  1. Its only about 14 miles for me and almost always on my way home (out of nashville) - so it's super convenient. 60 miles would probably be hard to justify.
  2. Another vote for Royal range - the facility and folks are superb. I have the DC membership going on my 2nd year - I shoot there A LOT.
  3. Hard to beat SGammo, except when brownells has their free shipping on ammo. I only buy it by the case though.
  4. Looking forward to it. I have to totally agree - one of the best cost to benefit ratios I gotten. Hoping the weather is a little more kind to us this time.
  5. I'm not sure if I need or want one but I'd bet lots of money that they sell tons of em.
  6. Ahh, yes I was confused - thanks for the clarification. I look forward to hopefully making both.
  7. Somewhat tough day for training, really tough day to stay warm and dry. Had a great time though - which has proven true every time I make it out. Continue to be impressed with the folks who show up and train - really enjoy seeing and training with familiar faces and always enjoy meeting new ones. I had a nice roller coaster day of shooting - some pretty ugly blunders but mixed in with some of my more solid shooting ability. Cold hands and extra cover garments can be challenging. I had a few runs of shooting with a pretty terrible grip from the get go. Saw some of my better runs came from just focusing on first establishing a good grip or when we started from the ready position. Shot some really good drills and then Randy came up with a REALLY good one that I look forward to doing again and some variations of. Ya, looking forward to making the event in January, looked at the website (firstpersonsafety.com) and didn't find anything on it yet.
  8. Sweet! Looking forward to this.
  9. Not gonna answer every question. But Chattanooga is GREAT! Lived there for 7 years before moving to Nashville. We miss Chattanooga sometimes but are thankful for our move for lots of other reasons. Crime in Chatt is probably mostly limited to the bad parts of town ( isn't that the case most everywhere). But there is usual stuff everywhere but I came from Atlanta so Chattanooga was an improvement. No sales TAX is GREAT. Bugs are plentiful from April to October when it starts to get cooler. We have lots of OFF. Chattanooga has lots of good gun folks, you won't have a problem finding a club/range and having plenty of gun folk/activities. My $0.02
  10. Yep - same here. Been carrying one of these everyday for somewhere around 2 years now. I've worn over half the coating of black off and washed it tons of times, pretty much beaten it up good and it's never missed a lick. I love that its small enough for my pocket, super simple operation and bright enough for pretty much anything I need.
  11. Very nice! Those are really pretty grips on the 75. I've been exclusively shooting/training with my P-07/09's since Nov. - really digging the CZ train again. So much so I just landed a limited edition 75b matte finish off another forum. Can't wait to get it.
  12. You never had/found a 1911 that could shoot 200+ rounds without a failure? How many did you try - only 1 Colt /1 springfield? Not calling BS, just find that pretty bad odds. I just don't think it would be hard to find a good 1911 that would run reliably for hundreds, if not thousands of rounds.
  13. This is where I think we are at with slide mounted red dots. I look forward to when we are there though.
  14. Looking forward to getting myself a hat. Looks good!
  15. Done a few transfers with Royal range now - super easy and quick. Just fill out the form online and get a call when you gun is in. The biggest plus for me - the guys actually act like your doing business with them when doing ffl transfer, they don't act like I'm wasting their time like most other places have in the past for me. I will be purchasing more from them just because of how they have treated me.
  16. 28,000 rounds 18,000 rounds 115,000 rounds of sporting ammunition were burned for these video's
  17. So just out of curiosity and for clarification - did the grips fail because THEY let go and slipped around/off your gun? Or did they fail because your hands were sweaty and you did not have enough grip/traction?
  18. Looks good. I used to be down on talon grips and such - after reading about some folks knocking them for having the grips loosen or shift in the heat and such. But after having one on my G43 for around 2 years, I;m quite an advocate for them now. It is critical to have the surface prep and installation done properly. I have had one very small area on it loosen up, but a dab of super glue and its never budged since. Just added 2 Poly CZ's to my collection and talon grips where on within 2 weeks.
  19. So close to home, had to do it - got my ticket. Can't wait!
  20. Uhh, probably horrible. So you will get even less footage than with a body cam - camera is only useful once the weapon is drawn. More footage equals better info on the incident. Plus, will the cameras even hold up long term under recoil?
  21. Diagnosed myself a few weeks ago with a serious flinch. Been hitting the range x2 wk to iron things out - putting hard work into basic fundamentals - 1"dot/3yds, 2"circles/5yds. Slowly making progress with the Glock, but took a few other pistols the other day just to shoot something different/get a different result. First is with G34, then G19, then M&P 40 - really digged the M&P, even though I discounted them a long time ago, even in .40 - great shooting pistol. Might be a 2.0/5" in my future. Last pic is last trip, just the 34 - finally started getting things figured out.
  22. Some good, fun - hose em down stages, until you remembered that 1 target you just blew by! Good stuff. So, even though I sucked and didn't finish - pratiscore results?
