1. Also bear in mind that in those 15 seconds the BG got off 22 shots killing 3 and wounding 2. Imagine the carnage he could have caused if they had had to wait for police to arrive.
2. That's exactly what I had to do. Mentioned it in my earlier post. But here's what baffles me. My original old white on black photocopy birth certificate had my full name, my parents full names, the hospital where I was born, time of birth and the doctor's name on it. Its now invalid for some reason. My new updated "certified" birth certificate has my full name and date of birth only. But its completely legal ID. WTF???
3. I love a good project and always keep an eye out for broken, old or unwanted guns. Post 'em for sale, Just be honest in your description, plainly state that the gun is non-functional, describe the problem with it as best you can and use good pictures. You'd be surprised at how many people want them. I'd be interested if you were closer. Tell us what ya got?
4. I saw an article where the mall ownership actually praised Mr. Dicken's heroism. However, they stopped short of making any direct comments on their No Guns signs.
5. I saw one story that focused on how rare it is for a shooter to be stopped by a bystander. "It isn't common for mass shootings to be stopped in such fashion. From 2000 to 2021, fewer than 3% of 433 active attacks in the U.S. ended with a civilian firing back," Do ya think it just might be because most of these shootings have happened in "Gun Free Zones"? The antis are reaching hard to try to discredit Mr. Dicken's actions, but it ain't flyin'. The Chief and Mayor of Greenwood just keep praising this young man at every news conference and on camera. Even anti-gun MSM can't just ignore that. I LOVE IT!
6. This stuff has been in the works for years. I held a Commercial Driver's License for 40 years due to my job. CDLs always have to be renewed in person and you must bring proper ID. Well my proper ID has always been my original birth certificate that was given to my parents when I was born. Its one of those old white on black early photocopies. Never had a problem with it until about 10 years ago. Went to renew my CDL and all of a sudden my birth certificate was no good. I had to go back home, get my DD-214 and go wait in line another 3 hours to renew my license. Later I had to make a trip to the county Health Dept to get a certified copy of my birth certificate. This new one has barely anything on it but my name and date of birth, but it is certified. I still don't have a Real ID. I haven't flown anywhere since 2002 and have no plans to in the future. I guess when my regular license expires in 2027, I'll fool with it then.
7. Its looking like the Police Chief isn't gonna let this hero go un-noticed. "At a press conference on Monday afternoon, Greenwood Police Chief Jim Ison said Elisjsha Dicken, 22, of Seymour, Ind., was shopping with his girlfriend at the Greenwood Park Mall when shots rang out in the food court on Sunday just before 6 p.m. local time. “His actions were nothing short of heroic,” Ison said. “Many more people would have died last night had an armed citizen not taken action within two minutes of the shooting.”
8. My understanding of No Gun signs is that if found, they can only ask you to leave. If you don't, then you can be charged with trespassing.
9. In his statement the Police Chief said that the citizen was "legally" carrying and called him a hero. So I doubt he'll be charged with anything. They haven't identified the citizen by name, but did say he is a 22 year old male.
10. Take it down to the local phone store and let them look at it. Maybe they can fix it. I don't need anything fancy. All I do with mine is call or text. I bought my last phone at best Buy. $250 and it does everything I need just fine.
11. Yep. I'm betting the odds are that MSM will drop this story like a hot rock.
12. Good for Missouri and the AG. I remember a time when the FBI was considered the premier law enforcement agency in the country. Now, they're just the democrats political thugs.
13. I've been poking around the internet looking for ideas. Some I'm not sure of. Trauma scissors? Are they really necessary? I always carry a knife anyway. Quick Clot? Seems like a good idea. Powder or the bandages that have it on them? Chest seals? In the Army they just taught us to use the plastic wrap the bandage came in. Mastisol or Steri-strips or both? Any other suggestions? BTW: I'm thinking I want to use a M-14 double mag pouch to carry it all in. That's about the size I want. Space will be limited, so I only want the essentials.
14. The Nigerians will just pay for it with all those millions they can't seem to give away in e-mails.
15. I never heard of him before. But from what's in the article I conclude that he's a lawyer, not a cop. Has been a prosecutor and worked on civil rights matters. In other words, just another liberal idiot.
16. This is more than a peeve to me. It just flat pisses me off. My Father, my late wife and a good friend of mine were all legitimately handicapped. Its a real obstacle to people like them when they are forced to park a long way from the door. I have called the Police and gotten such azzholes ticketed.
17. Omega: That's pretty much what I'm looking for. Something about the size of a magazine pouch. What's the name of that and where can I find it?
18. The tourniquet thread got me to thinking that I could use a good Individual First Aid Kit. I have first aid kits and other supplies in the house, but they're big. bulky and don't travel well. I looked at kits on-line, but they're expensive and contain a bunch of stuff I really don't think I would ever use. What I would like is a kit capable of dealing with most any injury, but compact enough to keep in the truck, throw into a day pack or attach to a belt without being overly bulky. The smaller, the better. I'm thinking the best option is to put something together myself. Just what's needed and nothing more. So, what would be the bare minimum of equipment and supplies needed to put something like this together?
19. We all have 'em. What are actually simple, common things that people do that for some reason annoy the poop outta you. Here's some of mine: At stores, banks and pharmacy's : People who wait until the last second to get there stuff in order. Whether its a prescription, paperwork, coupons, a check or whatever, this person waits until they get to the cashier before ever digging any of this stuff out. Many times they've been standing in line for several minutes and had plenty of time to do this in advance, But Noooo, they wait until the last possible second. And then often fumble around going through purses or pockets to find what they need. People who stop dead in the middle of the isle so that you can't get around them and just sit there for at least several minutes. Especially if they're talking to someone else. Why is it that the person directly in front of you will always have a problem with their order, prescription or credit card that takes forever to resolve? Driving: The guy who insists on cruising right there in your blind spot. They guy who has to come to a complete stop to make a right hand turn into a big, double wide driveway. Forcing you to come to a complete stop too. The people who stop short or change lanes right in front of you making me slam on the brakes. Especially when there's no apparent reason for it. These are some of mine. What are your's?
20. Another glaring example of politicians who no nothing about guns trying to pass laws to ban them.
21. Well known character actor L. Q. Jones has passed away at age 94. I really liked him. He brought something special to every role. L.Q. Jones passes at 94 Damn! A lot of Hollywood's best have been dying off recently.

22. I've looked at both but haven't bought. I prefer adjustable sights on my .22s. There's just too much variation in the many types of .22 ammo out there.
23. The people that did come were there to buy. So a lot of guns were sold. I agree, new guns were going for MSRP. Older collectibles were plumb outrageous. 2.5" S&W Model 19 was $1300, Model 27s were $1700-1900, Colt Diamondback .38 was $2500 and the topper of them all was a Raven .25acp for $150! I confess, I had my guns priced a bit high. I figured if someone was interested that would give me some haggle room. Besides, I didn't need to sell them. If I couldn't get my price, I'd just take 'em home and put 'em back in the safe. But the two that I sold, the buyers didn't even haggle. Paid asking price, no questions. There was one middle aged couple there looking to find a defensive rifle for the wife. Nice folks. They settled on the Ruger PC carbine my partner had for sale. It came with 5 mags and some other goodies. Gun was LNIB. But then they tried to hand him a credit card to pay for it. Yeah, like an old man with just one table takes credit cards. Uh, nope. They asked him to hold it while they went to find a ATM. He did and sure nuff, about an hour later they came back and paid him in $20 bills.
