I live in an all republican district, but I would point out that, unlike the Republicans, Democrats have voted en bloc on every major law and action from well before Obama was in office IIRC. They think that their vision of America is supported by the constituents that elected them into office to begin with; therefore, THEY VOTE WITH THEIR PARTY and thus do not give a what you or I say. Even Democrats that live in a closely divided electorate have voted en bloc, i.e. Manchin. They all do polls of their constituents to see were they sit on issues, so don't think that if the majority of their constituents support "common sense" gun control that they will consider your rights when they vote for the law. The only thing that gets their attention is when the people fight back - hence the barbed wire-topped fence and National Guard soldiers surrounding the capital building.

I was being facetious.

What's that got to do with rappers in a strip club?

Utah moves to Constitutional Carry

Glad to hear it but we still have RINOs in state government. -
I wouldn't know anything about that.

Utah moves to Constitutional Carry

Wasn't Utah's permit reciprocity restrictive as in they didn't accept TN's permit? If so this is huge. -
I am 6'4" and 340lbs. I find that a small of the back at 5:00 is pretty comfortable. My problem is that in the summer I wear shorts with drawstrings.

I guess dude will be working on his accuracy after that!

I've tried it but it doesn't do for me.

IMHO, this is on point. I've never shot someone but I have come extremely close to doing so. I was working security in a bar district of Kansas City back in the mid-80's. There were 16 bars in a 3-block area, and the police didn't come down there between 7:00PM and 4:00AM unless they were called. Ostensibly, the security team was the law enforcement of those 3-blocks. As the sergeant running the security detail I was the lead for all incidents. One of my guards called that there was a fight breaking out in one of the parking lots, and when I got there I saw a white guy with a baseball bat trying to beat a black guy with a tire tool. It was clear to me that the black guy was just trying to protect his self. I drew my revolver and ordered them to put down their weapons to which the black guy immediately responded. The white guy thought that that was his opportunity to swing for the fences. I had learned a couple of things using revolvers back in the day. One thing relevant to this incident is that a suspect will pick-up on the cylinder turning in a revolver. I pulled the trigger to just before it broke while giving a final command to stop. Even through alcohol, the white guy apparently saw the cylinder turn, stopped, and dropped his bat. I tell of this incident to make a point about the aftermath to give some flavor to the idea of a "limited statement." I became so angry at the white guy for putting me in the position of nearly taking his life that I couldn't even deal with him. All I wanted to do to him was to beat the crap out of him, so I had another guard handcuff him, record any statements that he made, and watch him. Adrenaline and anger consumed me, and it took a long time for me to level out again. I can't imagine what my state of mind would have been had I killed him. I imagine that I would have added the feeling of guilt over taking a life, and the feeling of fear of the repercussions in my life of doing so. Even though I did the right thing I questioned myself repeatedly, and I did so verbally to the guards that were present. For some reason I felt compelled to justify my actions that were already justified under Missouri laws. I imagine that had police officers been there I would have done the same, but I will point out that bystanders were there and many could probably hear what I was saying. Granted, people react differently to a given event; however, there is no way that anyone knows how they'll react until it is real for them. Your "limited statement" applies to everyone; not just the police because the bystander(s) will be witnesses to not only what you did but also to what you say before, during, and after the shooting. You should have a plan as to what you will say and when. My plan to to STFU until the police get on scene. When they do get there my statement will be blunt as to identifying myself as the victim, and that I will cooperate with a complete statement once I have calmed down and have my lawyer present.

I'm 60 but I have co-morbidities. Does that make me special?

I got my call from the Murfreesboro VA and have an appointment for next Saturday.

I'm actually putting a new set of tires on my wife's car tomorrow. I hope that they actually last the 70k that they claim to be rated for. That'd last her about 3 years once the COVID lock-downs are over.

What I thought weird about the story is that the dude shot the buyer but not the passenger. Makes me wonder if there's more to the story. -
Why I Don't Do Gun Business With Perfect Strangers
E4 No More replied to E4 No More's topic in General Chat
I don't consider TGO members to be perfect strangers. But before I agree to meet anyone from TGO I look at their post counts to see if they are established or not. I red flag any for sale ads from new members. I only post guns that I want to sell on TGO. -

Sad indeed. Out of the main characters of Young Frankenstein that leaves only Teri Garr alive.

I was at the VA last Tuesday for my primary care physician visit. I was told they were at age 65 and up, and that it would probably be another two weeks until they open up to my age (60). I kind of wish that they were giving the Johnson & Johnson vaccine as many "experts" seem to think that it's better for long-term effectiveness.

U-Haul says TN saw the most one way rentals in 2020
E4 No More replied to Erik88's topic in General Chat
Many people moving great distances will hire a mover for most of their stuff and take some things in a U-Haul because of logistics. Many people also do not trust movers, or can't find movers in conjunction with their timing. Some are military members that aren't of high enough rank to have the military move them. I'm sure there are more reasons than I just listed that are not due to being poor. -
Yep, I'm aware - I've had extensive training in biology and microbiology although that was back around 1995. Back then the scientific community was debating whether a virus was a form of life or not since it cannot create it's own DNA/RNA. Without a source of water the virus would survive off of what water is inside its version of a cell membrane until it is depleted. That would depend on the surrounding humidity and the permeability of the tegument and the envelope.
-
Actually, the government and private researchers were reporting that the virus could live for days on a surface - long after the droplet evaporated.
