  1. I'm hoping it is just a waste of my time. However, there have been reports of people having this #### and never showing any symptoms at all. But they can still spread it. I'm not going to take the chance that I may be one of those spreaders. I want to get tested so that I know. Besides, its only been a few days since Christmas. I might still get sick. The young lady I was exposed to is in the hospital. I don't have any details as of yet, so I'm not risking it.
  2. The vaccines aren't 100% effective. Especially against Omicron. I don't think I'll get bad sick or require hospitalization. Its just annoying. My real concern is that I might spread it to others. Can't get tested until Monday, Probably won't know the results until next Wednesday. So I'm just gonna go into hiding for now. I usually don't go much of anywhere anyway. But still, it pisses me off to be forced to have to stay home. Oh well, all I can really do is wait to see how it plays out.
  3. I had Christmas dinner with my oldest son, his room mates and a few of their friends. He called this morning to tell me that one young lady that was there has been admitted to the hospital with Covid. So far, other than a slight headache, I feel fine. I've had all three vaccines. But I am concerned. I can't get a test until next Monday. All the sites are booked solid. All the local drug stores are sold out of home tests. So I guess I'll just sit at home until I can find something out. Happy frakin' new year.
  4. Yep. And if she'd shot that gun like that she probably woulda ended up with the front sight in her forehead.
  5. According to the Crossover Chart in the back of my old Blue Book the Sears Model 200 is a Winchester 1200. Parts should interchange. However, Sears had different model numbers for every little variation of their guns. It might be something as small as the checkering pattern on the wood from one version to another. The charts lists about 50 different store model numbers for the Sears Model 200 shotgun. The Winchester 1200 is also known to be troublesome as far as parts go. Some years ago a friend asked me if I could fix his Sears 200. All it needed was a special screw that goes in the bolt. I discovered that Winchester changed that particular screw about 5 times over the production run and there was no info anywhere on which screw It needed. Took me a while, but I finally found the right one by trial and error. The parts you need should be fairly common to all models. Is the barrel bad, missing or just a bit rusty? Maybe you can salvage it?
  6. I have owned a Savage 1907 and a 1917 in the past. If they do bring them back, I certainly hope they do update them. While they are classic pistols and feel great in your hand, they are a PITA to take apart, have a horrible trigger and are very difficult to shoot well. That's why I no longer have them.
  7. Some folks think that just because a Colt has a snake name that its worth a fortune. The Diamondback is an outstanding revolver well worth owning. I have a 4" .38 and a 6" .22. But they ain't worth near that much. .38 Diamond backs generally run in the $700-800 range. .22s are a bit more popular usually running around $1200-1400. But they ain't made of gold as some would want you to believe.
  8. Do fat burning pills really work? I always that they were just snake oil and never gave them any serious thought.
  9. Especially this time of year. Let's face it, from Thanksgiving to New Year should really be called the fat season. Over eating is the tradition. I think the #1 New Year's resolution is to lose weight. I know it'll be mine. We shall see what happens.
  10. I've got two huge oak trees in my back yard. Squirrels have lived in them as long as I can remember. They've never bothered the house, but I do find signs of them in the garage now and then. I usually drive my truck. So the car tends to sit for long periods. Went out one day just to check oil and such and found the whole top of the engine covered in a heavy layer of acorns. No damage I could find, but it took quite a while to clean up the mess. I check it a little more often now, but it seems they learned their lesson. At least I hope so.
  11. You would want one with a door the either slides or opens inward. Otherwise debris could block your exit. Wouldn't be a bad idea to keep and ax or sledge hammer in there either.
  12. Outstanding! Congratulations to both the graduate and his proud Papa.
  13. Obviously we travel in different financial circles.
  14. I kinda like it. But it does make me sad. Christmas car commercials in general just make me shake my head. Do you or anybody you know ever really give or receive a car for Christmas? The whole idea is ludicrous to me.
  15. Probably just stocked up for Christmas. Once these are gone, they'll be back to having very little. As for myself, I have no intention of setting foot in any kind of retail establishment until about mid-january.
  16. The democrats wanted to put hearing aids in Medicare as part of Joe's multi-billion dollar build back plan. Vision care too. But they were also one of the first things cut. But I think that may have just been smoke and mirrors because they knew it would never make the final version.
  17. My hearing loss isn't related to service. So the VA is a no go for me. Neither is it shooting related as I've always been careful about ear protection. Mine came about from listening to diesel engines for 42 years.
  18. If you have or need hearing aids, you know that those little buggers are expensive! If you're a member of the Second Amendment Foundation, Good news! 2AF has partnered with a company called Start Hearing to offer big discounts on hearing aids. I got a letter from 2AF about two weeks ago laying out the plan. My current hearing aids are old and on their last legs. So I checked it out. I made an appointment with a local Audiologist in the program and just got home. The deal is real! :D I'm getting new hearing aids at about half of what they would have cost. These are top of the line, tier one Starky hearing aids. Not cheap junk. if you're a 2AF member, click on this link for info. Start Hearing
  19. Reminds me of George Floyd. Understand that I'm in no way excusing the actions of that cop. He was wrong and got what he deserved. But Floyd was made out to be poor innocent citizen victimized by law enforcement because of his color. Truth is that if he hadn't been high as a kite and committing a crime, the police would never have been called in the first place.
