  1. Not much in the SCSW about these guns. It seems they were only made for two years (2004-2005) and were then discontinued in 2006.
  2. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
  3. If you think GB is bad, take a peak at Armslist. Especially the ammo ads. There's a guy on the Memphis Armslist with 2 bricks of CCI Small Rifle Primers for sale. Asking price is $250 per brick!
  4. Things are looking up. I got this response from TFA: TFA has written and provided bill language to proposed bill sponsors. We expect to see the bill filed next week. John Harris Executive Director
  5. Here's a link: https://sanctuarycounties.com/2020/08/19/tennessee-second-amendment-sanctuary-counties-map-august-16-2020-2/
  6. I was just curious. I know Shelby Co. recently lowered to age to 70.
  7. Don't you still have to be one of the special people or over age 70?
  8. Just fired off an e-mail to TFA asking them to push this. Please add them to your e-mail list as well. Like I said, its mainly about getting the idea out there.
  9. Right now 59 of our 95 counties have passed 2A Sanctuary resolutions. I don't think it would take much convincing at all to get this passed. But we have to let our legislators know we want this. Otherwise, it'll just get ignored in the bureaucratic shuffle. I did hear back from one rep thanking me for bringing it to his attention. He did say he would look into it. He's very pro-gun and I hope he actually will. So, how many of you have contacted your legislators?
  10. Local hardware store? Is there a Fastenal store or contractor's supply near you?
  11. That looks great!. I have one that's not nearly that nice. They are wonderful little pistols. I guess that since it was Grandpa's that you'll never sell it?
  12. If I was to win, I'd probably have to break down and buy a second AR.
  13. Sad story, but it can happen with any type of on-line FTF transaction. Many people have been robbed or killed when trying to purchase stuff off Craig's List or similar sites. On-line car deals are especially hot due to large amounts of cash. Food delivery drivers are common victims. Go armed, with another person if possible, daytime and highly visible public place. Stay very alert and if anything at all just feels wrong, no deal and get out quick.
  14. We all know what's coming from Washington. Many Counties in TN have already passed 2A Sanctuary resolutions. However, I'd like to get a movement going to have the entire state of Tennessee declared a 2nd Amendment Sanctuary. I think that with a little nudging from the citizens that this could be done. It won't stop the feds, but it will send a message that we want no part of their BS. I sent e-mails to my State Senator and Representative today. I strongly urge everyone here to do so and encourage all your friends to join in too. The time to speak up is now.
  15. This Korean stuff was made for the M1 Garand for use by the Korean Military. Even came packed in the standard 8 round clips.
  16. Good point. When I was dealing with my late friend's collection I found a fairly large supply of corrosive Korean .30-06 mil-surp ammo. Shockingly, I also found the bore of his M1 Garand was a rusty mess. My guess is that he shot some of that ammo and forgot to clean the rifle. Thankfully, with a bit of elbow grease, the bore cleaned up just fine.
  17. One of the working theories is that this is intentionally way over the top and they don't expect it to move. However, It will make the next effort look more reasonable.
  18. A lot of normal capacity guns were sold with 10 round mags. A couple of years ago I bought a Hi-Power clone NIB that was imported in the late 90s. It came with two factory 10 rounders because that was all that was allowed at the time. Or you could just switch to bigger bullets as in a single stack .45. BTW: if you want any normal capacity mags, now's the time to get 'em. When the assault weapon ban happened in 94, normal magazines were selling at the speed of light and prices got plumb crazy. I'm talking $100+ for one otherwise common pistol mag.
  19. I'd be tempted to at least give it a try. Who knows, it might shoot just fine. With steel bullets and cases, I see no point in disassembling it except to just scrap it. I wouldn't bother to reload it.
  20. Well I thought it was British Radway Green. But it seems Garufa found the real answer. Didn't realize the Chinese counterfeited ammo. But then again, all the Radway Green I've ever used was packed in 20 round cardboard boxes. Well that just sucks.
  21. Can you post a pic of the headstamp? That'll probably answer your question.
  22. What you have is your basic Colt "D" frame revolver. The Cobra is a lightweight, alloy framed version of the classic Detective Special. Your's appears to be a 1st Issue revolver made between 1950-72. We would need the serial number to find the exact year of manufacture. The .32 Colt New Police cartridge is the exact same round as the .32 S&W Long. The only difference being that Colt loaded it with a flat point bullet where S&W used a round nose. You can shoot .32 S&W Long ammo in that no problem. The Colt "D" frames have always been popular and the lightweights even more so. However, the .32 caliber will detract a bit from its value. Those grips don't help much either. I'd guess that to be about a $500-550 gun. Edit: Just saw where you added a pic with the serial #. Your gun was made in 1966. Further research indicates a factory original nickle finish.
