I do the the soak and blow method....been donin it for 60 years .  Take off any plastic....rubber etc.  soak it in turpintine.  I let it soak over night then take my parts brush and go over it.  Take the air compressor and blow the..... you know what out of it..   Be sure and do this outside and wear goggles for your eyes.  Very seldom do I take a gun down....unless I'm lookin for worn parts.  You must do a good lube after that.

Regal Cinemas is now posting a policy that they will search the bags of patrons wishing to watch movies in their establishments. Guess who gets scapegoated.     Debate is brewing over a major security change to protect you at the movies.     Local 6 has learned in response to the recent attacks at theaters across the country, Regal Cinemas is now searching customers before allowing anyone inside.     A printed sign hangs in the front ticket counter at Regal Cinemas Winter Park Village 20 alerting customers to the change.     The sign reads, “For the safety and comfort of all our guests: Backpacks and bags of any kind are subject to inspection prior to entry to this facility.”     The manager confirms this is a new corporate security policy. Workers said it comes after the recent spat of theater shootings; one in Lafayette, Louisiana and another outside Nashville, Tennessee.  It’s a policy change that some welcome, with some guests saying bags are also checked at places like Walt Disney World and college football games.     “It’s probably just a reaction, and then as time goes on, they’ll just stop doing it eventually,” Alexandra Hernandez said.     On Regal’s Facebook page, backlash came quickly from across the country with some complaining about medical safety issues, and others about conceal carry gun rights.     One woman posted on the company’s Facebook page, “Just returned 2 movie tickets because ticket collector wanted to check my bag for a gun… Didn’t ask to frisk my husband who was also carrying so i guess your policy isn’t flawless.” I’m sure the bored teenagers that are tasked to conduct these bag checks are thrilled with their new role as bag screeners, which will no doubt result in customer anger, claims of racial profiling, and (not unwarranted) charges of sexism. This “security theater” (pardon the pun) is of course absurd, as most people who do carry firearms typically carry them on their bodies. Those who carry off-body make up a small fraction of both legal concealed carriers and criminals. I’d also be willing to bet real money that Regal’s policy doesn’t have the first clue how to search a purpose-designed concealed carry purse or bag, and that theater goers will have no problem whatsoever using them to get firearms into theaters if they so desire. This is not a serious attempt at security by Regal Cinemas… so what is really going on? If Regal Cinemas actually cared about the safety of their customers, they would take steps to end laws that create “gun free zones,” which is where 93% of all mass shootings take place. They have not done so. It is far more likely that Regal’s new bag search policy is designed to protect something else… their concessions profits. The bag search policy is much more likely aimed at keeping young mothers from bringing in low-cost, healthy snacks and drinks for their children hidden in their purses or diaper bags. If a young mother brings in snack bags of trail mix and bottles of water or natural juices in her purse to feed her Pixar-fixated progeny, Regal misses out on fleecing her out of another $20 in stale popcorn and tooth-rotting sugar water. Gov. Haslam agrees with city's view on no guns at fair "posted" 9/11/15 NASHVILLE — Gov. Bill Haslam said Friday he agrees with the city of Knoxville’s decision to ban all guns from the Tennessee Valley Fair because Chilhowee Park isn’t a city park as defined by a new state law allowing handgun-carry permit holders to go armed in local parks. But the governor, who is the former mayor of Knoxville, also said the new Knoxville controversy points to the need to clarify the law when the Tennessee Legislature reconvenes in January. Knoxville Mayor Madeline Rogero said Thursday that guns, including those carried by permit holders, won’t be allowed at the fair because the new state law prohibiting cities and counties from banning permit-holders from going armed in local parks under their control doesn’t apply to Chilhowee. Although Chilhowee Park is owned by the city, city officials contend it is not a “park” as defined by the law but rather a “public assembly, entertainment and education venue used for civic events and by contractors for special events.” Asked Friday about the city’s action, Haslam said, “I’m not a lawyer so I can’t get in there, but I think the mayor’s point there is that by any definition of a city park — it’s not run by the city Parks and Recreation Department — it doesn’t fit that definition. So I’ll trust the city’s law department, the conclusions they’ve come to.” When he signed the guns-in-parks bill into law in April, Haslam urged legislative leaders in a letter to monitor its implementation, in part because of its confusing language. In August, when Tennessee Attorney General Herbert Slatery issued an advisory opinion saying cities, counties and contractors cannot ban permit-holders from going armed in paid, ticketed events like concerts and other events in local parks, the governor reiterated his concerns about the law’s clarity and said lawmakers should review it in light of the opinion. He repeated that concern on Friday. “I do think there’s a need for clarification, because you have a lot of situations where, OK, what exactly is a park? When some people think of parks, they’re thinking of big empty fields or forests that are very different from the case at Chillhowee Park in Knoxville and a few others. So I would like to see some clarification around that,” the governor told reporters after a speech to National Guard officials from around the country at the Opryland Hotel in Nashville. On Thursday, Rogero issued a statement saying “Chilhowee Park is not managed as a city of Knoxville park by the Parks and Recreation Department, nor does it function as a park or recreation facility. It has, for a number of years, been managed and marketed by the city’s Public Assembly Facilities Department for entertainment events and exhibitions. Therefore, guns will continue to be prohibited at Chilhowee Park, pursuant to state law, including at events such as the Tennessee Valley Fair.” That has gun-rights activists locally and statewide up in arms, contending the city’s action violates the new state law. The Tennessee Firearms Association issued an “urgent call to action” to its members by email Thursday, encouraging them to call the governor, the mayor and Knoxville Law Director Charles Swanson and ask that the fair “comply with state law.” TFA Executive Director John Harris said the city’s ban “places permitted citizens at risk of arrest if they attempt to enter Chilhowee Park with their lawfully carried handgun.” He also said it may place the city and the far “at risk of being sued for violating the civil rights of handgun permit holders.”   The Associated Press contributed to this story.

A Very Serious Prayer Request I have a prayer request for all my friends. We all know what can come from prayer. In this case, there’s a lady I've known all my life. Today, she's very sick and on some days it appears she is dying. On top of that, she's being abused by those she has given everything to all her life. Lies about her abound, and seem to come from all sides. Just breaks my heart. Seems there's nothing I can do alone. But maybe, if we join in and lift her up to God and ask for His help, she can begin to recover. She's well over 200 years old, but way too young to die. Her name is America ... and I love her.
