Not really...China wants to have North Korea in a certain place depending on what we'll do. They love how much NK makes us dedicate time, troops, resources, and money to a very small area/threat that can't engage them elsewhere in the region, and has been keeping them afloat at minimal cost to them for maximum drain on us. China may want NK to have a credible nuclear threat, or they may finally exert needed pressure to keep them close to where they're at now (armed, but not very capable), I'm not entirely sure. One thing I am fairly sure of is they don't want NK crossing the line that forces our hand, and brings a war to their backyard. That's bad for business as they continue to grow their economy, and bad for their long term plan to watch us spend ourselves into irrelevance.

Some bounty from the Cyber Monday deals...got the trigger on sale, and used the difference between what it normally goes for, and the discount price to get the mags and cover shipping. Already put the SD-E in, and am looking quite forward to taking it to the range.

I have a hard time thinking North Korea is refining a military nuclear program just so they can launch at the US mainland someday. I have an easy time thinking North Korea is refining a military nuclear program so that all future dealings with them are conducted in some semi-balance of M.A.D. in mind. The calculus of how we deal with countries changes big time when they have a credible nuclear threat. North Korea views their nuclear program is insurance, and what we hear come out of the official state news has to be looked at as for domestic consumption before looking at it as their policy. If North Korea shoots first, of course we need to come down with the appropriate hammer right away. I'm not sure if a preemptive strike, or striking once they have verified capability is the right answer. We could truthfully live with North Korea having the technology to attack us with nukes...but whether or not we want to is a helluva question. To date, we've not acted against any hostile country when they reached that level. North Korea, and Iran seem to be different. Again, still not sure for my money. I also wonder if it's truly our prerogative to essentially condemn a staggering amount of innocent people in South Korea to death as they would be caught in any crossfire we start. You deserve more than one thumbs up for that, but alas, I can only give one.

Glad you had it in your heart to take in a new dog. Looking forward to seeing man and dog become best friends. Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk. OhShoot very much likes to know when we're using Tapatalk.

Another vote for the VP9 from me. I've just never been able to love the Glocks or M&P line as much as I do the VP9. I've also never been a fan of compacts, but I know that's just a personal quirk. I carry my VP9 and it's no big deal to me since I'm a bigger guy.

The gun market is going through a two pronged revolution... The minor part is the dip in sales with President Trump in power. That can end in as soon as three years, and will ebb and flow with power changes in Washington. Companies need to be ready to ride those out and think about investing the dividends from the good years to carry them through the bad. The major part that is here to stay is how consumers are getting pickier, and companies are having to rely on more than the multiple generations of brand name loyalty. Remington is finding themselves chasing the market (the RP9 makes that clear). Instead of leading where they have the expertise to redefine the industry standard, bolt action rifles and shotguns. I want Remington to survive and thrive in their third century, but they need to want to earn it.

Finally pulled the trigger (pun intended) on a Geissele SD-E. Primary Arms had it for $175, so I re-invested the savings, and added 3x 30rd PMags, and 2x 20rd PMags on top of it. Came out to a few bucks less than the normal price of $240 for the SD-E.

I'd recommend going slow during the first outing with the SD-3G until you get used to just how different it is. Once you become familiar with it you can let things rip and wonder how you burned through all that ammo so fast. [emoji3] Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk. Watched the Titans game today, wasn't bad. Have the Cowboys/Falcons game on as I knock out some work (with a TGO break), and plan on being glued to watch the Patriots game tonight.

Maybe I'm missing something, but aside from IWI wanting in on the striker-fired polymer market, this gun is quite unremarkable. I doubt it's as rugged as a Glock, or has as butter a trigger as an H&K, or the wallet friendly cost from CZ.

That was my first thought when I heard about this on the radio.

Saw this as well yesterday. A great read showing how this issue is playing behind the scenes with neither side having a consolidated position yet. This line in particular caught my attention; "one major sponsor had threatened to pull out if the NFL were to issue a mandate to stand." Shows the NFL is on a tightrope here and kind of stuck in a damned if they do, damned if they don't situation. It's also nice to see Jerry "I'm the ranking owner here" Jones get knocked down a bit. I can imagine more than a few of the other 31 owners are getting tired of him hijacking the league agenda at his leisure.

Always tip my barber. I've been lucky with the ones I've had over the years, especially when I was living in Murfreesboro (Woodsviking Barbershop). A lot of barbers are independent contractors renting their chair at the shop or in a small group partnership where every dollar counts. It's a profession that I want to stay around as long as I'm around, so I feel it's my part of keeping them in business. I'm tipping for the full experience (the shop, the chair, a guy to shoot the breeze with while getting my hair cut, ect), so I don't object to the cost of the service plus tip at all.

I spent a all of 2015 and 2016 working directly with college football players (freshman to be exact) on academics while I was in college, and I understand what you mean by the entitlement attitude. In a lot of ways, it was like having Privates fresh out of basic training, and I looked at any I viewed accordingly needing simple but fast corrective action. Whenever we had a problem with players in class or study hall where our getting on them didn't work, we let their coaches know, and they took care of it for us. We moved on, and my players knew I wasn't holding grudges or punishing them for last weeks dumbass attack. On a practical level, tossing a player for what are really minor disciplinary events will make recruiting a problem as that kind of word gets around and will be used as a point against a school. We had players that were kicked off the team, but for deep behavioral issues that were beyond correction or situations that involved criminal charges.

I don't need to have cash on me, but it's a habit. Usually I'll have somewhere near $20-25 in a mix of bills in the money clip on my wallet, though that amount dwindles as I use it for things. Same here. It's not perfect (see below), but it's pretty good for the times. I also make sure the debit card tied to my checking account is only used for cash withdrawals. Any online payments are made via the credit card, or bank account (as Nashville Electric requires to my annoyance). Yeah, those things are getting bad. They're showing up on ATMs as well, which can ruin someone bad. I still use my credit card at the pump, but I do a quick look/feel around the slot for a skimmer, and the same at the ATM. Using situational awareness and avoiding ATMs in seedy places helps a bunch. Everytime I see one on the news, I feel safe that I've never been in the area.

The boosters are the ones who will pay for Butch's early exit, or suffer him for another year. Think of them as the Board of Directors, and the Athletic Director as a CEO with each spots head coaches as other C-Suite officers for how the power structure works. Once in a while you get a transcendent coach who can have the same power as the AD and have the boosters give them the benefit of several doubts (think Saban at Alabama), but it takes wins aplenty for that kind of wasta to develop. That's pretty extreme punishment given the crime. Remember, these are still 18-23yr old young men, and 18-23yr old young men make all kinds of boneheaded mistakes. Have him spend some more time running laps or some measure of chores in the locker room after practice, sure. But don't upend someone from what is usually the best chance to get ahead in life for a mistake they can learn from.

I'm afraid that will happen to me. I'm quite happy with my Vortex, especially the cost/quality ratio...but I know the NightForce scopes are top of the line.

Alabama opened as 34 point favorites next week at sports books. I can only see that line going up a bit before kickoff. Zero respect for UT right now as the line wouldn't be that high if they could put a decent team on the field.

I think that is mostly due with your not having much experience with it. The flash drive is handy, but it can get lost, broken, anything else something that small is susceptible to. With an online storage drive, you really nix all the "what if" possibilities.

I have to think just dragging and dropping the Kasey Pics folder onto Google Drive or something else similar is the simplest solution.
