Fear The Walking Dead (Los Angeles spinoff)
Grayfox54 replied to monkeylizard's topic in General Chat
I pretty much feel the same way. While it is interesting to see how the apocalypse unfolds, I just can't get into these characters. Daniel and Strand are survivors. But they're stuck with a these losers which kills their chances. The rest would have been dead long ago. This whole groups survival up to this point is based on pure dumb luck. Nobody is that lucky. -
I clicked the link that glowdotGlock posted. Well there certainly aren't any shortages of theory's, that's for sure. It really amazes me how caught up in all this some people are. Some have gone to great lengths to scientifically prove there theories with video & audio evidence. Anyway the favorites seem to be Glen or Abraham, with a side of Aaron. Now here's a kicker for ya. It seems that someone leaked the schedule for season 7. Episode 1: Morgan & Carol's story Episode 2: Negan's rise to power. 90 minutes Episode 3: We finally find out who got whacked. So it looks like the producers wanna leave the fans hanging for a little while longer. Not the first time they've ended an episode on a cliffhanger only to wait a couple of weeks before giving the answer. :waiting:

I have one of these and they really are magnificent rifles. However, that price is at least $500 too high. Although it is NIB, that is the standard grade model. I'm thinking a more realistic price would be $1500.

Well gee, its Japan. I can't see where a few hot pigs would cause any real problems after all those years of dealing with Godzilla. ;)

The only way Daryl will die is if Norman Reedus decides he wants to quit the show. Even then, killing Daryl will basically be killing the show. When Dwight shot Daryl the week before, the hardcore fans on the internet nearly freaked out. :panic: So I seriously doubt it will be him. While I admit to being a fan of the show, I not nearly as "in to it" as many of the super fans who actually would riot if Daryl was killed off. So I hadn't really put all that much thought into it. Y'all make some very compelling arguments that it will be Glen. Ok, I change my vote. Glen it is. Besides, I like Abraham and would like to see him continue.
-
I seriously doubt it will be one of the women. Negan wants to show that he's the biggest, baddest guy in the world and not to be messed with. While the victim might well be Glen as in the comics, I'm thinking Negan will want to take out the biggest, baddest member of the group just to prove his point. That would obviously be Abraham.
-
For my money, I think it was Abraham that Negan whacked. Earlier in the episode he was talking to Sasha about maybe having kids. In this show, making plans for the future is a sure sign something bad is going to happen to ya. :stick: OTOH, could be that the producers are waiting for contract negotiations for next season. Whoever puts up the biggest fuss or wants the most money will likely be the victim.

Gun shop owner refuses to sell gun to eligible customer
Grayfox54 replied to DaveTN's topic in General Chat
Any business owner has the right to refuse service to any customer for any reason. I had a FFL for a while back during the 1980s. IIRC the rules stated that a dealer not only had the right, but a DUTY to refuse a sale to anyone who appeared to be intoxicated, suspicious, unstable or otherwise mentally incompetent. I don't know if that's still in the rules today. Any current FFLs care to chime in on this? -
Well I won't say I'm above being wrong. Lord knows that I make a habit of it. :foot: There's just several things that didn't look quite right to me. Most notably the ejector rod, but also the hammer, front sight and the grip logo. There aren't any pics of the right side. Is there a S&W logo on it? You said the only markings were on the cylinder. With only a few pics to go by, I made my best guess. If your guy says its a S&W, that's good enough. The first thing you learn about S&W is that anything is possible. My apologizes and enjoy it.

I guess I'm a bit late to this party, but I do have a couple. I'm partial to the U.S. guns. :usa: Get your paperwork together and make a little road trip to the CMP South Store in Anniston, Ala. There you can pick and choose from what they have in the store and take it home right then. The staff is extremely helpful and will loan you bore and chamber gauges to help you make a selection. That's what I did and have never regretted it. Come on now. The paperwork isn't that difficult, you get to pick your own rifle, you know its in good condition and its not that far of a drive from anywhere in Tennessee. Not to mention that it'll save a at minimum a several hundred over what you might find locally. CMP Garands won't last much longer. The supply is running out. The time to get one is NOW. ;)

I don't know what it is, but it ain't a Smith & Wesson. Quite possibly one of the many Spanish copies of S&Ws made in the early 20th century. They were intentionally made to look almost like a real S&W to fool unsuspecting buyers. S&W ended up suing the makers of these guns and won. I would need a clear, close up pic of the grip emblem and cylinder markings to make a better guess. Quality of these guns was dubious at best.

