  1. I got the e-mail too. Sounds like a scam artist to me. Wouldn't be the first time some new organization has ripped people off for donations in the name of gun rights. Hey Dave, I strongly suggest you fire up a good lawyer before this azz ruins the TGO name. BTW: if you need battle funds, don't be shy to ask. I'll gladly chip in.
  2. I'm not familiar with that brand. But, like the pistol, just about everybody makes them. If you like the style and price, go for it!
  3. My power was out for 2 days. Came back yesterday morning. My generator powered the fridge and freezer. Got me some light, the microwave and a small over-the-air TV. I made out just fine. Internet and cable just came back on a little while ago. Surprising how much I missed that. I had to get out and run some errands yesterday. Power is still spotty in Bartlett. Some blocks have power and the next one is stone dead. The Wolfchase area is especially bad. The mall and Wal-Mart were out. I think most of it is back by now or will be soon. Its been an interesting few days.

    Weapon Light

I have one on my house gun. But I never carry it. I did buy a holster for it, but its more of a duty style and not very good for concealment.
  5. The car burglaries thread got me to thinking. It seems the latest crime trend in Memphis is large scale smash and grab robberies. Several have been caught on video. Its always the same. late at night several cars pull up in front of a business. One car (usually stolen) is driven right through the front of the store. Then as many as a dozen thieves run through the smashed glass and grab everything in site. They know exactly what they're looking for and right where it is. They get the high end stuff and leave the rest. Then they jump back in the cars and are gone in a matter of minutes. Well planned, well organized and fast. There have been about a dozen such robberies in Memphis in just the last couple of months. Liquor stores seem to be a common target. Is this happening in other parts of the state? One of many stories
  6. Car burglaries are becoming an increasing problem in the Memphis area. But its not so much residential. Thieves are targeting large companies with huge parking lots and lots of employees. Especially those that work an overnight shift. Also high on the target list are hotels with lots of out of state license plates. I've seen news stories of as many as 30 vehicles hit at once. Sure isn't doing the Memphis tourism business much good.
  7. I agree. This gun started out as a BSR , not a Victory. It was originally chambered in .38 S&W. If it has been re-chambered to .38 Special be aware that the chambers are a bit on the big side and brass may be sticky or even split when firing. .38 Special bullet diameter = .357. .38 S&W bullet diameter = .361 OTOH: thousands of BSRs were re-chambered to .38 Special after the war and sold in the U.S. I've never heard of anybody being injured or the gun damaged by firing .38 Specials.
  8. The U.S. Victory models were 4" barrels. Some 2" guns have been reported but considered rare. The British Service Revolver was much like the Victory but had a 5" barrel and was chambered for the .38-200 British round which is a .38 S&W with a 200 grain bullet.
  9. This is what you get when politicians who know nothing about firearms think they know what's best for gun owners.
  10. New info: Story Here Lots of people were getting all bent outta shape because a gun shop was involved. Tons of speculation about government over reach, Biden, dems and whatever. Turns out its all about tax fraud. "The agents had a search warrant and claimed that Mr. Van Hoose underreported millions of dollars of income from his business, a claim Mr. Hoose vehemently denies." Current guess is that the 4473s are to prove more sales than actually reported. So untwist those panties folks. Ain't no over reach or conspiracies here.
  11. This is an interesting story that's popped up on another forum I visit. A couple of days ago, armed IRS agents raided and temporarily closed a gun shop in Montana. After spending most of the day going thru records, they left with about 13 years worth of forms 4473. By all accounts, the agents were polite and behaved themselves. But questions remain. Why would the IRS raid a gun store? Why would they want/need the 4473s? Bear in mind that at this point there is little more than lots of speculation going on. Many are outraged and jumping to conclusions. Still waiting on actual facts as to why to come out. STORY HERE 2nd Story Here
  12. The link don't work for me either.
  13. Count me in.
  14. When buying I always add the phrase "pending actual inspection" when negotiating a deal. Some years ago I worked out a deal for a gun on Armslist and when we met, I found it wasn't in near as good of condition as the pictures suggested. I turned it down and the seller went absolutely ballistic! Cussed me up and down screaming "We had a deal!" Well sorry, but I saw it as his fault for misrepresenting the gun. OTOH If I'm selling, have worked out a deal and someone else offers more. Sorry the other guy was here first and I'll honor my word.
  15. For some years now, I always require a BOS if I'm buying or selling. These days its just makes good sense to be able to account for where a gun came from or where it went.
  16. I've said it many times. Our schools are little more than liberal indoctrination centers. They've been filling our children's minds with this stuff for years. Well, now those kids have reached voting age. Common sense is badly out numbered. Its only a matter of time before the liberals win.
  17. Probably be cheaper and a whole lot less troublesome to just go get it.
  18. On another forum I visit there's a discussion going on about brandishing. I don't believe I've ever actually heard Tennessee's definition of the term. Exactly what is considered brandishing and what are the penalties? For example: You're being approached by someone in a threatening manner. No weapon visible yet, but you genuinely feel threatened. You open your shirt to reveal your CCW and hopefully deter any attack. Legal or not?
  19. A state that's trying to destroy what little industry they have left, their tax payer base is leaving in droves and teetering on the edge of bankruptcy. Even voters in blue states think they're crazy. Newsom don't stand a chance.
  20. This has been making the rounds on other forums. The general consensus is that he just wants his name in the news and it'll never fly. Newsom is testing the waters for a 2028 run. Nobody is going to take a politician from California seriously.
  21. I'd be real tempted to ram him and see how far he bounces.
  22. Done and done. I hoping that the session starts, a quick vote of NO and everybody goes home in less than a hour. That would put Lee in his place.
