Judge Revives Tennessee Gun Rights' Lawsuit
Punisher84 replied to MikePapa1's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Well I know you've been here sine 08, but since it seems you've only recently decided to become a mini-kwik yourself I'll remind you how many of us that post here actively had to put up with Lenny and his trolling antics. Dude is a douche. Plain and simple. -
Judge Revives Tennessee Gun Rights' Lawsuit

Don't really get what you mean by that. Unless you mean the people that disagree with ol Lenny on actions, not necessarily principle. I'd love to see some things change with our laws, but I don't think walking around like an idiot and being a trouble making douche is the way to get that done. If it works fine, but I'll never say he did the right thing or support his actions. -

F that. I remember being a guinea pig for sim rounds. That was bad enough. -
Those are range rules. When I worked for a range here the rule was you could take it up to 6 months before your 21st birthday, but you had to be 21 to shoot a gun on the range alone, so you needed to have a parent take the class with you. I used to recommend people take it about 4-5 months before their birthday, at that age, because it left a little overlap to get to the DMV. Be a bummer to have your certificate expire on your birthday and you not be able to go that day.

What would you do in a situation like this?

Bingo. -
I don't usually OC, but I don't always go to great lengths to conceal either. Just kinda depends on what I'm doing and where I'll be that day. Usually when I'm on my bike I carry under my vest only and I do get a chuckle out of people who see me all decked out and carrying a gun. I'm sure they all think I'm an outlaw lol I wonder if they'd feel different if they knew that I was in a law enforcement/military MC? People kill me.

All good and well. My wife as well, but what about a college age daughter not able to carry? What if your wife was caught off guard and knocked unconscious? There are hypotheticals on both sides. Agreed on that. -
Yea. I'm a paragraph kinda guy myself. I'd like to hear Carter's long history of weapon retention skills, but he probably doesn't need them, being a concealed guy and all.

That's a little different. No one here is saying be a cowboy regardless. Everyone's health, personal ability, etc come into play. Keep in mind while we are debating the extreme of potentially shooting someone, some of us may never need to draw. We may do plenty with our hands. My point in these arguments has always been "do something". Don't just walk away. I'll be honest I despise people that say they don't get involved because they have a family to protect. Looking out for ourselves only is why this country has gone to ****. If your wife or daughter was being raped and beaten to death in an alley would you really want to find out later that someone just walked by and did nothing? You have heard of Kitty Genovese correct? People are so afraid to intervene out of fear for their own livelihood and it just gives criminals more and more power. -

These arguments hold no weight. Wouldn't you be close enough to hear shots? Wouldn't you see a child? This is fantasy land stuff man. -

You mean you aren't going to get anyone to agree with you. I see objective reasoning all over this thread. We all have to live with our choices. If you can hear a woman scream for help and walk away then that's on your conscience. -

I'm not a police officer. Just a campus security officer. If I screw up, it's my ass. I don't have any immunity. That was my whole point. Granted it is still a little different because I'm being called to the incident, but the judgement still comes into play. I didn't get a permit to protect everyone on the street, but I did go in to my career field to protect others. It's just an instinct for me. Maybe someday that will be my downfall, but I won't just walk away and turn my head if I believe someone truly needs my help. If my wife were in need of help I would hope someone would step up. We've become slaves to our own irrational fears. That is what is wrong with our society. "We must all fear evil men. But what we must fear most is the indifference of GOOD men." -

Greg I get what you are saying and in a way I agree. I'm not an Internet bad ass and I don't want to end up shooting the wrong person, but you are tipping the paranoid end of the spectrum. You know how many times I've gone to a disturbance or fight call with barely any information and had to decide on the spot how to handle it? You use reasonable judgement. I get what you are trying to argue, but your analogies are asinine. Let me give you an example a trainer gave to me once. Others here know it as well. This is a true story apparently. A guy sees a man with a woman by the throat, holding a bloody knife in an alley. The guy fires, killing the man with the knife. Hero right? Well, turns out the female was a crazy ex and had stabbed the guy seconds before he grabbed her and pulled the knife out of his own body. The shooter in that case was not charged. He was sued by the deceased's family. Don't remember if they won or not. Point is you do need to know the facts, but to say you should never intervene because it could be some fantastical movie where a Halloween mask wearing DEA agent is tasering a female drug kingpin is just silly. -
I got all those beat, but I'm not gonna tell how or why lol Let's just say I pulled my "really awesome officer" card the other day.

Said it nicer than I would have. Because this little nugget of wisdom pissed me off.

Whoa whoa whoa. Hold the phone there son. Are you serious? I mean are you really gonna sit there and post that? Specifics are one thing, but you have ducked and dodged this whole thread about "proof this" and "proof that" and "opinions". Now, you have an article where someone was specifically TARGETED AND ATTACKED simply because someone saw a gun. Now I don't know what fantasy land you live in, but according to what I've arrested people for ASSAULT is an actual crime! Who knew right?! You are absolutely, without a doubt, one of the most full of **** trolls I've seen here.

I swear that's the biggest reason I do it. Some days, especially on the bike, it's just easier to throw on a t-shirt and put the Kimber in the Serpa and go.

You have to look at it from what a reasonable person would think too. How many cops do undercover busts by themselves wearing Halloween masks and tasering someone? I've got many friends in OCU and I've never seen it done that way. -

That is probably the funniest thing I've seen in awhile. LMFAO oh **** my sides. Damn lol

I don't think you're out of line Mike. Just wound up lol Like others have said, just don't respond. I think it's in our nature to want to get something for a great price, but haggling needs to be done right. If you put up a Taurus 1911 for a Wilson Combat price, I'm not going to even reply. You'll figure it out eventually. Now if you put that Taurus up for retail and say "Firm" then I might send you a respectable offer. Hard to get upset with that. I'm a researcher though. I like to do my homework before I offer. I offered a lower end offer on a bike today. Price is 3k, trade in is 1900. We'll see where 2200 gets me. If the owner is insulted it can sit there for another year lol

I tried to watch them. I saw most of the first and got suckered in to taking my wife to the 2nd one. I think the only one who can even half way act is Jacob and that's being gracious. The sparkling vampire and the emo chick's incessant moaning is just too much. I think the whole damn thing is unhealthy anyway. These damn girls are OBSESSED with this ****. I saw a girl SOB, I mean ****ing wail at the theater during the 2nd one. My wife read the books in one week. She didn't speak to me. Barely even ate. Then I heard about how awesome they were for months. So yea. **** Twlight.
