  1. That list was obviously made by a yankee. But I'm afraid I have to agree that Memphis Bar-B-Que has gone downhill for a while now. Ain't what it used to be. And the older, once great BBQ restaurants are now little more than tourist traps.
  2. These things have been around for a few years now. By all accounts they're extremely well made, reliable and accurate. Its the price that keeps holding people back.
  3. This guy Daniel 12 and his buddy Alex sure have been busy this morning. Just so happens that he has a Police Positive that I'm looking for. And another one bites the dust.
  4. Well if more "No Guns" signs do go up, I don't want to business there anyway.
  5. Yup, this idiot has severely screwed himself.
  6. I read World War Z years before the movie came out. Great book, terrible movie. As mentioned, the book and movie have very little in common.
  7. I just finished "Crisis" by Kurt Schlichter. This is the fifth book in his Kelly Turnbull AKA People's Republic series. Once again I have to praise Schlichter for an edge of your seat action thriller. I was captured by the story and breezed through it in just three days. For those unfamiliar with the scenario, these stories take place in the near future. The U.S. has had a Civil War in which its Conservatives vs Liberals. In the end, the country is split into two separate nations, The United States and the new ultra liberal People's Republic. These novels follow the adventures of Spec Ops operator Kelly Turnbull as he deals with special problems in this new world. This latest book "Crisis" is a prequel going back to the days just before the split. The country is on a razor's edge as both States and people are choosing their side. Either Red or Blue. Cities are being taken over and open warfare is erupting between the two sides. At this stage its a very active, but yet undeclared Civil War. The plot revolves around Merrick Crane III. A wealthy, powerful and totally evil leftist who claims to be working to free our nation from oppression. In reality, he's doing everything in his power to bring about a Civil War and set himself up as dictator of his vision of the new America. Turnbull is out to stop him. I've mentioned this series before in this thread. I'm a huge fan these books. They're well written, action packed and full of surprises. But the thing that really grabs you is the fact that its entirely plausible.
  8. Jackson show on July 10. I'll be going. First show I'll attend in over a year. But it looks like its Saturday only.
  9. What No One said. To sell reloads you must have the proper type FFL for manufacturing ammo. Although it is highly unlikely that selling just a few will get you into trouble, I certainly wouldn't post them for sale on the internet for all to see. If they are commercial reloads and labeled as such, it would be no different than selling factory ammo.
  10. Good for you! I hope you're the first person to get a lifetime OOP. I also hope this azzhole gets his due reward. And yes, I very much agree that its just a piece of paper. Watch your six.
  11. Damn! A Para-Ordnance SF-45-A. These were only offered to active duty troops serving in Iraq back around 2009-10. My son bought two and gave me one. I noticed your unit markings on it and understand how special it is to you. So sorry for the loss. I sincerely hope you can get it back. Damned thieves!
  12. Years ago I bought a RG .22 from a co-worker for $10. I took it to the range and usually four of the six rounds would fire. At 7 yards, I probably would have gotten a better group throwing rocks. A week later, I took it to a gun buy back in Memphis and got $75 worth of grocery and gas gift certificates for it. See, they do have their uses. A few years ago, my disabled lady friend asked me to look at her gun. It was a RG .38. You had to hold it a certain way to get the cylinder to advance and the timing was so bad, I didn't dare shoot it. I traded her a well used, but completely functional S&W Model 10 for it. I was going to destroy it, but a dealer friend convinced me to sell it to him for $75. Believe it or not, he sold it for $100 and the buyer knew exactly what it was and what was wrong with it.
  13. I'm at a loss for words other than to say this pisses me off something awful.
  14. Check with local farm/heavy equipment dealers. A 30 gallon grease or gear oil drum would be perfect for you.
  15. I got this link in e-mail the other day from TFA. Makes for interesting reading and explains why this is NOT Constitutional Carry. But still, questions remain. For example, we know this law doesn't allow carry in parks or greenways, but where else is a person prohibited from carrying under this law? This new law goes into effect very soon. I fear confusion of what it actually means will be a real problem. https://tennesseefirearms.com/2021/06/tfas-analysis-of-governor-bill-lees-permitless-carry-law-and-why-to-avoid-it/
  16. The GP-100 is a fine gun, but it always felt clunky to me. Its just awkward and heavy in my hand. The Six series guns are just so much more balanced and handle like a dream.
  17. I love the Security Six! I have a stainless 2.75" and a blue 4". Toughest revolvers ever built. I'm keeping my eyes open for a good 6" gun. I've said for many years that the worst mistake Ruger ever made was discontinuing the Six series revolvers.
  18. Bear in mind who is in the white house and BATF's tendency to make their own rules. I don't expect these triggers to last long once they get on the radar. But who knows when the powers that be will notice them?
  19. I just don't get the whole distressed look. Why make a brand new gun look like it was drug behind a truck?
  20. Since I have a C&R license, I got an e-mail from ATF saying that a gun theft had happened. But it didn't give details. It was the usual. make sure my stuff was secure and accounted for. Now I know what it was about.
  21. WOW! Talk about fancy. Congratulations. I hope it shoots as good as it looks.
  22. I have a BOS form I like to fill out when buying or selling. These days you can't be too careful. I like to keep track of where they came from and where they went. I'd have the guy who picks up the gun do the paperwork as he will be the actual buyer. You can prove where it went and what he does with it after that is none of your concern. Of course this isn't legally necessary. Just a CYA measure just in case.
