The city of Miami Beach, Florida has declared an emergency with an 8:00pm curfew in the South beach area. The problem is that they have been overrun by Spring Breakers. According to the mayor, massive crowds of young people have overwhelmed the city. Its shoulder to shoulder in the popular tourist areas and traffic can't move. After the last year I can certainly understand these folks wanting to blow off some steam, but I worry about a huge Covid spike. Remember what happened last year? Story Here

Its seems now that the antis are pushing for a waiting or "cooling off period" on the purchase of firearms. They claim that if the Atlanta shooter had had to wait to get his gun that this tragedy wouldn't have happened. One way or another, the antis are gonna try to use this to their advantage.

So who gets it?

You got that right! I've seen many guns listed that I'd like to have. Just can't justify the gas or an 8-10 drive to go get it.

Storing underwater seems a bit risky to me. The weight could make it sink into the soft muddy bottom to where you may never find it again or may not be able to pull it free. I'm thinking if you do this, you'll have to swim to get it out. And even that might be difficult. But, if you must, PVC pipe and seal both ends with solid caps, You'll need a saw to open them back up, but it should be completely water tight.

Armslist screwed themselves when they went to charging just to answer an ad. I can see a charge to sell, but to buy is ridiculous. The Memphis Armslist used to easily run 15-16 pages or more of guns for sale. Now its maybe half that and slowly shrinking. The only ones selling are the ads where the seller is smart enough to put a phone number in them. Its seems that ads without phone numbers just sit there for a very long time. I've seen several guns I was interested in, but not enough to pay a fee just to contact the seller.

I'm a big fan of the Springfield 1911s and have several of them. I have a light weight Operator and love it. AFAIK this is the only lightweight full sized pistol anybody makes outside of custom builds. Since it has a lower rail, I added a Streamlight TLR-1 and it serves duty as my house gun. I completely agree about full length guide rods. Their only purpose seems to be to make disassembly/reassembly harder. Over the years I've bought a couple of 1911s that came from the factory with them. One of the first things I did was replace them with the standard G.I. type set up. They work just fine. Many years ago I read an interview in one of the gun rags with Ed Brown. He stated that the only reason his guns used full length guide rods was because customers wanted them. He went on to say that none of his personal guns had one.

His reasons are what the whole ruckus is about. Dems and MSM are trying very hard to make this a racial hate crime. That fits their agenda much better than admitting the guy is just plain crazy.

I caught a quick blub of a news item that said the shooter purchased his firearm from a LGS just hours before the shootings. So I assume the sale was legal and he passed a background check? I didn't get any details. Anybody got anything more or a link about this? Also, Atlanta PD is going out of their way to emphasis that they had no knowledge or indication of any illegal activities at the businesses involved. It seems that MSM and much of the general public have simply assumed that these places did so. Once again, guilty until proven innocent.

Oh Boy! This keeps getting better. Now the media is going after Sheriff's Dept. Spokesman Captain Jay Baker who spoke to the TV reporters. They're accusing him of racism and not taking hate crimes against asians seriously. This is based on a facebook post in March 2020 showing him wearing an anti-china Covid related t-shirt and the fact that he has never stated that this was a hate crime despite constant urging from reporters to do so. In short, he won't say what they want to hear. Yep, the libs are throwing the net real wide on this one.

I completely agree. The guy is a totally bat poop crazy murderer. Deserves to die. But the point is that in his mind he was killing hookers, not asians. The MSM and political hacks keep wanting to change that. Let's face it. He's white, male, 21 years old, religious and he used a gun. He rings all the progressive left's hate bells. You better believe the liberals are gonna milk this for all they can get.

I saw one interview with a High School friend that stated he was a great guy and always carried a Bible. So I guess the religion bashing will start soon.

Just saw another new story. Shooter still insists it wasn't racial. However, MSM is going on and on about how 6 victims were asian and 7 were women. Various politicians and political groups are already latching on to racial element and preaching about racial violence, especially against asians. Typical politicians. never let a good tragedy go to waste. If it doesn't quite fit your agenda, make it.

Crazy guy kills 8 people fits right into the anti-gun agenda. I bet democrats are chewing their nails waiting to see if the shooter bought the gun legally and passed a background check. God help us if he didn't.

I was just going by what was in the story. The Police made a point of saying there was no info about services offered.

This just out. Shooter is taking responsibility, however also says it is not a hate crime. He's a sex addict and was trying to remove the temptation these places give him. No word yet on if these places actually performed those type services. You can bet that MSM and the democrats are still gonna push the racism angle.

I went to the Parsons show a couple of times a few years ago. Small, over priced and not worth the trip. I've never bothered going back. However, bear in mind that shows have been shut down for a long time due to covid. Some interesting stuff might show up. But I'll also bet that prices will be crazy. If you go, give us a report.

The thing is that 4 of the dead women are Korean. Not Chinese. What a dumb ass!
