We all have 'em. What are actually simple, common things that people do that for some reason annoy the poop outta you. Here's some of mine: At stores, banks and pharmacy's : People who wait until the last second to get there stuff in order. Whether its a prescription, paperwork, coupons, a check or whatever, this person waits until they get to the cashier before ever digging any of this stuff out. Many times they've been standing in line for several minutes and had plenty of time to do this in advance, But Noooo, they wait until the last possible second. And then often fumble around going through purses or pockets to find what they need. People who stop dead in the middle of the isle so that you can't get around them and just sit there for at least several minutes. Especially if they're talking to someone else. Why is it that the person directly in front of you will always have a problem with their order, prescription or credit card that takes forever to resolve? Driving: The guy who insists on cruising right there in your blind spot. They guy who has to come to a complete stop to make a right hand turn into a big, double wide driveway. Forcing you to come to a complete stop too. The people who stop short or change lanes right in front of you making me slam on the brakes. Especially when there's no apparent reason for it. These are some of mine. What are your's?

Well known character actor L. Q. Jones has passed away at age 94. I really liked him. He brought something special to every role. L.Q. Jones passes at 94 Damn! A lot of Hollywood's best have been dying off recently.

I've looked at both but haven't bought. I prefer adjustable sights on my .22s. There's just too much variation in the many types of .22 ammo out there.

The people that did come were there to buy. So a lot of guns were sold. I agree, new guns were going for MSRP. Older collectibles were plumb outrageous. 2.5" S&W Model 19 was $1300, Model 27s were $1700-1900, Colt Diamondback .38 was $2500 and the topper of them all was a Raven .25acp for $150! I confess, I had my guns priced a bit high. I figured if someone was interested that would give me some haggle room. Besides, I didn't need to sell them. If I couldn't get my price, I'd just take 'em home and put 'em back in the safe. But the two that I sold, the buyers didn't even haggle. Paid asking price, no questions. There was one middle aged couple there looking to find a defensive rifle for the wife. Nice folks. They settled on the Ruger PC carbine my partner had for sale. It came with 5 mags and some other goodies. Gun was LNIB. But then they tried to hand him a credit card to pay for it. Yeah, like an old man with just one table takes credit cards. Uh, nope. They asked him to hold it while they went to find a ATM. He did and sure nuff, about an hour later they came back and paid him in $20 bills.

Well, I survived. Over all a pretty good show. Lots of interesting stuff to choose from. Unfortunately, much of it was way overpriced. Especially older collectible pieces. I'm talking plumb stupid prices. The turn out was surprisingly small. I guess money is just too tight right now for a lot of folks. However, a lot of guns were being sold to those who did come. I did well. I brought 4 to sell and sold 2 for a nice profit. My table partner sold 8! But he did bring a lot more than I did. Its still there tomorrow if anybody is interested.

I'm a huge believer in individual freedom. I don't believe anybody should have the authority to tell any individual what they can or can't do with their own body. The choice to get or not get an abortion is between the woman, her conscience and God. Frankly, its nobody else's damned business. Abortion is not and never should have been a legal issue. Its a moral issue.

I've always preferred the Jackson show over Memphis. Memphis is mostly overpriced ARs and plastic pistols. At Jackson you get a much wider variety of stuff to choose from including some older, collectible guns. But like all gun shows, how good it is just depends on who decides to show up and what they bring. Besides, RK lost their venue in Memphis. Nothing scheduled there for the rest of the year and who knows when they'll get back to Memphis?

In my old job I was required to be outside in all kinds of weather. I don't do well when its cold. I went with the Carhart extreme cold gear. Not the lighter stuff. Get the clothes rated for extreme cold. It never let me down.

This is the hot topic right now. Politicians are scrambling and trying to please both sides. Don't expect anything to actually happen.

Another classic that every serious shooter should own.

OK so Bolsonaro is scum. But so are most world leaders. Nothing new there. It doesn't alter the fact that easing private ownership of guns resulted in a large drop in murder rates.

Interesting. I checked The Lulz profile and under "Military" he said NO. Yet he uses military terms. Probably learned playing Call of Duty. Also "I'ma" is social media slang mostly used by the younger crowd. I also looked up Lulz in the urban dictionary: "lulz 1. A corruption of 'lol' or a purpose misspelling of 'lol'. 2. An idiotic excuse to do ANYTHING offensive or disturbing (and as such, funny) used mostly by Chantards (4chan, IIchan, etc.) Gaiafags, or any usual member of Encyclopedia Dramatica. 3. Something funny that is caused at the expensive of others. File these under things that make you go Hmmmmm.

Military term. You pop a smoke grenade to let your helicopter pick up locate your position and get you out. Yeah, the way he used it sounded kinda dumb to me too.

On the NBC evening news, they brought up the fact that before the shooter could even buy a gun, he had to apply for and receive an Illinois FOID (Firearms Owner ID) card which required a background check. Further, He applied at age 18 and his father had to sign the form confirming his approval. If he's 21 now, that means that his FOID was approved in 2019, the same year of his previous Police encounters. Yet, he received his FOID and it was never revoked.

JustEd is correct. Every gun has its own unique personality. What works perfectly in one gun, may not work at all in another of the same make and model. All you can really do is experiment with different ammo. First requirement is reliability. Second is accuracy. Most any quality self defense round will get the job done. With the current ammo situation, I'd suggest you buy a box or two and give them a try. If one is reliable, use that. At some later time when prices and availability are better, you can fine tune then. BTW: hardball has worked successfully for over 100 years now. Don't sell it short.

Back on topic. I saw in the news this morning that the shooter has confessed. He gave details and said it was planned in advance. While driving around after the shooting, he came across another celebration in Madison, Wis. He contemplated shooting it up with the 2nd rifle, but decided against it because he hadn't had time to research and plan for that. He had two previous encounters with LE. From the story: "The first incident was in April 2019, when police were called a week after a reported suicide attempt, and mental health professionals spoke to Crimo and his family. The second incident was in September 2019, when a family member reported that Crimo was threatening to “kill everyone.” Police responded and confiscated 16 knives, a dagger and a sword." Illinois has a red flag law, yet this whacko wasn't on the "No Buy" list. Therefore he purchased a total of 5 guns legally.

I'd be looking for a different FFL. Denials happen all the time and are usually nothing more than a minor error that gets sorted out fairly quickly. Any FFL that wants to charge you twice is a crook. I'm also in Bartlett, who is this guy you're dealing with? I'd like to know so I can avoid him.

Not just buzz words. MSM is actively using these words to promote fear and to push their own agenda.

I'd rather take a serious ass whuppin' than move. I moved for the last time 30 years ago. I plan to die right here where I am.
