@Omega Yoda is one of the few things that you could replace the Little Bird with and have it still be as cool.

I had a chance to hold an AR pistol with a Sig Brace, and another with a Shockwave at a pawn shop once...the Shockwave felt and looked better by a mile. If I ever build a shorty AR pistol that's what I'm putting on it.

Switched to Linux...looking good on that OS as well.

Not a huge deal, but the automatic placing of a space after a paragraph is annoying. Kind of how MS Word started doing it when they rolled out Office2010.

I love the internet.

Not too bad on my laptop, but the mobile skin is dragging. I'll let you know if it doesn't speed up once the updates are all done. It's a lot brighter than I expected. Gonna take a bit of time for my eyes to adjust.

I wonder if he cleared this with GunBroker first. Maybe he was in violation of their terms of service?

US appeals court hears Maryland gun control case
btq96r replied to The Legion's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
Very important. I was harping on this one a few months back when it was just a panel ruling, but the effect of Heller and McDonald in the opinion was pretty awesome. Hopefully the full circuit has a similar view and applies strict scrutiny as we evidenced in this legal poetry. http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Published/141945.P.pdf -
Wouldn't put it past Zimmerman to drive up bids from a 2nd account.

Don't think you have to buy new or anything. Maybe you can find a better price on a used one. Some of the older ones that aren't rated for travel with cargo can still work just fine for your needs as a storage unit. Also, DWARREN123 is spot on. The lock is the most vulnerable point.

I know it's a pipe dream, but with an obvious manufacturer fault coming up so close to when you took possession of it, I'd say having your first months payment covered would be fair. After all, you're going to be paying for that vehicle when it's been in the shop through the negligence of those who made it and sold it to you.

Local Police/ATF Agreement to Enforce Gun Control
btq96r replied to JohnC's topic in 2A Legislation and Politics
The .gov teat is pretty hard to resist when it's spouting so much milk for the taking. Couple that with how hard it is to get revenues increased at the local level, it's easy to see how this kind of system comes to pass for cash strapped departments. The line between a local PD becoming an extension of the federal government is thinner than people think. -
Gauging Interest - TGO Logo Stainless Steel Tumbler
btq96r replied to TGO David's topic in General Chat
Looks great. I wasn't sold in concept, but the pictures changed my mind. I'll take one when they are ready for sale. -
The 10mm will be more fun for the range, but the M&P is more practical for anything you might actually need a gun for, especially for that price. Enough ammo to keep a few extra mags loaded, and it could be a good travel gun, or backup. If nothing else, in a worst case scenario, I'd imagine .40S&W ammo being more plentiful than 10mm (not factoring reloading), but someone can tell me if I'm wrong.

Trump Releases His Plan for 2nd Amendment… Leaves Millions Furious
btq96r replied to Ron_TN's topic in General Chat
That's an understatement...here's a sample from the past 48 hours: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/05/05/trump-signals-willingness-to-raise-us-minimum-wage.html http://www.wsj.com/articles/donald-trump-wont-self-fund-general-election-campaign-1462399502 ...Someone who would reasonably be considered a Democratic supporter will running his campaign finances: http://www.zerohedge.com/news/2016-05-05/trump-picks-former-goldman-partner-and-soros-employee-finance-chairman Trump with a Soros linked money manager... :biglol:  :bowrofl: He's still got a long way to go to catch up to #WhichHillary, but he's well on his way. -
41P Update - November 2015
btq96r replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I'd buy the can, not build one from parts. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk, because I felt that Oh Shoot wanted to know that particular bit of information. -
41P Update - November 2015
btq96r replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
I wish I could drop a form for a .300BLK can, but the money for a can is just an ill timed luxury at the moment. Bad timing for it all, I suppose. Oh well, I still have my SBR, so I'm not totally out of the NFA loop. -
41P Update - November 2015
btq96r replied to midtennchip's topic in National Firearms Act (NFA) Regulated
Bumping this up since we're <60 days from the action date. Do anyone have any new info, or is it still get to "pending" by July 1st, or be stuck under the new rules? -
Word.

Would that this upgrade came with a free eBook of Who Moved My Cheese. Some folks are going to need it I'd imagine. ;)

If you're willing to go from 1-6x down to 1-4x, you'll be able to expand the search to a lot more options. I've read some good things about this model for a budget friendly scope: http://swfa.com/SWFA-SS-1-4x24-Tactical-30mm-Riflescope-P78365.aspx If you're set on 1-6x, then I'd chose the Vortex over the PA model.

I open carry from time to time, mostly at night or when I'm wearing a shirt that isn't big enough to conceal well. My #1 rule of open carry is to position the gun no further back than the 3 o'clock, (or 9 o'clock if I'm wearing it crossdraw). If it was open carry, that's a pretty dumb place to have it. And even concealed (such as it might have been), it's pretty dumb too. Just sticking out of the back pocket, it's pretty damn easy to yank, as apparently this guy didn't even put 2+2 together right away. ***This thread should probably be moved to a more appropriate forum where some of our resident trainers tend to lurk and can chime in***

Combat is pretty hectic. Unless you have a well drilled team/squad/platoon, it's going to be a jumble, and I doubt they have any kind of in depth training regimen as they need people to fight right away. If you think the ISIS fighters in that video were bad, you should see the Iraqi Army. They were hapless without us to help them, which is why ISIS took as much territory as they have. The only fighting force in that conflict I'd call competent is the Peshmerga.

That's my plan if I ever get into .300BLK.
