  1. I went. Not bad. I got to talking to one of the vendors when he remarked that the crowd was small. I told him that there was almost no advertising for this show and he was shocked. Oh well. I don't like big crowds anyway.
  2. Good! Now to keep the ball rolling.
  3. I checked yesterday and it wasn't on Great American's web site. But I found out about the last GA Memphis show when I saw a small sign with an arrow while driving down Summer Ave. But, since the place is only a couple of miles from my house, I'll probably go. Oh well, it gets me outta the house for a little while.
  4. Its not on their web site. But its not the first time Great American has had a show pop up in Memphis unannounced.
  5. Please do and tell us all about it.
  6. I hope that guy was trying to be funny because he has no idea what the F he's talking about. I often carry that exact same model, S&W 642. I'm very happy with it.
  7. Question: if you don't have the Real ID, will they still let you renew over the internet or by mail or will they make you go to DMV and get the little star?
  8. I've never understood the stock market and have never been interested in learning. Maybe my retirement fund is playing, but personally I don't. I don't trust anything that can be manipulated and I think that's exactly what's happening here. Trump is playing some kind of game with these tariffs to make himself and his rich friends even richer.
  9. I remember the 2009 flood. Water was almost over the shooting benches. They did a good bit of drainage work after that. But they can't stop the Loosahatchie when it decides to leave its banks. At least it should drain faster.
  10. I didn't see any real need for it either. Figured I'd just do it when I had to renew anyway. But the state came to our town and set up a special temporary station for a few days so that all city employees could get the Real ID. Being a retired city employee, I qualified. The place was 5 minutes from my house. I figured that I'd have to do it sooner or later, so I took advantage of it. In and out in 30 minutes. Sure was better than waiting for hours at the DMV. As I understand it, this is to verify that the person presenting this license is indeed who they say they are. But if the BGs are good enough to fake a driver's license, wouldn't it be simple enough to add that little star? I never have understood the point of it. Can somebody explain please?
  11. Can't seem to decide what it wants to do at my house. We've had some real heavy downpours with high winds, but it only lasts 10-20 minutes and then quits. That's happened several times since this afternoon. My power went out for about 20 minutes. Now its sorta settled in to a steady medium rain. I hope it stays that way.
  12. Doesn't surprise me a bit. SCOTUS is just following the law. GCA 68 requires a serial number on all firearm receivers. An 80% receiver is still a receiver and is sold as such. Even if it isn't completely finished, there was never any doubt as to what it is. I've often wondered how they got away with selling them. You can still build your own gun. You just have to transfer the serial numbered receiver through a FFL.
  13. I haven't heard much out of the rest of the state. Were the other protests just as much of a bust?
  14. Down here if you FA you will FO.
  15. That's a great movie!
  16. I'd ask them why they object to the Constitution? I wouldn't take them off either.
  17. I spent much of my career fixing all types of earth moving equipment. My advice is to buy used and then only buy a brand that has a dealership near you. Saving a few bucks in price is worthless if you can't get parts when you need them. Avoid anything with electronics in it. Older is simple and simple is better. There are still 30-40 year old backhoes out there working all day, every day. When I started finding computers in backhoes, I knew it was time to retire. Personally, I'd lean toward Ford/New Holland or Kubota. But most any name brand will probably be just fine.
  18. I recorded the channel 13 news. They had the story and gave it an entire 1minute 23 seconds. Channel 3 at 10:00 didn't even report it. So pretty much a non-event.
  19. The protest in Bartlett did happen. Channel 5 did all of about 2-3 minutes on it. A crowd of maybe 40 protesters. But there were also pro-Trump counter protesters there as well. Anyway, all went peacefully and nothing changed. I would post a link but, Channel 5 hasn't even bothered to post the story on their website as of yet.
  20. And for all these years the liberals have claimed we were the dangerous people.
  21. What most people don't know is that a Tesla has 7 built in cameras that cover every angle. Turning them on/off is an owner option. Unless the car is burnt to the ground, the video can be recovered and vandals can be identified. I'm guessing that these days any smart owner has them turned on.
  22. I figure its either going to be a major event or a total flop. I'm leaning toward flop. A makeshift internet protest from some group nobody ever heard of? I'm thinking they'll be lucky if a couple of people show up. But then Memphis is plumb full of liberal idiots. I guess we shall see.
