Nobody unless it's on tape or you signed something, which I can't imagine that really being the case,but the police are usually going to side with the business owner on a case like that.

That's kinda the point I was trying to make. There is a time to just step away and deal with it later. People don't seem to get the fact that just because you don't respect security guards or even cops, doesn't mean they don't have authority. Even if they are wrong, you usually aren't going to win standing there arguing with them. The SG was wrong to ask the OP to leave, but as I stated earlier, the OP did the right thing. Had he stayed and started a fuss it would have ended differently, potentially badly.

I think it has alot to do with the way you look, act, where you live, where you go, how big the gun, color of the holster and gun, sun's position to the earth, etc Top it all off with the fact that most people can't tell you what their name is on a given day...lol

You handled it the right way, but if you had gotten loud and started an altercation he would have been within his duties to remove you. It's better to walk away and call on-duty PD. If you start a fight/argument with the cops or even a security guard you're usually gonna be the one that loses.

What I think you run into is if you're in a small town where everybody knows the Sheriff and Deputy Bob they probably aren't gonna mess with you. You live in a small to medium town with a small department of 20 or less officers you are going to run into some "bubbas" and some "I AM THE LAW" types for certain. When you live in a major city like Knoxville, Nashville, or Memphis most of the cops have more pressing matters to attend to than to jack with the guy OCing with a 150 dollar holster and a 1911. They know better because they know that's not how the gangs they deal with act and carry. Fallguy, how would you like to do a thread review? I'll bet you lunch that most of the members here and passed on stories of OC issues with PD are from smaller towns.

I think that's a little narrow sighted. No offense, but it's more cop bashing BS. Yea some of you guys that live in small towns might have some hick bubba cops that get bent out of shape, but I deal with cops everyday from different agencies and most of them could give a **** if you have it duct-taped to your forehead so long as you're not pointing it at them or someone else.

Agreed. My rep is kelsey. I thanked him for sponsoring a clean bill. I WANT a clean bill. We deserve a clean bill. If we get a curfew, I think that's stupid, but it is at least a foot in the door. Hex, you blame who you want, but this is about everyone not just you. If the reps vote for a curfew they will vote that way despite what their e-mails say as far as curfew or clean bills go. You have the people that are flat out against it, those who will pass with curfew, and those who want it clean. We'll know soon enough how it shakes out.

Thanks man. From what little I'm able to actually talk to my friend I think it's gone down without any skull removal. I'm pretty much relying on random phone calls and texts as she can get them out. I'm trying to support her and be there for her, then my little cousin that I posted about awhile back that has MS is having complications and BS from kids at school. I'm just hurting so bad for the people that I love right now. It's just so overwhelming to see people hurt so much. It really makes you just hold people a little tighter.

Aww. Oh well it doesn't go with my costume anyway. The gigantic broadsword that is only tied down with a piece of yarn however...
