Pretty cool, he is one awesome dude. I saw him and James Yeager at a 2A rally in Nashville at the capitol.  Not really my thing to go up and bother folks, plus there were plenty of other folks doing that, so I didn't meet anybody.

Went to a preds game last winter and upon seeing the wanders had to return to my vehicle to disarm myself. Pretty sure it was the last preds game I'll go to.   I've pretty much given up on going to sporting events anymore. Seems they're all off limits, full of drunk obnoxious people and overpriced food and drink. I like the view better from my living room anyways.

The hardest part about dry fire practice is making/keeping it interesting. Trust me, I know - I love dry fire practice, do it 3-5 nights a week for over a year+ now, but it is hard to keep it entertaining. Really seeing the results in live fire is the only thing that keeps me devoted to dry fire.   Getting a shot timer really makes things a lot more entertaining.   This is useful    http://personaldefensetraining.com/dryfire-drills/   I use it a lot too.

Woo Hoo! Just got the ok from the lovely wife.   I'm there! I still have my score sheets from the drills in April in a drawer, lol. Actually use one of the tests regularly in my dry fire practice.

Well, pretty good time to start some indoor shooting matches - shooting outdoors in the winter can be a little taxing in certain weather. Hopefully I'll be able to making it out sometime.

It is a REALLY nice range, the folks are very friendly and helpful. Really like that they have 25 yd distance. Haven't really scoped the gun counter for prices but I'm sure they are quite competitive.   Having a membership at a range is a really good thing to get in some regular shooting practice. I had a membership for going on 2 years at a place back in chattanooga. It is easily worth it if you go and shoot regularly - which spending some real money kinda of encourages you to do so.   But once I got out to real competition/training ranges where you can draw/move/shoot ect., the square range really lost it's appeal. But hope you get the best out of it - stay safe and practice often.

I do believe glock calls it a "slide lock lever", not a slide release.   Using it as a slide release is WAY faster though, and most competent Glock shooters I've ever seen or been around use it this way.   I feel being able to use it or especially an extended one, as a slide release is a practicing/training issue - I used to not be good with it. Worked with it, trained hard - now its second nature, and that was coming off a CZ - which has a slide release prob close to 1/2" wide.

Just saw it on the news. Really sucks, hope they didn't get much. I haven't been in there yet, but I have a storage unit right by there and have driven past it several times.   Really good reason for gun shops to have those concrete barrier poles in front of the store front - crash wall robberies are fairly common for gun shops from what I've seen. Couldn't imagine those costing too much.

Bought a used LCP that had some feed issues, called them up, told them it was used, they said send it in. They replaced the barrel and it's been great ever since. I had to ship it on my dime ($10 at my local range) but no expense other than that. Very good CS experience for me.   From all I've heard and read most reputable firearm co.'s are pretty good on customer service.

Bullhide leather belts are my go to for EDC belts, I've used a couple for the last few years - super sturdy and a good price for a high quality gun belt.   I've had a wilderness belt, and still have a S.E.O. duty instructors style belt with a heavy duty buckle - but those are a pain to put on and take off quickly.   I've found I'm too used to the simplicity of a leather belt for my everyday belt.

I've got 2 sets of ameriglo Pro I-dots on my G19's, they have a little tritium dot in the center of the rear - really good setup. I like the wide rear notch (although maybe a tad too wide for some longer distance stuff), very fast and easy to acquire front notch with the big yellow/orange ring around the tritium vial. The rear dot is hardly noticeable (except in low light when it glows) and the front orange/yellow ring on the front draws your eyes very well to the front sight. I've found the rear tritium dot is nice to have for a reference point for front/rear alignment in low light.   But the rear dot isn't a deal breaker for me. I'd prefer it if I can get it, but I could make do without it. I'd like to try some of amirglo's other setups (with the goal of finding a little tighter rear notch/front sight width) and a lot of them don't have the rear tritium dot,

I did a LOT of reading before I jumped into the gen 4's. Yes, it seems all (ok almost all) the issues were with the 19 + 17, in regards to all the things Cruel hand luke delved into. But from most the reading and reports I saw, Glock did get it worked out and all the gen 4's are good to go now. All my Glocks now are gen 4's.   I have a 19 that had updated parts installed by a previous owner, I have 3,800 rounds through it with no issues (that were not operator induced). Another 19 that has or came with the updated parts, with around 300 flawless rounds through it. And a 34 with 400 trouble free rounds.

Its not something I'm worried about, I agree with peace, if you just got involved in a SD shooting, your gun being registered to you will be pretty far down on the things to worry about.   I've slowly gotten to where most my firearms are "off book" - including the two I carry daily.

Not an issue I've ever heard of, I see no reason why it would be of concern. Are you worried about the frame holding up to the weight/pressure?   Did a 14 hour drive down to Fla a few months ago, G19 carried IWB sitting in a car the whole way (well maybe reclined back a few times for a few of those hours).

I had a lot of problems trying to shoot with both eyes open at first too. I have left eye dominance and am right handed.   After practice, it got better. Once I learned to draw the pistol and push it out under my left eye, it got even easier - set up the strong eye to pick up the sights first.   After over a year of pretty religious dry fire practice several times every week, its second nature and now feels weird to close one eye.

I don't really pick out carry guns or dress for them. Its either the LCR in the pocket - usually for work, or the G19 for all other times.   I haven't dropped my rig or gun (yet) but I do put the holster and gun on as one.   One thing though, if you had to choose, wouldn't it be better to drop a holstered gun, over a gun by itself?

I first wanted and carried a DA/SA gun, well besides the little DAO 380 pocket gun I carried as well.   When I got serious about practicing and training I quickly found and decided I wanted the same trigger pull every time. Went striker fired and never went back.   But I do think shooting a SA handgun is about as sweet as it gets, and that includes a SA/DA.

    I knew both my carry guns weight unloaded, but thanks to your info I now know the loaded weight. Although I carry Federal115gr Hi-shok in my 19.   G19 =33oz LCR=17oz
