  1. The guys says he owns ONE acre. Doesn't sound like near enough space to me. Plus there are local noise ordinances. On the plus side, he did built pretty good backstops. Just not sure if they're high enough. While I fully support shooting on private property, I'm not sure if this guy has a valid case. I hope he wins, but its not a sure thing.
  2. I found another video with more info. IDK, could go either way.
  3. State has already made it clear that any gun control passed by Memphis would be illegal and invalid. The state will take action if such local laws are passed. But the Memphis city council thinks they're "special" and can do as they please. Claiming Memphis faces greater danger than the rest of the state, so the rules shouldn't apply to them. The election commission tried to refuse the referendum on the ballot as its illegal, but a judge allowed it. The referendum doesn't pass anything. It holds no weight of law. Its merely an opinion poll. I'm hoping the citizens of Memphis vote it down. But considering that most of them are dumb ass liberals, its anybody's guess.
  4. You've made two posts about this and I still don't understand your point. Ok, they have rules about discharging firearms within the county. Beyond that, I'm lost.
  5. PM sent with question.
  6. The election commission's answer is to print out the gun referendum, laminate it and pass it around to the people in line to vote so they can read it while waiting. Yeah, like that's gonna work. Thankfully, I don't live in Memphis and have to deal with this stupidity.
  7. Memphis voters will be voting on a gun control referendum which the Election Commission says is causing problems as it too long. This thing will cover two full pages on the voting machines and could take voters up to 20 minutes to read. The State has already said its invalid and illegal, but a judge ruled that the voters get to express their opinions. We already know the lines will be long and voting will take time. But this BS adding an extra 20 minutes to the process could cause voters to get angry with long lines and waits. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/city-s-gun-control-referendums-stretch-over-2-pages-on-ballot/ar-AA1skxJf
  8. Howdy neighbor.
  9. Absolutely. A good friend of mine had a bullet casting business for years. He set up at every gun show within reasonable distance. People bought them, liked them and started coming to him for all their bullets.
  10. Great gun! Somebody needs this.
  11. Somebody needs to buy this.
  12. Very neat indeed! 33" long and 2.8Lbs. Little bitty sucker. I like it. But honestly, I never cared for the Mosin bolt handle design and I don't like that it has to be manually cocked. But that's just me. Otherwise, it seems to be a very nice rifle.
  13. For me, the best show is the RK show in Jackson. I always try to make that one and its the only one that I'll set up at when I have stuff to sell. That one generally has a pretty good mix of old and new. RK lost their venue in Memphis a couple years ago and have been unable to find a suitable place since. Even when they did shows in Memphis, it was mostly overpriced ARs and plastic. I still preferred the Jackson show.
  14. OH what a feeling!..........
  15. ZOMBIE THREAD!
  16. A month or so ago I got stuck next to one for several miles on a major street. Good thing he had heavily tinted windows and probably couldn't see me because every time I looked over at it I'd bust out laughing my butt off.
  17. Speed limit is 45. I'm no genius. That was just basic high school math back when I graduated in 1972. I seriously doubt anybody under 30 could solve this today.
  18. They've been doing some shows in Memphis and Somerville the last few years. Frankly, I'm not impressed. They choose venues that are too small and end up too crowded and difficult to walk. Mostly the same old overpriced vendors and little I find interesting. Plenty of new stuff, plastic, ARs and such. But I'm looking mostly for older guns and pickin' have been slim. Parking at the Somerville venue sucks. Not near enough and many have to park in the grass and along the side of the driveway. I went to that one once and haven't bothered to go back. The Memphis venue is only a few miles from my house. I'll go if I just want to get out of the house for a while, but don't really expect to find much. I've just skipped the last couple. But this is the west end of the state. I can't speak for what they have in your area.
  19. Never mind. Asked this questions on a couple of other forums and it seems to be a bad idea. Not gonna do it.
  20. I have a Springfield M1A Scout/Squad rifle that I bought used. Love the rifle, but it has a woodland camo synthetic stock that I absolutely hate. I do like the feel and weight of the stock, just don't care for the color. I have considered painting it black, my preferred color, but I'm concerned that I may just screw it up. Will the paint hold up? Will it chip, flake, etc. I'm thinking about using the Krylon stuff specially made for plastics. looking for advice from those who have painted a stock before. How did it come out? Did it hold up? Did it last? Any advice?
  21. Being unfamiliar with Mark 7 products, I googled them. This doesn't look too good. https://publicjuris.com/mark-7-reloading-lawsuit/ The article also points out the complexity of the laws regarding reloading.
