraq and Afghanistan, countless soldiers and Marines, and LE officers that have no issue with the Blackhawk rigs, but they are deemed dangerous by civilian instructors because some idiot couldn't keep their booger hook off the bang switch. Wait...what's that sound? Oh nevermind, it's just the excuse police.
  16. Ain't that always the way?
  17. I typed in "gun sticker car break in" and "gun sticker car break in statistics". All I got was pages of this same question on Yahho Answers, The Firing Line, etc. I think honestly it's just another gun myth that doesn't really hurt anyone, but is handed off as truth by those that disagree with it. Here in Memphis there are tons of people that have Rangemaster stickers, Range USA stickers, NRA stickers, and various gun manufacturer decals and I can't recall ever hearing of any trends in break-ins or anyone being targeted because of it. It rolls right back to OC. It's a choice you make for you, but a right we should all support, because if we don't support each other no one else will.
  18. I've been thinking about one. Might have to look into it more now.
  19. That is true.
  20. I guess I could spell it out for you like this. There are at least 20 threads about Open V. Concealed carry, 9mm V. 45, Informing LEO V. Not informing LEO, etc Yea, bringing up Rabbi is generally not a great thing either. I think the general consensus is once someone is banned we try to not bring them up continually. There are alot of well-earned hard feelings about that guy around here.
  21. I think Mediabuster has probably got to be the biggest idiot I've ever seen on here and yes that includes Kwik.
  22. Now what would be REALLY funny is if there was a really hot girl that worked the front counter of the SCREWME division and had such acronym emblazoned on her shirt. That joke just writes itself. hehehehe
  23. I'm gonna have to disagree with you there. I've been told that forever and I honestly don't think it matters one way or the other. The most common vehicles broken into where I work are Fords and just about anything with a plastic lock housing. The exception is if they see something they really want they will break out the glass. I have yet to see evidence that a sticker increases your chances of having your car broken into. I'm not saying there aren't cases where it has happened, but I don't think it ups your chances by an insane amount either. As far as it bringing attention to a LEO that you may be armed, it was my understanding that you always approach a suspect as though they were potentially armed or a threat to you.
