  1. I saw several days ago that UAE has agreed to raise their production a good bit to help offset some of the increases in price. I think they can get OPEC to go along. Looks promising.
  2. Looks like its stopping here in Bartlett. Got about 2". It seems to vary a lot in this area. Local news at 10:00 showed some places locally with just an inch or two and other parts of Memphis with 6".
  3. When I worked for the city this was an on-going problem. Especially on garbage trucks. All manner of critters love to chew on wiring and hoses. I forget which one, but one of the major auto makers had to completely change their wiring harnesses. It turns out that the specific plastic they used as wire insulation was considered a delicacy by mice. I usually drive my truck. So the car tends to sit for long periods between uses. Last fall I opened the hood to check oil and such and found the top of the engine covered in acorns. It seems the squirrels were using it as a warehouse.
  4. What guns do the holsters fit?
  5. Ammo Seek shows 3 listings. $3.80 per round!
  6. I got out and about today. I paid attention to gas station signs. I live next door to Memphis. Highest was $4.19. Lowest was $3.98. My usual station was $4.09.
  7. At least we can keep our sense of humor.
  8. Gas in Europe has always been high. When I was a young troop in Germany way back in 74-75, gas was about $2.00 gallon then. We could have easily bought our own cars to use while there. But couldn't afford the gas.
  9. The concept behind Biden's Build Back Better plan is great. Our nations infrastructure is in dire need of repair and update. The problem with it is that the Dems loaded it down with trillions in pork, totally unrelated BS and political favors. If they would just cut the fat, I could support it.
  10. The big issue with electric cars always has and always will be the batteries. Cost, size. weight. run time, available recharging and disposal. Until these things are corrected, electric cars just ain't practical. Meantime, we're stuck with the high cost of gas and there really ain't much we can do about it.
  11. Just heard on the evening news that the U.S and U.K. have banned all Russian oil, natural gas and coal imports. Supposedly, the U.S. ban will cost the Russians !00 M a day. I think the bigger news is the U.K. ban. Europe is a big consumer of Russian energy. That'll hurt. Already mentioned McDonalds shut down as been joined by Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Starbucks. Yeah, let's piss the Russian civilians off real good. make'em even madder at Putin.
  12. The oil companies are true believers in the saying "Never let a good crisis go to waste". OTOH There's a movement afoot to boycott Shell stations. It seems that they're still buying Russian oil.
  13. There are gas stations that have attendants? Around here, we've been pumping our own for many years. Or are you referring to letting oil companies use American oil again? I'd be for that. My guess is that when trucks start parking and goods stop moving, government will get off their butts. But not before.
  14. I filled up a couple of days ago. My 19 year old V8 likes the Unleaded Plus. $3.89 per gallon. I still had a quarter of a tank and a $50 bill vanished. I guess I'll switch to regular unleaded. Oh well, I don't go much of anywhere anyway. Besides weather says it gonna turn chilly and wet for a while. I'll just sit at home as usual. I am worried about my oldest son. Wrecked his truck last year during the vehicle shortage. All he could find was a 4X4 with a big V8. Just started a new job about 25 miles each way. I may have to loan him gas money. Hurting Russia is what's gonna end the war. I don't like the gas prices, but I will tolerate it for the cause.
  15. Did just showing up and shooting the match get you 600 yd qualified? I've been wanting to do that for a long time. But it seems to be a bit of a pain.
  16. While I am primarily a collector of S&W revolvers. I do like Colt's too. I stumbled across this one at Bass Pro of all places. Hemmed and hawed over it for three days, but in the end I couldn't resist the temptation. Probably paid to much, but I'll let my heirs worry about that. Colt Police Positive 4th Issue. 1979 This is my seventh Colt revolver. here's the whole herd.
  17. DJTC45: I'd say your off to a pretty good start there.
  18. I'm in. L BTW: mechanics gloves make excellent shooting gloves.
  19. There you have it. ATF's job is to enforce the laws as written. But they keep interpreting and changing the laws as they see fit to suit their own purposes. I'm not a big suppressor guy. I do own a .22 suppressor, but honestly very rarely use it. However, I fully support those that are into them.
  20. You easterners may be attracting Californians and other west coasters. Memphis seems to attract transplants from Chicago and Detroit.
