  1. You get six months to claim the prize.  I'd wait at least three months for all the hoopla to die down and go into every room or meeting flanked by my new top notch tax and legal team.  Before that, I'd do everything I could to eliminate my presence anywhere online, though that would only go so far.    The money would have a secure account at a top notch bank waiting for it to go into.  And if I couldn't claim the prize through a trust, I'd be less talkative than Bill Belichick when asked any questions by the media.   I sure as hell wouldn't be on TV announcing myself to the world before I figured out what my plan with it all was.
  2.   I put on new gas rings, it delayed the problem, but it still crept back up.  I'd like to think that if it was the gas block, it would be a consistent problem from the first rounds, not something that happens later in the shooting.
  3. Great actor who could pull off the entire spectrum.  He'll be missed.  Condolences to his family and friends.   So, Bowie, Rickman...who's going to be #3?       He was awesome in that.
  4. So, obviously go see the Louisville Slugger factory.   Horseshoe Casino (Caesars property) is just over the river in Indiana as well if you like casinos.  The area in and around 4th Street Live was packed with restaurants and bars when I visited there.  I'd stay in that area so you can walk around at night, and drive to the NRA Convention.  I found Louisville to be a nice city.  The time of year you're going will be beautiful to walk around downtown day or night too.
  5.   It's a distro list, not a harbinger of the Fourth Reich.
  6. Just this week, I took my "sniper style assault rifle" and my "high capacity magazines" to the range where I shot 80 rounds of ammo that could "pierce armor" which I received via internet ordering direct to my door.   I get it.  The President wishes he could enact all kinds of gun restrictions and would love to prevent everything I mentioned in the part above.  Same for Hillary.  But since they suck at it, we're living in some of the best years ever for gun rights.  Federal law in the modern era has never been better for the pro gun side, and I for one, would like to hear less doom and gloom, and more positives.  President Obama is a political lame duck.  It's time to start treating him like one.   That should have been an eight minute dissertation on how useless the President's actions are, and how gun owners can prepare for future fights like the Senate races that could determine the direction of the Supreme Court for the next 20 years.  They should have shown how gun rights have expanded through state legislatures, and how in less than a generation we've gone from a debate on nothing but gun control, to victories for gun rights.
  7. Shame.  Al Jazeera America was one of the least sensationalist news sources out there.
  8.   Dipsticks on the internet are like weeds in the yard.  You get some respite after pulling them all, but sooner or later new ones come in and you just have to go yank them by the root.
  9.   Yeah, it's kind of a biggie.  And the constant emails are beyond an annoyance.   Still better than Facebook, however.
  10.   St. Jude's is a very worthwhile charity.  I have my Amazon Smile account set up to give them a little something every time I buy an eligible item.   If I won, I'd also set up a non-profit to find good charities.  Let the employees of my organization do the research and find local charities like homeless shelters, food pantries, other good causes, then give them $10-100k donations.  For a small group, an amount like that could be a big boost to their operating funds and make a big difference.  There would be a lot of money to dot the map and see it put to some great uses.
  11.   All that gold and silver will be useless if the banks fail I'd imagine.  Who will recognize it as valid currency?
  12. I'd recommend time travel to prevent your registration, but if the multiverse theory holds true, in some reality you wouldn't leave TGO.  Not sure you're okay with that level of ambiguity.  If you are then you're already good, since you can take solace in the fact that in some realities you didn't register, or in others that TGODavid deleted your account for you.
  13.   There was an exercise that close to Farsi Island?!  I thought that's just where the Iranian navy ended up taking them.  Why not hold the exercises near one of the GCC countries?
  14.   What are we doing using manned boats that small, that close to Iranian waters when we have UAV's that can do the same patrol tasks?
  15. No guarantee that money will be there for the next 30 years if you do annual payments.  I'd take the lump sum and set up a plethora of investment trusts at various low to medium risk levels with at least half the money in 10-20yr US Treasury Bonds.  I'd just use a few of those accounts to write checks to myself from and enjoy life.   First, I'd buy enough land somewhere far enough away from the beaten path to avoid eminent domain for the next 50 years and build a modern day castle that would be off the grid.  But it would be within a hour or two drive to a regional airport, connecting flight to a major airport (Chicago, Boston, New York), so I could travel anywhere I wanted easy enough.
  16. When it comes to threats from passengers, airplane security was taken care of after the cockpit doors were locked from the inside, and they stopped allowing small blades or trade tools.  Everything else, including the TSA has been for show.
  17.   This upper and bolt aren't new.  I've got close to 1,000rds through it I'd imagine.  Next time I take it out, I'll bring some extra mags, a carbine buffer, and even my other BCG just to see.    Annoying.
  18.   Not running it wet, and i staggered the rings when I put them on.  I always thought it never mattered if they lined up or not.   I'm using a 20rd PMAG, and the main issue is the bolt not locking back after the last round.  About twice out of 80 rounds (all towards the end) it didn't load the next round.  But it wasn't near as bad as before the new gas rings.
  19.   I haven't broken it down yet to check.    Like I said, it ran like a champ for the first 50 rounds, then sometime after that, it started having issues, intermittent at first, then towards the end consistently..  I was firing in five round groups.  Loading five, shooting, making adjustments on the scope, lather rinse repeat.
  20. Swapped out the gas rings, and it ran a lot better.  But after about the 50-60th round out of 80 total, it started failing to lock back on the last round again.  I did have the H2 buffer in, and was shooting 55gr ammo, so maybe that's it?  Just can't understand why the problem only came up late in the firing and not from the beginning.
  21.   I don't know if they've gone after anyone...seems more like it would be used as a tack on charge if nothing else.  Their current opinion holds that the brace is legal, and doesn't convert the pistol to a rifle, so long as the pistol isn't fired with the brace against the shoulder.   There was a whole to-do with ATF telling SIG that the brace was okay used in any way since it was never designed to be fired from the shoulder.  SIG even put a copy of that documentation on their website, and a copy in the brace packaging if memory serves.  Then with enough people rocking the boat asking ATF "are you sure?" in combination with the explosion of sales, the not so subtle "f-u's" to the ATF, and probably a loss of revenue with a diminishing of Form 1/Form 4 tax stamps, firing an AR pistol with a SIG brace from the shoulder made it an SBR and the shooter in violation of federal law.   Here's a good background on how ATF reversed itself on the decision.  Political pressure can task lawyers to justify anything. http://www.thetruthaboutguns.com/2014/12/robert-farago/atf-dont-use-sig-brace-as-shoulder-stock-without-nfa-stamp/   But yeah, their word is, shall we say, finicky.  I don't see this trigger being anything close to the SIG brace in terms of market share, but if it gets big enough, I can see them saying it ain't semi-auto.
  22.   Has been for almost a year now. http://gunssavelives.net/gun-industry/breaking-11615-atf-issues-open-letter-declaring-the-shouldering-of-sig-brace-illegal/ https://www.atf.gov/file/11816/download
  23.   Even on a ship?  This guy was the commander of a carrier strike group, so it could have happened on a deployment.   In the Army, when a brigade was out in the field using tactical communications, they controlled their own network.  I'd imagine that a ship has something similar for a setup.
  24.   Once upon a time ATF said the SIG Brace was cool to fire from the shoulder.  Their word is as trustful as a car salesman's to me.
  25.   Putting someones address into a story/post would be bad form.  City and state is normal, but the actual street address would be taking it too far.
