I have no idea. In In much of the world using a supressor is considered good manners.

Part of the problem is that you have a bunch of rich guys who have decided that nice classic guns are an "investment". The last few years have seen prices skyrocket on good older guns. This in turn has made the entire used gun market go up. What was a $500 gun just a year or so ago is suddenly selling for $800 or more.

The liberals have hit a new, all time low. They're posting on social media that Toby was a racist, fascist and they're glad he's dead. Just shows you that liberals have no respect for anybody that disagrees with them, even the dead. "F" 'em!

Most of the issues on this gun have already been pointed out. Just to add, the 6" barrel isn't near as popular as a 4". That will affect price some. However, its a desirable pinned and recessed model with honest wear. I'd put it in the $700-800 range.

Thanks for the offer. I will keep the FLGR and put it in the box the gun came in. If I should ever decide to sell it, I'll put it back just like it came.

Country music pretty much lost me years ago. But I did like Toby Kieth. He will be missed.

PM sent! Thank you very much. I knew you guys wouldn't let me down.

I bought a used 1911 that has a FLGR. I hate a FLGR! I plan to change it out to a standard type. I already have a spare recoil spring plug in stock. Here's the problem. Brownell's wants almost as much for shipping as the part costs. Midway has one that will do (although not my first choice) but estimates delivery at two weeks or more! Anybody in the Memphis area got a standard 1911 recoil spring guide rod they're willing to sell? Yeah, I know this should be in the classifieds. I just figured this would get noticed quicker.

Do you think Mike Rowe is right about US consumers?
Grayfox54 replied to BigK's topic in General Chat
I generally try to buy American and will pay a couple of bucks more for it. But I have to admit, that sometimes the foreign made stuff is not only cheaper, but better. Manufacturing in America has fallen badly. Which is a sad state of affairs. I think its primarily because of the economy. People, especially younger couples, go shopping. They need this and that. But due to monetary issues, they can only afford this OR that. Not both. So naturally, they're going to go for the cheapest they can find. Doesn't matter to them where its made just as long as its affordable. It won't be war or political upheaval that destroys this country. It'll be a complete collapse of our economy. -
I'm a bit surprised here. CMP has mostly dealt in genuine U.S. military surplus arms. I've never heard of them offering any commercial firearms except maybe a few .22 Target Rifles. I've always heard good things about Tisas. But then again, they just issued a massive recall on many of their 1911 pistols for a safety issue. The jury is still out for me. Gotta admit its a good price. But I wonder what kind of hoops you'll need to jump through to get one? They caught my attention, but I'll wait and see.

Sad to see another good one go.

BTDT. My Grandma would seriously light your butt up with a switch. I was a very good boy around her. -

It ain't the years, its the mileage. My odometer has done rolled over at least twice and I got the scars to prove it. I'm 69 and feel every day of it.

There was a PoFolks near my house. We ate there fairly regularly. Loved their Chicken fried steak with Red beans & rice. -

When I was growing up, my Grandparents still had a pipe well with a rope and bucket and used an outhouse. Kids today wouldn't even know what the Sears catalog was for. a And you had these for night use. A millennial would absolutely freak out if they had to use these! -
The Wife and I just had the sex talk with the boys.

"Son, its time we had a talk about sex." "Sure Dad. What do you wanna know?" -
I think ultimate responsibility falls on Chief C.J. Davis. She created the Scorpion Unit and turned them loose without proper supervision. She allowed this to happen on her watch. Memphis City Council has delayed her re-appointment under the new mayor. I believe she won't get her job back. Frankly, I hope she doesn't.

Memphis Area Meet and Greet
Grayfox54 replied to maroonandwhite's topic in Memphis's Memphis Chatter
Personally, I'd prefer we all just gather at a restaurant or such where can can relax, talk and get to know each other. But I'm open to just about anything. I'd really like to meet the local TGOers. As I've said before, nobody seems to want to take the lead and organize some type of meet. I'm no good at such things. Anybody wanna take charge? -
Reloading tips you don’t mind sharing
Grayfox54 replied to gregintenn's topic in Ammunition and Reloading
We all make mistakes. Sometimes you find yourself having to break down those mistakes with a hammer type bullet puller. Forget about that irritating spring loaded case holder that comes with it. Instead, use the shell holder from your die set. It fits perfectly in the hammer, is fast and easy to use.- 32 replies
