  1. I have what could be called a clue about all that stuff, and I still think capital gains should be taxed as regular income. Certainly capital gains taxes shouldn't be phased out, as that just means revenue will have to go up somewhere else, as we all know the budget numbers aren't taking the hit alone. The only exceptions I'd support are for retirement accounts to be treated special (or left alone altogether if the individual doesn't touch them before retirement age), and an aggregate income amount from wages and returns, being under which, capital gains wouldn't apply. But yeah, tax unearned income just the same as income. I find it memorizing that our society asks for more in taxes from a paycheck that was earned through labor versus a return that the individual simply had to have an account open to get.
  2. Trump was speaking at the leadership forum there today. Probably explains all the security.
  3. I'd be calling them everyday, asking for extension numbers to the next level up. There is no way for you to just return the thing, right?
  4. @TGO David Thanks for putting in a bit of dank.
  5. @Oh Shoot My labs are pretty solid across the board for a fat guy with hypertension and OSA. I get a full panel about once a year (actually had one yesterday with my first VA appointment), so I'm on top of all the warning signs that may come from those. The last thing I want to do is starve myself and have relapses. With school and work being very lax over the summer, and my fall semester being lax as well, I finally have the chance to plan meals better and hit the gym hard, both of which I've been doing pretty well here lately. I just need to keep working on endurance for the cardio and mixing in more core exercises alongside the clanging & banging of the weights (the only stress relief I like better than shooting). Coupled with mixing in better foods I make fresh instead of the ready made stuff, and I think I'll start to see results. I'd rather have it be gradual and sustained than anything drastic to be honest.
  6. I'm weaning myself off of carbs, cold turkey ain't gonna work for a guy raised on pasta and bread. I haven't had pizza in a while, and am only eating bread when it's with a sandwich, not as a table filler before a meal comes out or anything of the sort. Also cutting the portions of chips at Mexican restaurants, and side items with carbs like potatoes and rice. My biggest problem is being hungry since the carbs filled me up well enough.
  7. I've been told I need to dial back the carbs in a big way myself. Would that it was that simple.
  8. Awesome, thanks. Was just able to set mine.
  9. @TGO David How did you upload that picture of the rounds onto your profile? It's the one that shows up at the top of your profile, or when I hover over your avatar?
  10. Then it's the same one I have (P3AT). I'm sure your with me at wondering just how the hell he squeezed the trigger that isn't exactly light and smooth. And yeah...inside the sock is about as dumb a place to carry as can be. I have a tiny Fobus holster for mine that takes up about the space of two leathermans on a belt when carried OWB. So, there are holsters for this gun if someone knows how to use Google. A woman has a gunshot wound for the rest of their life because this guy doesn't have the common sense evolution gave a turnip. I'll say he doesn't need to be carrying a gun anymore, he's forfeited that right with his stupidity.
  11. https://www.washingtonpost.com/local/public-safety/us-judge-strikes-down-dc-concealed-carry-gun-law-as-likely-unconstitutional/2016/05/17/d36d35dc-1c49-11e6-8c7b-6931e66333e7_story.html It'll be appealed, but it's another gun rights case where Heller is being felt. Between this and finding the NSA metadata collection unconstitutional, Judge Leon is all right in my book.
  12. Owning a .380 Kel-Tec myself (not sure if it's the same model, but could be), I'm flabbergasted that he was able to pull the trigger while re-adjusting it. I hope they throw every law in the book at this guy. Stupid should have consequences

  14. I was just about to post the snoops link, but that's apparently frowned upon. *Cough @Ugly Cough*
  15. FWIW, I just messed around with various zoom levels. Hitting Ctrl and - one time makes it a lot better to me. Guess I can shut up about it all now.
  16. Hmmm....maybe it's my eyes playing tricks. Just seems like the new version is "different."
  17. Clearly designed with the goal of slowing as much as can be done, or creating a checklist that would almost ensure that any gun shop could be busted if the state wants. Keeping up with those admin requirements would be a full time job, and need someone very attentive to detail. The whole 500' zone around any school, preschool or daycare isn't as bad as they make it out to be. If it was, there would be no strip clubs inside Chicago. The way for those in IL to fight this is to show how much sales tax revenue would be lost, and demand offsetting measures elsewhere in the budget. Sort of how like how a "fiscal note" can kill gun legislation in Tennessee, just in reverse. The 8+ firearms making someone a dealer, is specifically within a calendar year, so it's not as egregious as it seems. I'm sure this is meant to target the "private collectors" who are of course making a living off their collection. I didn't see the "social justice" part the article talks about, but I did admittedly skim it very fast.
  18. I think there is just more white space all around, as the new look feels looser. The area of a post seems to have increased, and it seems to me that the wood background is taking up less space than the prior version, unless you have your browser taking up the whole window. That's all speculative...I tried to find a screen shot from the old version in the support forum, but had no luck.
  19. Notifications through the browser is a feature I'm coming to enjoy.
  20. How much profit are you looking to turn? I found a site that can do polo shirts using Under Armour brand for about $40 a pop if we order more than 12. Add, say, $10 for the site, and it comes out to ~$50 after shipping to the members. While it would be a bit pricey, I've had UA polo shirts that have lasted long enough to make it well worth the money. I think the TGO logo would look slick on them.
  21. @Wingshooter Got the alert for it. Returning the favor so you can see how it works.
  22. Just type @ and then start typing the name. A drop down box should appear if you're spelling it right. Do me a favor, and try it with @btq96r so I can see if it gives me an alert.
  23. I think the mobile version isn't necessary better than the prior one. Maybe it's just my phone, but it I'm not seeing the obvious improvement most of you are. To me, the upgrade is a wash in this area. Tapatalk would be nice, but if we don't get it back, I think we'll be okay. TGODavid has probably had his fill with it, as it's a pain in the ass from his side of the admin panel. Though, I will admit to some dismay at not being able to continue my running gag on OhShoot for that time he tried to chide us into turning off our Tapatalk signatures...but it'll just make me find a new way to mess with him.
  24. @Omega Yoda is one of the few things that you could replace the Little Bird with and have it still be as cool.
  25. I had a chance to hold an AR pistol with a Sig Brace, and another with a Shockwave at a pawn shop once...the Shockwave felt and looked better by a mile. If I ever build a shorty AR pistol that's what I'm putting on it.
