I think we've all been there a time or two. Bought what we thought was the perfect gun. Until it wasn't. Best thing to do is cut your loses and dump it.

Most all the valid reasons not to open carry have already been made. I'm a believer in being the Gray Man. Blend into the background and don't stand out at all. Be completely un-noticeable. As a friend of mine once said "The bad guy should never realize that you're armed until the second bullet hits him in the chest."

Cutting zip ties at gun shows is very common. Any seller will cut a tie for you to examine a gun, make a holster or whatever. Then simply put one of their own back on when you're finished. Happens all the time.

Question : Would you buy locally made Ammo?
Grayfox54 replied to DraxTheDad's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
Its going to depend on the quality and that's likely going to be word of mouth advertising. Make good stuff and word gets around, you'll do well. Otherwise, its a crap shoot. Looks will be important. If its nicely packaged and looks professional, it has a chance. Loose rounds in zip-lock bags? I wouldn't buy it. I inherited a bunch of local gun show ammo when a dear friend passed. While some of it looked decent enough, it turned out to be garbage. Very inconsistent and some were seriously overcharged/undercharged to the point of being dangerous. I ended up breaking most of it down for components. Frankly, I won't spend money or take a risk on unknown ammo. Good luck. You're gonna need it. -
Thanks to our friendly neighborhood hurricane, it was pretty slow. Mostly ended up being a bunch of old guys sitting around BSing and watching it rain. Oh well, we got out of the house, had a good time and made a few bucks. I'll probably do the next one just for fun.

I've been saying for years that the American educational system has been intentionally brainwashing our kids into stupid, liberal sheep. They've been playing the long game for many years and now its starting to pay off for them.

News Article about Glock Switch
Grayfox54 replied to Defender's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
What's even worse is that Shelby County DA Mulroy doesn't seem to be the least bit interested in pursuing federal charges when these thugs are caught with one. They may get a gun charge, but no mention of the full auto at all. -
News Article about Glock Switch
Grayfox54 replied to Defender's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
They're becoming a real problem in Memphis. Cops are finding quite a few of them. The biggest problem is the gun is completely uncontrollable. Very dangerous for innocents anywhere in the area. But the bad guys could care less. -

Tennessee shoots down Memphis gun control
Grayfox54 replied to Jpoc700's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
These idiots just won't give up. Memphis has now found themselves a Judge to say their gun control proposals can go on the November ballot. The reason being that its simply asking for voters opinions. It seems that the Memphis city council wants to make a show even when they know that even with voter approval, that trying to pass such laws would violate the state constitution. Is it any wonder why nobody in Nashville or Washington takes Memphis seriously? https://wreg.com/news/local/judge-rules-gun-control-questions-can-go-on-memphis-ballot/ -
I've got a few things I'd like to move. I think I'm gonna set up there. Feel free to stop by and say howdy.

I don't know that one and a search just listed many pawn shops. Got an address?

I do BOS either buying or selling. Two copies. One for me and one for the seller/buyer. In today's world I just think its a good idea to keep up with where a gun came from and where it went. As long as LE doesn't come calling, nobody will ever see it other than you and the seller/buyer. The only con I know of is that some people will refuse to do a BOS and it may cancel the deal. Frankly, that makes me suspicious and I don't want to do business with that person anyway.

Bowen is indeed a true master. But I'm betting he's backed up at least a year, maybe two. All you need is a simple trigger job. The SA Army isn't that complicated. Watch a couple of YouTube videos and you can do it yourself.

E-bay or Amazon.

From what I understand the system did work. Shooter came in, panic buttons were pushed, SRO got there very quickly and ended it. Problem was the shooter still had time to hurt a lot of people. However, bear in mind that the damage could have been much worse. No matter how prepared you are, life and death are a matter of seconds. For the most part, nobody really knows what's happening until the first shots are fired. Then its too late. We need to be focused on keeping the crazies outside and not get in. Even more we need to heed warnings and stop them before they even think about shooting. We are in a mental health crisis and nobody wants to address it.

I believe the Dad has a very good chance of beating his charges in court. However, the legal fees will bankrupt him. But then, maybe that's the whole idea behind these charges. If your kid gets crazy, you're gonna pay one way or another.

Most parents ain't got a clue about their kids. Sure, they're perfect when around Mom or Dad, but when they're on their own, totally different kid. But this is also perfectly normal. All kids hide things from their parents. Its natural. Think about all the stuff you got away with as a kid that your parents never knew about. Long story I won't get into, but I once saw a 13 year old look a Police Officer dead in the eye and say that if he got into trouble over this, he'd kill the kid who reported him. Repeated that several times and was dead serious. Of course when his mother arrived she said "My baby? No way, you're the liar!"

Nighthawk Custom 1911 drop-in trigger
Grayfox54 replied to Robert23's topic in Firearms Gear and Accessories
Your pics didn't work, but I looked it up. Interesting concept. All one unit kinda like a AR drop in trigger. But at $300, I'll pass. I did notice that Nighthawk said that they do NOT use this in their custom guns. Kinda makes you wonder, don't it? https://www.nighthawkcustom.com/drop-in-trigger-system -
My Dad had that same coat. He wore it while quail, squirrel or rabbit hunting. I borrowed it from time to time when I went hunting. Its a good practical hunting garment. Sadly, it wore out long ago. I don't even remember what happened to it.
