Ford vs Chevy vs GMC (not an argument thread!)
Grayfox54 replied to Handsome Rob's topic in General Chat
Nobody does that anymore. Very few trucks are used as trucks anymore. Most never see anything more than a couple of 2X4s in the bed. These days most of them are just big family cars. The people who buy these want all the cool gizmos in them as well. So dealers stock what those folks want. if you want a basic truck, you gotta special order it. That's how most businesses get their work trucks. OTOH, you might give government sales/auctions a try. These will be plain Jane, basic work trucks, but check 'em very carefully. Sometimes they buy new vehicles simply because they can get a great deal this year using the government bid system. So they replace older vehicles that still have a lot of life in them. Every once in a while you just might find a real gem. Many cities and counties are now selling their used vehicles and equipment on the internet. -
Ford vs Chevy vs GMC (not an argument thread!)

JMHO: but I think the GMC is built better. Chevy makes passenger trucks. GMC makes work trucks. -
He must be going to Memphis. OTOH: we have this for smarter folks.

I do remember reading stories of people using night vision scopes to hunt coyotes, feral pigs and other varmints at night. Can't swear if its legal in Tennessee though.

Ford vs Chevy vs GMC (not an argument thread!)

During the 25 years I worked for my city as a mechanic, we had a huge fleet of pick-ups in all sizes. We tried pretty much everything at one time or another. Ford, GMC, Chevy, Dodge and even a Toyota or two. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing. held up as well as the Fords. We had everything from the little Rangers up to the F-477 Super Duty that I drove as my work truck. Lots of F-150s, & 250s Crew cabs with long beds too. These trucks worked all day, every day and rarely had any problems. The 7.3 diesel was a super work horse and rarely gave trouble. However, I'm not a big fan of the newer Ford diesels. Way too much pollution control garbage has made them a mess. I'd recommend you go with gasoline. I don't hate Chevy, they make a decent truck. However, I think you get a better vehicle and more value for the money with a GMC. As far as vehicles go, Dodge is a verb. This was my office for 18 of the 25 years I worked for the city. 1994 F-477 Super Duty. 7.3 L Diesel. This beast weighed in at 14,000 lbs. I drove this every day at work and it was still going strong when I retired in 2014. -

Shelby County Shootout Leaves Homeowner in Jail
Grayfox54 replied to gun sane's topic in Handgun Carry and Self Defense
If you're involved in a shooting, you better expect to be arrested. The police are gonna arrest everybody involved until they can sort out the details. Odds are the charges will be dropped AFTER the police get the complete story. -

I wonder if the antis will still carry out their plan now that its been exposed? I'm sure THP will take extra precautions. And they have lost the element of surprise. I'd think they would at least tone down their protests a bit. Nah! They ain't that smart.
-
According to that article, the people are already protesting against a government that's right on the edge of a dictatorship now. This will just make the transition easier.

And three cars up on blocks.

Boy! I don't take long to get bumped off the front page around here. Bump!

This story sure disappeared from the news cycle quickly. Makes me wonder why it doesn't fit the anti-gun agenda?

From the wood, I'm thinking more likely a Remington Model 11. Also notice that it has a Cutt's Compensator choke. You don't see those very often anymore. Although my Dad's old Remington 11-48 does have one and I have the gun.

Does it have an electric fuel solenoid? There's the possibility of a loose / bad connection or worn wire. I'd check that first. Could be either water or air in the fuel lines. There should be a drain cock on the bottom of the fuel tank. Open it and drain any water out. While slim, there's also a chance of a small leak on the suction side of the fuel pump that's sucking air in. Check all connections and replace worn hoses.

If you listen the recording, the armed security is being told to stay in the background and not be noticeable. They want the guns watching their backs, but don't want anyone seeing their hypocrisy. And yes, Brian Wilson did point out that being armed on the capital grounds is illegal. I really don't understand how "bird dogging" (harassing) legislators and causing "mayhem" is going to do them any good. That would just piss me off. There's just no way to understand how the mind of a liberal works.

I got this in e-mail from TFA today. Anti-gunners held a planning session in Nashville the other day. The 2 hour meeting was secretly recorded and then leaked. It discuses how they plan to cause "mayhem" at the Special Session of the legislature in August. Generally, they want to turn it into a huge mess. I don't know why, I would think that would work against them. But here's the biggie. They plan to have armed security there with them. Here's the whole story: https://tennesseefirearms.com/2023/05/gun-control-advocates-planning-mayhem-for-lees-gun-control-special-session/

I always liked the Bearcat. I've been tempted to buy one several times. Just never got around to it.
