  1. A friend of mine used to carry a little Ruger LCP in his bib pocket.
  2. I saw that movie and frankly, I didn't pay much attention to where people got shot. Why did y'all notice? I guess now that when I see it again, I'll be paying attention. Its all your fault. I always kinda liked Will Smith. Not a huge fan, but he was acceptable. But now he's shown the world who he really is and its probably killed his career. I really don't care. As for Sondra Locke, her career began when she was dating Clint Eastwood and he put her in his movies. It ended as soon as they broke up. No big loss.
  3. I put a lot of the blame on the parents and the liberal education system. Kids are being taught that life should be fair and everybody is entitled to a good life. When it doesn't work out that way, they can't handle it. Some take out their frustrations with violence and others just go nuts.
  4. We don't have a "gun" violence problem. We have a violence problem. The gun is just the preferred weapon of choice. Mental illness has reached epidemic proportions and young people place no value on human life. Thus you have people trying to settle small disputes by shooting each other. Put the blame where it really belongs.
  5. I spent most of my career working in fleets. I've seen and worked on just about every brand of pick-up made. Nothing holds up better than a Ford. GMC/Chevy is pretty good. Ram is a piece of junk. Frankly, with all the government mandated emission garbage they're forced to hang on them, nobody has a good diesel anymore. None of them hold up well and cost a fortune to repair. One look under the hood will scare the poop outta ya. If I was in the market for a good, hard working diesel truck, I'd look for an older Ford 350/450 with the 7.3 diesel engine. Even if you had to rebuild it from the ground up, you'd have a better truck than anything they sell these days.
  6. They can't offer fair value because they have to resell at a profit. As mentioned, they also have overhead to consider. Generally, a FFL might give half of what they gun is actually worth. No laws against sales between private citizens in Tennessee. People do it all the time. I would suggest that you and buyer fill out a bill of sale just in the rare case that questions might be asked.
  7. A couple more reasons I don't go to the theater much anymore. I can't have popcorn due to Diverticulitis and at my age, its hard to sit for 2 hours without needing to pee. Especially if I get a drink.
  8. My local theater (20 screens) has survived by being one of very few ( maybe the only one) in the Memphis area to show Hindi/Bollywood movies along with some classics. Right now they have 3 Indian movies and "Coming Soon" they have The Never Ending Story, Rear Window and Blazing Saddles. Hey, whatever it takes to stay alive.
  9. When I retired, I used to go quite often when something good came out. I usually enjoy the big screen experience. I'd go to the first show in the middle of the week. Rarely more than 5 or 6 of us there. But frankly, the last few years there hasn't been much that I can't wait for it to stream. Not a damned thing I'm willing to spend money on.
  10. The man is a racing legend. But he's 75! He shoulda retired a long time ago. Anyway, I wish him well.
  11. For sci-fi fans. I caught this on Netflix (I think it was?) Pretty good flick. Worth a watch. Atlas: Human looking robots get smart and decide to end humanity. War follows, humans win, but head bad guy escapes. 28 years later, he's found on another planet, building an army and planning a return. Marines in Mech Suits go after him. Decent story, lots of action. Jennifer Lopez stars.
  12. That's a M-88 Tank Retriever. Its only gun is one Ma Deuce. But still impressive.
  13. So I guess it's a work around because of that "intent to go armed" line in our State Constitution. Ok, I get it. I really wish they would finally change that.
  14. I know that there's a difference between the two, but I get confused. What are the exact differences between Tennessee's Permitless carry and true Constitutional carry?
  15. So glad I had boys. Because if I'd had a daughter, by the time she turned 18, I'd either be in jail or dead.
  16. A true legend. They don't make 'em like that anymore.
  17. You won't do any better than a S&W .22 revolver. They come in several sizes from the small j-frame Model 34 to the larger K-frame Models 17 (6") and 18 (4"). All are outstanding guns. They ain't cheap, but worth every penny. My personal favorite is the 4" Model 18 on the bottom left. I shoot this gun more than any other gun I own and mostly in DA mode. I give this gun full credit for teaching me how to shoot a DA revolver.