I thank God that I had sons. If I had had a daughter, I'm sure that by the time she turned 18 I'd either be in jail or dead. True story: A co-worker of mine had a rather attractive daughter. When she was around 16-17 her date showed up to take her out. Dad insisted on meeting him. Turns out that this guy was 22. Skeptical, but not wanting to disappoint his girl, Dad started laying down the rules including what time to be home. This guy's response was "I'm a grown man. I do what I want!" Dad's response was to shove a 9mm in this jerks mouth and back him out the door! The girl never heard from him again. :biglol:

I've been to two in memphis. First time I bought an RG-22 from a co-worker for $10. Gun was a POS. Wouldn't fire half the time and couldn't hit when it did. I got it for the sole purpose of turning it in. Got a $25 gas and a $50 grocery gift certificates for it. Nice profit for me. Second time the buy back was at the old fairgrounds. Just so happened that there was a gun show in another building right across the parking lot. I went to the gun show and the place was really busy, huge crowd. Just out of curiosity I checked out the buy back. That place was a ghost town. Nobody there but the staff. IIRC they took in about 20 guns that day and all were total junkers. Both times I took extra money with the intent to check out what folks in line were turning in and offer cash for anything worth having. Didn't see a single gun worth making an offer on. Both of these buy backs were back in the early 1990s. Nobody has been stupid enough to try it again since. :screwy:

Mosul dam break anytime killing 1 million people

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PAqxWa9Rbe0 Well somebody had to do it! :hat: -
Like many good pranks it sounds like a great idea at the time, but somehow they usually find a way to bite you in the butt.

That's my point. Its all about money. Headlines equal bigger budgets. Don't get me wrong. I'm by no means excusing abuse of power by anyone. I've known a lot of LEOs in my time and the vast majority are good people who just want to protect and serve. How they go about that is directly affected by their superiors. When the agency you work for not only allows, but encourages the abuse of authority, even good men can fall victim to the siren's call of power. I seriously doubt that any "bad cop" started out that way. Over time they learned just what they could get away with until that becomes their norm. I totally agree that the individual is responsible for their own actions. But absolute power corrupts absolutely.

NSFW: The Religion of Peace Decapitates 4yr old
Grayfox54 replied to CommsNBombs's topic in General Chat
Radical Islam has declared war on the rest of humanity. World War III has already begun, but political correctness BS prevents any government from admitting it or taking the harsh, but necessary action to stop it. Failure to act hard enough and fast enough will be our undoing. -
Yeah, there are some bad cops/agents out there. Especially on the Federal level. But I believe that the vast majority are good people who are just trying to do a job. I place the blame on administrations that not only allow, but encourage this sort of behavior. Its all about money. Every alphabet agency in the federal government is in a constant battle for funding. Those that make the big busts and get the headlines get the most of our tax dollars. I believe that the Waco incident was intended to be a fund raiser. Let's go bust this crazy cult, bag 'em on some weapons charges and throw in some child abuse. Arrest about 100 of them and grab the big headlines. Yep, that will get us a lot of attention and a big raise in next year's budget. Only the Branch Davidians didn't co-operate and the whole thing went to crap real quick. UH OH! Time to back peddle, regroup and cover up. But that didn't go so well either. Mistakes were made and more mistakes were made trying to save asses. Don't blame the agent, blame the agency.

I looked at the Rugers. Nice, but I was never compelled to buy one. I own 4 Springers. All are outstanding guns. I highly recommend them. Plus, Springfield has the absolute best customer service in the gun industry. Not that you'll need it, but its comforting to know. ;)
-
I looked and saw a couple of interest. Even bid on one. But, with the 10% and the fact that for me its about an 8-9 hour round trip drive, the prices have already gone way beyond me. In fact, many have already gone way beyond reasonable. I do believe there's gonna be a lot of disappointed people when they go to pick up their prize.

The guy was a major A-hole and a truly bad example as a gun owner/dealer. He got what he deserved. :poop:

I have a German P220 made in the mid-90s. Put the SRT kit in it and couldn't be happier with it. An upgrade well worth the cost.
