  1. Nobody wants to talk about the real problem. We are facing the collapse of our society and a loss of moral values. In most households both parents have to work. The result is that kids barely know them. Parents know even less about their kids. Kids don't have positive role models. Athletes who beat their wives/ GFs? Singers and actors who's personal lives are a mess? Politicians and authority figures who abuse their power and are crooked as a snake? No. They end up looking up to drug dealers and gang members because they have money and power. Then there's the peer pressure kids are under. Many are constantly being told they're weird, worthless and a POS. Believe me, nobody can be as cruel as another kid. Add an education system that doesn't work. They don't teach kids anything useful. The goal is simply to push these kids through the system with as little trouble as possible and fill their minds with liberal garbage. The kids that actually graduate are functional illiterates with no clue as to how to face the real world. Reality then slaps them in the face mercilessly. The end result is that you wind up broken young people who have no hope for the future and no regard for human life or themselves. Its taken decades to reach this point and I honestly have no idea how to fix it or even if it can be fixed. I fear that a total collapse of our society is inevitable.
  2. I wish you were closer.
  3. Ok, screw it! I just hate to throw this stuff away. FREE to anybody who wants them.
  4. If they pass that tax, I'd happily sell my ARs for just a 500% profit.
  5. Very nice pistol. I like it! But C'mon now, Nobody can have just one 1911.
  6. As mentioned. most all single stage presses are good. I happen to prefer RCBS equipment and dies. But the other brands are fine. Right now the problem is gonna be components and powder. Primers are especially scarce. As for best powders. these days use what you can get.
  7. Oops, sorry. Fixed it.
  8. They want an easy answer to an extremely complex problem. That's all gun control is. Unfortunately, many unknowing and ignorant people believe these lies. There are an estimated 400 Million guns in circulation in this country in the hands of about 81 million citizens. Approximately 20 million of those are AR style rifles. If a bad guy wants a gun, he will find one. Stopping sales will have no effect at all. These high casualty shootings in Philly, Chicago and now Chattanooga are making the national news because they fit the agenda. What seems to be the common denominator is that two groups (likely gangs) collide in a public place and start randomly spraying bullets in each other's general direction. Sadly, innocents get caught in the crossfire. While it is a tragedy, sadly its just another weekend in the big city.
  9. Oh My Goodness! That is nice! I do love a Hi-Power! But I'm afraid that just ain't in the budget and too far away. GLWS.
  10. Maybe they should look back at the history they're so fond of erasing and see what happened the last time the government tried to confiscate American's guns. I agree, its mostly just talk and posturing. Politicians just want there name in the papers. Not much will come of it.
  11. Pretty much what I figured. The shooter considered himself a victim of a flawed health care system. Imagine that!
  12. It seems that the new trend for anti-gunners is to buy a lot of stock in gun companies and destroy them from within. I wonder how they can afford it? A similar thing happened not long ago when a religious group (Nuns I think it was) bought a large block of stock in S&W and demanded similar studies. Last I heard, it wasn't going to happen.
  13. Shooter killed himself. Sounds like a more common murder/suicide than a mass shooting. I'm guessing he went there with one specific target in mind. We shall see once the circus gets started.
  14. Generally, more weight reduces recoil and making shooting better and more accurate. The down side is that it's harder and more tiring to carry. The big thing that makes modern plastic guns so popular is their light weight. This makes them great for carry. Lets face it, many of us carry a gun, but very few will ever actually use it. OTOH, if you're target shooting or hunting, weight is your friend. How much weight you want depends entirely on the guns specific purpose. Nope. I have a couple of long slide 1911s and the extra slide mass reduces muzzle flip, felt recoil and makes them excellent shooters.
  15. One of the biggest problems we face is that anti-gunners know absolutely nothing about guns. Yet they're more than willing to spread lies and mis-information like it was gospel.
  16. I fear the 30SC may become a victim of bad timing. The last couple of years just haven't been good to new stuff. Aside from the flurry during its announcement, I have never seen a gun chambered for it or even a box of ammo. In fact, I haven't even heard it mentioned anywhere for quite a while. It could well just turn into another almost was.
  17. I can relate to this.
  18. I agree, buy much bigger than you think you'll ever need. I also agree on having it delivered and placed where you want it. Well worth the cost if there is one. I'm a firm believer in mechanical locks. Batteries tend to go dead at the worst possible times. Buy the heaviest steel with the longest fire rating you can afford. If you're like me, you'll also store all your important documents in there as well.
  19. How many of you now have this song stuck in your head?
  20. I'm a Christian, but readily admit that I'm not a very good one. However, I do see the removal and demonizing of religion in this country as a driving factor in our demise as a society. With the possible exception of radical Islam, all religions, not just Christianity, strive to teach people moral values. How to be a good person and how you should treat you're fellow man. Its about believing in something greater than yourself and contributing to the betterment of society. On another forum, someone brought up respect. As a child of the 1950s, I grew up respecting my parents, respecting my elders, respecting authority and respecting my government. There were people to respect, look up to and try to be like. What do today's young people have to respect? Most barely know their parents. They're taught that older people are fools. And when it comes to authority and government, well, even I have lost all respect for them. Young people today have very few people to look up to. They don't respect anyone and worse, they don't respect themselves. Its not that they don't know right from wrong, its that the line has become so blurred that they've lost hope and just don't care.
