How much of a shadow is the suppressor casting with the hang over the light like that?
-
Bingo. I'd imagine that the time frame is more friendly towards the dealership, however. I would never get into a situation like this, but I'm very wary of auto dealers. Almost to a point of paranoia. A deposit so they can find a car is asking to be disappointed in my mind. Having one on order pending delivery from the manufacturer is about as far as I'd go, and even only if I ordered it through a trusted source like my banks car buying service.

My daughter wanted to shoot yesterday for the first time
btq96r replied to Johnny Rotten's topic in Show and Tell
Very cool. Now you just have to teach her that leaning back doesn't put more distance between her and the rifle since the rifle moves back with her as she leans. -
Just finished sending the payments. You guys should be getting emails about them soon. Please let me know when you do, or if you don't after today. Thanks.

The perfect day, some may have a different perspective

Not that the whole thing isn't BS (it is), but since we're a gun centric forum, I figured this would be the one part to point out. Yeah, about that guy... http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/01/08/stanley-mcchrystal-gun-control_n_2431063.html Great Special Operations Commander, decades of honorable service in uniform, but certainly not my choice for Homeland Security Secretary. -
I'll set up the disbursement of your winnings tonight or tomorrow morning. I'll PM either of you if I need your emails again. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk, because I felt that Oh Shoot wanted to know that particular bit of information.

Whatever is easier for you. I can send it via PayPal, or mail a check. Let me know. Same for you, Lumber_Jack.

This is the only objective he's after with any EO on guns. He knows that he can't get more without Congress making changes to existing laws in the USC or CFR, but he needs to get the anti-gun groups happy enough to write checks for Democratic candidates (or run ads against Republican candidates) in the 2016 election cycle. I doubt anything with real enforceable consequences that impede gun ownership or sale will come from this.

Nice to know we got hustled by a pro.[emoji1] Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk, because I felt that Oh Shoot wanted to know that particular bit of information.

Appreciate all the comments, keep them coming if there are more. I ordered some Tetra from Amazon since it was pretty cheap and will give it a go. Thanks again.

For the sake of Lumber_Jack's ego we'll go with that. Otherwise he got his arse spanked quite harshly by someone who was playing for fun and not $300.

Just think, Newt Gingrich would have been good getting get gas down to $2.50. Glad we didn't elect him!

Yeah, the guy who didn't even know how much he stood to win is going to come home with the top prize. :P You'll get a decent return on your investment, though.

I think in 30yrs when I'm old, vision on the decline, and generally in need of assistance, a G17 or G19 (I have no doubt they'll still be produced in 30yrs) with an RMR or the future equivalent will be welcome on my nightstand.

Coming from the Army, I was taught that CLP (Break Free) was the answer to all my AR related needs for cleaning and maintenance. I'm getting interested in grease as I bought a pistol and it was shipped with grease from the original owner, and it seemed so damn smooth. So, my questions are as follows: What do I need to know about using grease compared to using an oil like CLP or RemOil? Don't assume I have a baseline of knowledge, I assure you, on this topic, I don't. What is a good "all-purpose," easy to use grease? I've heard good things about Frog Lube, but I don't want to have to follow a checklist for applying this stuff, just put it where it needs to go, work the action, put the weapons away, and be able to fire them when I want without other prep. Where, and how much, do I lube an AR and a striker fired pistol with the grease that meets the criteria in question #2?

If we were talking about conventional troops, I might agree that the M&P could be a better choice for equipping American troops with American made equipment that meets a technical requirement for the purpose of buying domestic. But were talking about an SOF element here. These guys don't always live on the flowing side of the supply chain for spare parts or replacements, thus having a rugged pistol such as the Glock (which I consider light years more durable than the M&P), along with a chance to appropriate said spare parts via local means can count for a lot.

MrsMonkey and Dolomite'sWeezy: One for the ladies

I knew one who worked the SERE course at Bragg in between assignments at the 101st. She was a helluva NCO, and later Warrant Officer. Plus the parties at her house became folklore within the unit. -
Sure it's not just hair gel residue from SEALs who have carried the G19?
-
It's worth mentioning that there are different ways of open carrying, and it's the ones that make the open carrier look like a pompous asshat crying "look at me, I have a gun which makes me badass" that makes a lot of people get turned off to open carry. There was also the argument about how an open carrier might be the first one shot, which is speculative at best. Either way, I support the right of open carry as long as its just that, carrying openly. Carry your weapon for your own defence if needed, don't turn it into a statement.

More Pics - Very Cool Stamp on Barrel
btq96r replied to Pete123's topic in Curio, Relics and Black Powder
Very cool piece of history then. A rifle made during the a major war effort almost 100 years ago. -
The entire logistics effort is amazing when you look at it, even if it had its issues getting the front line stocked well enough. We bombed the French rail network out of order to prevent the Germans from using it, but that hurt ourselves in the process. Two things that might interest you would be Mulberry Harbor's- a man made workaround to the fact that the allies didn't have a real port to use for a long while since the Germans sabotaged Cherbourg so effectively, and the Red Ball Express- a trucking effort to speed the delivery of supplies to the front lines.

Does David Ortiz against the Yankees in the 2004 ALCS count?

LMAO. Now you know what everybody who covers is trying to imitate. He recorded the orginal version in 1984 and it has never been done better.

Western front was delayed for a while by overall supply issue (as the front grew in size so the efforts slowed for lack of fuel, ammo, food, ect..), the failure of Market Garden, plus the toughness of the fight in the Hürtgen Forest threw off the time tables as well. France having a lack of good roads didn't help things either. The Germans didn't have to deal with that as much in 1940 since they only had the big battles in the northern part of France, and didn't even have to fight in the Southern part. Also, there weren't widespread deployments of 15yr old kids at the front until after the Battle of the Bulge as best I remember, the troops the allies faced in France were toughened veterans of the Eastern Front mixed in with fresh conscripts.

That pistol should be in a museum somewhere. It's the definition of a gun with a story to tell.
