My prediction: These hearings will go on for days, maybe weeks. Tons of people will testify. Hundreds of questions will be asked. And in the end, the final report will read "Inconclusive".

Because those big tires pick up all kinds of crap off the road and throw it at vehicles behind them. Lots of damage and plenty of wrecks have been caused by this. It may seem small, but its actually a major safety issue. Just my 2 cents: the driver had surrendered, hands up and co-operating. Dog was not needed. Driver is gonna be rich.

I hear ya Pop Pop. Thankfully I can still do most anything I put my mind to. It just takes a whole lot longer. But then sometimes I'll think "I'll just do this thing." and my body says "Like Hell you will!" I seem to be falling apart one piece at a time. Recently found out my gall bladder is full of rocks. I have an appointment with a surgeon next Monday. Yep, gettin' old sucks. But I guess it beats the alternative.

Glad you're doing good. Hang in there. Don't push it. Do the Pt. Hug your pillow and try not to laugh.

Ain't nobody cheap. Those days are long gone. I use Arms Fair Gun Transfer Portal in Cordova. This a separate operation from their regular gun shop. Different space in the same building. All they do is transfers. Prices are decent for this area and they make it quick and simple. Nice folks too. https://www.armsfair.com/gun-transfer

Diecast and toy show - Bartlett - Saturday July 22

It was our first time at this show. Its a small one. Wasn't exactly what I was expecting, but not bad. This is really my older son's side hustle. I just go along to keep him company and help out. It gets me out of the house and it can be pretty fun. My son is really more into video and table gaming. We usually go to Sci-fi/fantasy cons and sell stuff there. But this popped up and was right here, so he figured he'd give it a shot. There really wasn't much in the old steel and diecast stuff. Tonka trucks or the like. What little there was was over priced. There was tons of merchandising toys from just about every popular horror, sc-fi or TV franchise ever made. Some pretty rare and interesting. Two things that really surprised me. The Funko Pop figures were very popular. Lots and lots of them for sale. The kids seem to love them, but there are also serious adult collectors too. But for me the big surprise was Hot Wheels. Must have been 6-7 dealers selling only those. Thousands of 'em! I remember my kids playing with them and knew they were popular. As it turns out there's a whole world of very serious collectors out there. Prices ranged from loose, common cars thrown in a box at 50 cents a piece to rare collectibles still in original packaging and displayed under glass for up to $300. I guess people will get passionate about and collect just about anything. We gun nuts should know. -
I really think that's the problem. I can't remember seeing a tree trimming crew in years. BHunted: Damn Dude! I hope your insurance will cover all that. You have my condolences.

Once more time. Early this afternoon we had yet another quick, but hard storm passed through. And for the third time in 2 weeks my power went out. 7 hours this time. And yet again, I had to drag out the generator and run a bunch of cords to keep the fridge. freezer and a few other things running. Just this morning I sent my County Commissioner an e-mail asking about the problem and if anything could be done? He replied quickly and let me know that my city was having a public forum with MLG&W at 5:00pm today just to discuss this problem. But I missed it! Ya know why? I didn't get to read the e-mail until after 9:00pm because my power was out! As an added bonus, this time the outage messed up my computer. Seems it got tired of these sudden unexpected shutdowns and wouldn't restart. Thankfully, my oldest son is an IT guy. He came over and got it running again. Sorry for the rant, but this crap is getting on my very last nerve.

This sort of thing is why I chose to spend my career working on trucks and equipment.

Bear in mind that our government spends a billion dollars like its pocket change.

I've always wanted a nice Savage 99. But it seems that opportunity and money never come together at the same time.

Yep, I've also run my generator more in the last few months than in all the years I've had it. I don't think MLG&W is keeping up proper maintenance on the lines or trimming trees. Seems like every time the wind blows, the power goes out. What gets me is that all the power lines in my neighborhood are underground. But it seems its fed from poles in the surrounding area. When my power goes out, the whole neighborhood goes dead. I generally give a power outage 3-4 hours before breaking out the generator. I'm afraid its not that uncommon to lose power for an hour or two around here. But after that, you start risking the food in the fridge and freezer. So its time to fire it up. Its a PITA to drag that thing out and run a bunch of extension cords. But what else can ya do? At least I do have a generator. many folks don't. Latest update: 85,000 still without power. Downed poles and trees plus dead traffic lights are causing serious traffic problems. Be careful out there.

Once again a big storm blew through the Memphis area this afternoon. It hit about 5:30 this afternoon. Power is out to 121,000 this time. TV news showing lots of damage to trees and utility poles. Several people were trapped for hours when power lines fell on their cars. My power went out at 6:00pm, just came back a few minutes ago. I had my generator running and did just fine. But I'm not gonna put it away until tomorrow. last time this happened, my power came back for a few hours and then went out again for another whole day. I'm not taking any chances. How's everybody else around Memphis doing? This crap is gettin' old.

I picked up a SA-35 back in May. Love it! I'm a big Hi-Power guy anyway. I currently have five. Unfortunately range time has been kinda hard to come by the last couple of months. So far, I only have about 300 rounds through it. But Its performed perfectly. I read in the original articles that SA re-shaped the hammer slightly just to avoid the dreaded bite. He's mine along with a few friends.

I'm quite familiar with the M1 Carbine. I own two. I'm not sure what you mean by "as built". About 99% of them are a mix master of parts from many manufactures. Even brand new from the factory. Odds are that any all parts matching M1 Carbine was put together by a previous owner. Even so, shouldn't be too much trouble to find a matching replacement stock.
-
M1 carbine? if so, it would probably be easier to just buy a replacement stock.

PM inbound. That's great!
