Very nice! I wish I had picked up a Dan Wesson VBOB in the Duty Treat finish before they were discontinued. Alas, I snoozed and I lost. May have to check out an ECP! How would you compare it to the ECO?

Great write-up and review! This is one gun that's definitely on my short list...

Wow, that's a nice price!

I recently picked up a .45 Shield as well, and I have to agree with you, Steelharp - this is a fantastic little gun! I find that it shoots almost as accurately as my 1911 commanders, and that's saying something. The recoil is *much* less than it should be for a small, polymer .45 - noticeably less than my XDs .45 with a 4" barrel. And I absolutely love the aggressive grip texturing! No doubt, this one's a keeper!

I am wanting to give one of my handguns to my father-in-law, who lives in Georgia. I want to make sure that we cross every "t" and dot every "i" legally in the process. Can we simply meet up at an FFL in Georgia and do the transfer there? Or does it have to involve an FFL on my end here in Tennessee as well? Thanks!

Yep, I can identify. I really don't have a need for it, and I definitely can't afford it right now. But man oh man, I want one of these pretty badly... https://grabagun.com/smith-and-wesson-686-deluxe-357mag-3-ss-as-7rd.html

I second the advice to get to a range and try them all out - that could very well save you some money in the long run. I had both a Gen 4 Glock 19 and a CZ 75B. Based solely on feel, the CZ was the winner hands down. CZ is famous for their ergonomics for a reason. And the Glock? Well, it felt like a Glock - not completely terrible, but nothing special either. But when it came to actually shooting them, I shot the Glock better - much better actually. I could speculate on the reasons for that (didn't care for the CZ sights, differences in triggers, etc). But I say all that just to say again, try them out for yourself first if you can. I bet the choice will be a lot easier for you then.

So I bit on this deal today... https://www.recoilgunworks.com/sauer...n-p-36295.htmlTwo things intrigued me about it. For one thing, I don't have a .40, and should good 9mm and possibly .45 defensive ammo become scarce again, I'd like to have options. And second, I just love Sigs. There's something about them to me. I love the way they look and the way they feel. I don't shoot them particularly well for some reason, at least compared to others - but I'm hoping to improve that with a little more trigger time. For those of you who have a p239, especially in .40, what are your opinions of the gun?

When I first got my G19, I had a similar experience. The grip angle was different, it felt weird, and I didn't shoot it very well. But the more I shot it, the better it felt, and the better it grouped. Mine is a Gen 4, and for people with somewhat smaller hands like me, the 4's without a backstrap make a difference. It is one of my favorite carry guns now - though I'll always prefer a 1911 if given a choice. I say all that to say, don't give up on it until you get a lot more trigger time on it first. But, as others have mentioned, if you continue to shoot it for a while and it still doesn't feel right to you and shoot as accurately as you'd like, don't hesitate to move on from it and try out some others that fit you better. There are so many good options out there.

I have a G19 that is one of my primary carry guns. I rented a VP9 at a range a couple of weeks ago. Ergonomically, the VP feels great. But I actually found that I prefer the Glock overall. I think it's primarily the trigger for me - the reset on the VP9 was a tad too long. I shoot the Glock better as well.

Great choice. You could't lose either way. Enjoy that Loaded!

I didn't know that about the special Tuesday & Thursday price. I've been wanting to check them out, but $25 for a half-hour is a LOT on the steep side. $10 is much more reasonable. Thanks for the info!

You're definitely right - the SA trigger is amazing! And honestly, the DA ain't bad either...
-
Just saw this. Interesting. Oh well, I guess if Smith and Wesson can make a 1911... :D (JK, I think S&W makes a fine 1911 - just hard to wrap my mind around that fact...)

Great review. Good information. Thanks!

I was under the impression that these had just been released. How long have they actually been available?

Not to derail Broox's thread, but what do y'all think of the new Performance Center Shield with the fiber optic sights and ported barrel? I get the sights, but I'm not sure what the point was of porting the barrel on a small carry gun. Is the trigger that much better than the regular Shield without the Apex?
-
Yeah, he shot it about like I shoot my pistols - with the exception of my 1911's... :usa:
-
Y'all are a lot more observant than I am. I watched that very same video, and didn't notice the round count. All I noticed was that he wasn't able to shoot it very accurately...
-
The more I see and read of this, the more I like it. Steelharp, how would you say the 45 compares with the old SR45?
-
I actually kinda like the way it looks. But I'm weird anyway... :surrender:

Thanks. From what I've seen of this one, I can definitely see how you'd be a connoisseur of the Sig-ness. I have a 938 and a 238, but this is my first full-sized Sig. I can see a p220, p227, or Sig 1911 in my future...
-
Thanks. It really is a nice package.

Thanks. A lot of the "Legion" stuff is Sig marketing hype, but the gun does have a few improvements over the basic p226, at least to me. Here's a link that talks about a few of them. http://legionseries.com/p226-legion/

Couldn't resist any longer. Did a lot of reading and research on the internet, asked about it on the forum here, found a Sig p226 Legion at a local gun store at a very competitive price (still higher than any other gun I've EVER bought - thankfully got some gun funds for Christmas), and pulled the trigger this afternoon. If it shoots as good as I think it looks and feels, I'll be very, very satisfied.
