  1. Be warned it is a "fun' but addictive sport. :D You won't find a nicer group of competitors and attendees. All really helpful on what it takes to get started & You get to see some very nice rifles on the line and some excellent accuracy at 1000yds. Can't wait - should be a great weekend of fun!
  2. Inquiring minds want know! Lot of fun too.
  3. Here's my old 22LR boys: CZ453 set trigger Varmint Ruger 10/22 heavy barrel and thumb hole target stock, trigger kit Winchester 52B &16x Unertil scope 1939
  4. Try to support local dealers Relaoder's Bench, MidSouth, Cjampions Choice and when I buy on line Grafs, Midway, & Sinclair.
  5. Doesn't Murfreesboro have a 1300 or 1500 yd 2 day event in May or June?
  6. Lee Crimp die is great for semi-auto pistol rounds. Might want to get a case gauge as well, just to be sure you have it in SAMMI specs.
  7. Sounds like most have not shot at any ranges in NJ, NY, CT MA or any lovely liberal North East spot, folks there would tell you how lucky you are. Like I said I've lived a lot of places 'it ain't so bad'.
  8. I shoot a the Stones River Range and have met the cast of RSOs and to be honest, they really don't bother me that much and I find them all to have different and varying levels of firearm knowledge (most of it good and some so-so). I have been an NRA certified range officer at an indoor range and believe the volunteers do a good job with the varying levels of public that they have to deal with. It may not be everyone's cup of tea and some will find other places to shoot that they like better. It is nice to have a choice of ranges Owl Hollow, Maury County Gun Club, TWRA, etc... and I choose the Stones River for it closeness. I bring my chronograph to the range frequently and have never had any issues setting it up or using it. I like the folks and facility well enough to be on my second annual membership (don't like waiting in line and only like to spend a couple hours shooting). All in all not that bad a place to spend a couple hours shooting your firearms, honing your skills, and chatting with other shooters. I've been shooting firearms and reloading for over 30 years and have lived in many parts of the country and belonged to several various ranges. It's a Good place and can be good times - remember they are just fickle about your and my safety, I'm glad they are. My $.02
  9. I only have one AR15. Sabre Defence lower with DPMS parts kit LMT Upper 16" carbine Badger Tac Handle Young NM FA BCG UTG Hand guards UTG B/U rear site Bushnell MP Red dot Trophy Very accurate 16" rifle Don't shoot it much (200 rounds through it), however, always makes me smile when I do.

  11. Color blind and yes there in a new light at the intersection.
  12. FroggyOne2, Which tube gun you have (Elisio, MAC, other)? I have a 6.5x284 that I shoot in F-Open. I feel a warmth for mine as well:)
  13. LaVergne, TN off of I-24 Waldron Rd exit, head east they're about two miles from the exit on the right. Big square black building with name on the side.
  14. They are about 5 miles from my house. I'm in there 2-3 times a month buying stuff, my wife's not happy that there's a high quality competition store so close. They are pretty reasonable on most items and the folks that work there are great. They do not have any primers! Got all my reload stuff for the 2009 Tennessee Mid Range State match next weekend.
  15. Ammoman has some C:\Ammoman\prices.html
  16. I have and use the Hornady Single press and a newer Lock-n-Load Progressive. Have had few of them, Redding, Lyman, Lee, and Dillon - Very happy with my current Hornady combo. Plus you can get "free bullets" with a new press.
  17. I use & like the Burris Xtreme rings 0n my 16x Super Sniper
  18. Grandad's old goose gun Agreed - Yikes it literally screwed me into the mud & wore the big blue mark on my shoulder for days:cry:
  19. I'm gonna make some calls to some of the TGO vendors and see what they have available. Then I'll go with him to see how it fits and points. I don't think he's gonna carry initially, however, will get more details when he gets back from his post-grad/pre-work road trip. Looks like 9mm ammo might be tough to find from what I read, too bad he won't consider 40SW or 45acp - reload for those and have plenty. Oh well! Hey thanks so much for all the great feedback - I'll post as things develop!
  20. Do the front sight base pins get driven out in a particular direction?

Have not been to either, however, will be making a trip to south store in June. Good advise in the pre-paper work. I'm so excited!
  23. My son just graduated from college and wants to purchase his first pistol. He has fired my Glock, XD, & HK - 45acp & 40SW pistols, however, after firing his buddies 9mm he likes that round the best. With that he's decided he'd like a Beretta 92F. What are the general opinions on this pistol Used or new Price guidlines Where's a good spot to purchase here in Mid-TN I don't have much experience with the Beretta - appreciate your input.
  24. I've never been to one, sounds fun. Is it a good place to try and sell my 1903A3 Remington?
  25. WOW! Very nice, you gotta be happy with that.
