There's a bit of a story behind the Raven. I saw a for sale ad several years ago. Guy said it had feed problems and make an offer. I got it for $20. Took it home, turned the firing pin around the way it should be and its worked like a champ ever since. A week or so later my best friend dropped by and I showed it to him. His reaction was "I want this! Sell it to me!" So I let him have it for what I paid. After he passed, his wife and I were going through the gun safes when I ran across it again. I handed his wife $20 and stuck it in my pocket. I doubt I'll ever sell it again.

Yeah, believe it or not, I have a thing for mouse guns. Little .22 & 25 acp pistols that'll fit in your shirt pocket. I don't know why I'm so fond of them. But under certain circumstances where deep concealment is required, I have carried one as my primary.

Back some years ago, when I went to the range it would be an all day affair. I'd get there early and stay till closing. This one day, early in the morning and not many people there yet, I heard a "BOOM!". Wondering what the Hell was that! I wandered down the line to check it out. Found the guy with a nice bolt action. I forget the brand. I asked him about it and he told me it was a .458 Winchester. Said he was sighting it in. We talked for a couple of minutes and I went back to my shooting. The range got busy and so did I. Then late in the afternoon, once again I heard "BOOM!". I looked and sure nuff, that guy was still here. I walked down and the conversation went something like this: "Wow Man! I'm surprised you're still here?" "Yeah, but just about to finish up." "How many rounds have you fired through that thing?" "SIX".

You've done about all you can. Keep walking the area with the other dog. Get it to bark if you can. The lost one is more likely to respond to the other dog than a human.

I don't know much about the area. But I will advise that before you buy you go by and introduce yourself to the neighbors, Ask them about the immediate area. . Most should be nice and friendly. However, crack heads and meth labs do like small towns. More than once I've seen a dream move ruined by bad neighbors. Best to find out before you buy. Wouldn't be a bad idea to talk to local LEOS too.

You say the gun is pointed down? I take it the entire crane assembly falls out? If so, I agree with Dave. The retaining screw is either missing or damaged. Easy fix once you get a new screw.

No need to. My understanding is that if you legally own it, you can carry it. Private sales are completely legal here.

I've always had problems shooting the traditional Colt style single actions. They just don't fit my slightly arthritic hands and the trigger guard beats hell outta my middle finger knuckle. I just can't shoot one worth a hoot . But like you, I occasionally get the urge for a Cowboy gun. I've owned about a half dozen Colt style or Ruger single actions over the years and ended up selling them all. Try thinking outside the box. I found this a few years ago. A true cowboy gun that fits me much better and the only single action I currently own. Its a bit above your price range, but its a keeper. Navy Arms (Uberti) Schofield

Ok, I just put my money where my mouth is. Just now renewed GOA membership and signed up for 5 years with SAF. Sent them both an extra $100 too. I'm also a long time member of TFA. Good folks fighting in our backyard. Ok guys, time to put up or shut up. Who'll join me? The fight is fixin' to get rough after two mass shootings and the democrats/media in a frenzy.
-
I'm really fed up with the NRA. their current mess and all their compromise crap. I'll stay a member but don't give them anything extra. Long time member of GOA. They don't compromise and don't back away from a fight. They're the pit bulls in the gun rights world. They I contribute some extra money to. I honestly don't know why I never joined SAF? I need to correct that mistake.

Looks like the TN ammo tax has been repealed

Yeah, that's how I ended up with them. When my friend passed away, he had a ton of ammo that he'd bought off the internet. An FFL friend of mine noticed that had no stickers and I was intending to take this stuff to a gun show. He told me what could happen. It turned out that getting them was as simple as a phone call. So I did. Still got about 250 of them. They're worthless now. Maybe I'll use them as some kind of decoration. Maybe in 10-20 years they'll be collectibles. Ya never know. -
And just where do they plan to get the money for this nationwide buy back program? Oh yeah, they'll just print more and put the country even deeper in debt. But then it may not matter. I doubt very many will get turned in.

Mental illness for sure. But, I think its more a lack of morality. Young people today have a very skewed idea of right and wrong. Parents have failed to teach them, schools are nothing more than liberal training centers, religion is a thing of the past. Good jobs are hard to find, many college degrees are almost worthless. Many young people in this country have lost hope. They see no real future for themselves. They simply quit caring.

I've got a couple hundred of those tax stickers. Anybody want 'em? Half Price! -
Well these nuts had bad timing. Congress is in recess until Sept. 6. By the time they go back in session, this stuff will be way down the list. The media will have already moved on to the next crisis. The citizens are well known for their short attention spans. I think it'll all just blow over.

Evening news says: Young man, early 20s. Picture shows a AK type rifle in his hands. Taken into custody without incident. No shots fired by Police. Brief mentions of the words "socialist" and "manifesto". I'm guessing that what we have here is crazy young man with a agenda he wants to spread. I'm also guessing he intends to use his trial as a platform.

My late friend was something of a SKS collector. He told me once that his goal was to have at least one from every factory that ever built one. When he passed, he had about a dozen of them. The most he ever paid for one was maybe $100. We sold them in the $250-300 range and they went very quickly.

The 1911 is an easy gun to work on. I don't have the equipment to do machine work. I've never fitted a barrel. But I have done pretty much everything else to one. Just go slow, take your time and test fit often. Remember that its easy to remove metal, but damned hard to put it back. I highly recommend Jerry Kuhnhausen's book on gunsmithing the 1911. Years ago I asked an old gunsmith how do you get in this business? His reply was "Jump in and go for it. But be prepared to pay for your mistakes."

I went to the website. Checked on a claim and was told my info was not impacted. So apparently, I'm clear. Good luck to the rest of you.

Check the engine oil. If its full, you likely just blew a hydraulic hose. Cheap fix, but some of them can be a real booger to get to.
-
Forget AR-10s. if you want to shoot 308s (7.62x51) get yourself an M1A. You won't regret it.

I'm not familiar with Huskys, so I can't offer any specific advise. However, in general, most makers have gone out of their way in efforts to make mowers as idiot proof as possible. There are probably at least a half dozen safety switches that cover anything from blade engagement, neutral start or the seat. Plus many also have engine oil and hydraulic oil sensors. Any of which can shut down the engine and cause a no start condition. If you're not mechanically inclined, take it to the dealer. The oil on the ground concerns me. Never a good sign. Can you tell if its engine oil or hydraulic oil? Hyd oil may just be a blown hose. Engine oil could get real expensive. Most hydrostatic drive systems do have a way to relieve pressure or disengage so the mower can be pushed. Check your owners manual.

I've got an M&P-15 Sport II. Pretty good rifle, completely reliable with everything I've put in it. Combat accurate, but no tack driver.

Actually I have some GGG. Pretty good stuff, but I don't think its NATO spec. Groups well, but tends to shoot about 3" high and left compared to other surplus with the NATO cross on it. I just finished prepping about 250 GGG cases to reload. Damn they put one hell of a crimp on the primer!
