  1. This evening I walk out into my front yard and see that one of my neighbors down the street already has their yard all lit up with Christmas decorations. WTF! Halloween was yesterday, Thanksgiving is in 4 weeks and they're already pushing Christmas?!! I'm nowhere near ready for this crap.
  2. If you want it to be, sure. The point is that good gunsmiths ain't cheap and could take a long time. Is the receiver drilled and tapped for a scope mount? I'm guessing it already has a scope on it? If so, you could go with a low power scope or optical sight fairly easily and do it yourself.
  3. Wow! I didn't realize she was that old. I always liked her. Good actress who excelled in the part of the ditzy blonde. Very funny lady. But she could also do drama as well. Sad to see her go.
  4. Ok, so you want iron sights on the rifle. Makes more sense now. Was the rifle ever set up for iron sights? Are there dovetails in the barrel, screw holes in the receiver and such? If so, it wouldn't be hard. If not, that's gonna require expensive mill work from a good gunsmith. It might be possible to add a band type front sight and a rear receiver sight without too much trouble. But that would also take a gunsmith that knew what he was doing. I know a guy in Memphis who could probably do it. But he stays very busy and it might be months, even a year or more before he could get to it. In fact, most every decent gunsmith is backed up big time. This won't be a quick project.
  5. I don't know of any company making fixed sights for a rifle. Every rifle needs to be zeroed now and then. However, many rifles use fairly simple sights that once zeroed are pretty much fixed. What kind of rifle and why fixed sights?
  6. Remove the magazine and pull the trigger. The gun must be uncocked. Look at the rear of the slide. Notice that circle around the firing pin hole. That's the slide catch. Use a punch, pen, pencil, whatever and push it in. Leave the slide in the full forward position. With the lock pushed in, lift up on the rear of the slide until it clears the frame. It should come off by moving it forward a bit and lifting up. BTW: be careful of that slide catch. Its spring load and will take off like a rocket. Another BTW: Note the direction of the firing pin. If you put it back in backwards the gun will go together, but it won't feed. Yep, its a cheap POS gun. But the darned things are absolutely reliable and go bang every single time. I like mine.
  7. I'm a long time fan of the Dead. I'm sorry to hear of Lesh's passing. But the band already died with Garcia.
  8. The feds are dumping their problem illegals on the States to deal with. They let them in and then we have to deal with and pay for them. Louisiana just sued ICE and the Feds for sending them an illegal Chinese man who has tested positive for a rare and highly contagious form of Tuberculosis. https://www.msn.com/en-us/health/other/illegal-chinese-immigrant-exposed-hundreds-in-louisiana-to-rare-tb-strain-state-sues-mayorkas-ice/ar-AA1sOBqv?ocid=hpmsn&cvid=92a5cdb0e77b4468b9d2bbf3bc7c0db4&ei=388
  9. Its still there, but now its a Quartet. The only Drive-In left anywhere close to Memphis.
  10. He also took a shot at Doc Savage in the 1970s. I saw the movie and he was pretty good. But the story and effects tried to go with a campy, pulp style and it failed miserably. Too bad, that could have gone into a whole series of movies.
  11. The guys says he owns ONE acre. Doesn't sound like near enough space to me. Plus there are local noise ordinances. On the plus side, he did built pretty good backstops. Just not sure if they're high enough. While I fully support shooting on private property, I'm not sure if this guy has a valid case. I hope he wins, but its not a sure thing.
  12. I found another video with more info. IDK, could go either way.
  13. State has already made it clear that any gun control passed by Memphis would be illegal and invalid. The state will take action if such local laws are passed. But the Memphis city council thinks they're "special" and can do as they please. Claiming Memphis faces greater danger than the rest of the state, so the rules shouldn't apply to them. The election commission tried to refuse the referendum on the ballot as its illegal, but a judge allowed it. The referendum doesn't pass anything. It holds no weight of law. Its merely an opinion poll. I'm hoping the citizens of Memphis vote it down. But considering that most of them are dumb ass liberals, its anybody's guess.
  14. You've made two posts about this and I still don't understand your point. Ok, they have rules about discharging firearms within the county. Beyond that, I'm lost.
  15. PM sent with question.
  16. The election commission's answer is to print out the gun referendum, laminate it and pass it around to the people in line to vote so they can read it while waiting. Yeah, like that's gonna work. Thankfully, I don't live in Memphis and have to deal with this stupidity.
  17. Memphis voters will be voting on a gun control referendum which the Election Commission says is causing problems as it too long. This thing will cover two full pages on the voting machines and could take voters up to 20 minutes to read. The State has already said its invalid and illegal, but a judge ruled that the voters get to express their opinions. We already know the lines will be long and voting will take time. But this BS adding an extra 20 minutes to the process could cause voters to get angry with long lines and waits. https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/city-s-gun-control-referendums-stretch-over-2-pages-on-ballot/ar-AA1skxJf
  18. Absolutely. A good friend of mine had a bullet casting business for years. He set up at every gun show within reasonable distance. People bought them, liked them and started coming to him for all their bullets.
