  1. Quite possibly. I don't consider myself rich, but I am comfortable. Sadly, lots of folks can't manage that these days. We have the best government money can buy. Its just out of most of our price range. Those that can afford it make the most of it. And yes, they are the boogeyman.
  2. I'm talking about the billionaires that actually own this country, Congress and the entire world. Your friends just weren't rich enough.
  3. I'm not even gonna pretend that I understand the world of high finance, the stock market or any of the big money games. I have absolutely no idea of what any of this means. What I do know is that what money I have in the bank should be covered by FDIC and that I keep enough cash on hand to get by on for a while if things go bad. I know that gas, groceries and the general cost of living is going up, but so far I'm OK. The only things I'm certain of is that the rich keep getting richer, the government will cover their butts and everybody else gets screwed. That's just normal life in America these days. Now if somebody could dumb this down enough and explain in simple terms how this effects me, I'd appreciate it.
  4. Yes Sir it is. FM Argentine Detective Model. I stumbled across this NIB locally a few years ago and jumped all over it. AFAIK FM was the only company to ever offer a regular factory version of the HP Detective model. The barrel and slide are approximately 1" shorter than the standard HP. Its my personal favorite and if I were to carry a HP, this would be the one.
  5. Its all fun and games until somebody gets hurt.
  6. When I think of Robert Blake I always remember seeing Electra-glide In Blue in a quonset hut theater at Ore' Grande base camp on White Sands Missile Range back in 1973. It was a pretty good movie.
  7. A valid point indeed. I passed "need" a very long time ago. However, "want" can be a powerful motivator.
  8. If you still have this when you come to Memphis, give me a holler.
  9. Much ado about nothing. The new code simply says you bought something at a sporting goods store. It does not specify what you bought and certainly can't be used to trace guns. Such codes have been used for years for everything from hardware to groceries. Its a simple market tracking tool. Nothing more. Always remember that the pro-2nd groups want your money and aren't above using scare tactics to get it. To them, everything is a threat.
  10. I'm curious about those as well. I'm thinking I might buy one just for S&G. But the only one I've seen was a Girsan at a gun show. Seemed to be pretty well made, but It was FDE color which I didn't like, so I passed. Oh well, I've got 4 versions of the HP as it is. Don't really need any more.
  11. They're Hogue. Readily available on the internet. After 42 years of turning wrenches, sharply checkered grips and I don't get along.
  12. I did pay full MSRP of $699 for mine. But at the time they were scarce as hen's teeth. Some folks were paying considerably more for the few that were out there. Some scalpers were getting as much as $1200. Springfield has been shipping to their stocking dealers first. Everybody else had to wait. Here's mine.
  13. I'm glad to see them showing up more. I have one and they're great pistols. But I had to drive 75 miles to get it. MSRP on those is $699. So your guy is a little high. But it seems lots of folks are willing to pay it.
  14. Some years back one of the local news programs reported that the most common time for hotel and restaurant workers in Memphis to take vacations or time off was during the annual COGIC convention. The reason being that these God loving folks never tip, complain constantly and treat the staff like ####.
  15. I wish you were closer. I'd jump on that deal. THE .38 Super is a semi-rimmed cartridge. Think of it as a 9mm on steroids.
  16. I truly believe there was massive election fraud. Especially with the mail-in vote. But I also believe it was on both sides. The democrats just cheated better.
  17. Regardless of where her family was or why they weren't there, there's no excuse for the way the hospital and police treated that woman. None at all!
  18. I'm also thinking a firing pin problem. bad spring, dirt, or possibly the firing pin itself has a worn or broken tip and is a bit short. As Darrell suggested, it may be excessive head space. But I'd try the firing pin first.
  19. Pretty much any of the big holster makers should have something you'll like. If you want custom, I highly recommend G.B. Leather in Dover, TN. George does outstanding work. His prices are reasonable and delivery is generally pretty quick. George is also a very nice guy. He's made several holsters for me and I've been very pleased. https://gbleatherco.com/
  20. I've never watched Fox news. But then, I take all of MSM with a very healthy grain of salt. Always remember that the News programs are just another TV show. They fight for ratings just like your favorite sit-com. Plus they all have their own agenda.
  21. The story is getting around. I saw it on Inside Edition on TV this afternoon. Family says their gonna sue.
  22. I lost a few small limbs. Nothing serious. But my power was out for 5 hours. Local news was showing considerable damage in Memphis. Some really big trees down. Reported 35,000 people lost power.
  23. They can already freeze your bank accounts. I don't see where this would be any different.
  24. Its my understanding that this new ISO code doesn't track gun purchases directly. Its for any purchase at a store that sells guns. For example if you go to Bass pro and buy a new fishing rod, that sale will get the same code as buying a gun. As would buying camping gear. I really don't think its that big a deal.
