Federal agencies are somewhat dependent on contractors for work like that. Has the benefits of being cheaper than a federal employee, and keeping the numbers of federal employees artificially low since numbers of contract employees aren't really tracked. The downside is you're getting what you pay for with the cheap accountability circumventing method.

I'm sure there are a few of them that are actually loathe to go to another steakhouse on a weeknight, but feel a sense of responsibility. Woe are they, I suppose. Whateves, they aren't doing it with my dime.

Laws are for serfs, you know that.

I just assumed this was already a law for a while now.

This was the one and only time I've ever believed anything Alex Jones ever said.

Depending on how your home is wired for cable, it might not be that much of an effort. Look into where the cable jacks are currently running from the box outside. This is what I did... In my old place, there were four drops for the townhouse I was renting...one for each bedroom, one for the living room, and one inexplicably for the upstairs hallway. So I set up the outdoor antenna in my back porch area, then ran a heavy coax cable (about $15 bucks for a 50' good outdoor one) from the antenna to the drop for the living room. I moved my cable modem to the upstairs hallway, resulting in free over the air TV in my living room by using the cable wiring in the house, and Wifi broadcasting from upstairs to use Netflix, Hulu, HBOGo, and all the rest on Roku on the TV as well, taking advantage of the work that was already put into the house to rig it for cable in each room.

Maybe try an outdoor one and run it through the existing cable jacks to your main TV? The indoor models are not as good as advertised.

Suppressors may be next on Trump’s list

They won't change the minds of Democrats in Congress, but I have a feeling they'd change the Republicans back into rabid 2A supporters again. Seems we only have a defense of gun rights when the "other side" is leading the charge against. -
This. I used Testor's for my SBR lower to have the cool bullet symbols for safe and fire filled in, and it's good to go.

While I love my 20-round mags and always pick up at least one when I buy some 30-round ones on sale, the 30-round magazines make a great point of contact for prone shooting...at least to my height. Not sure if it's a physical thing on your end.

Weird and a bit sad. That range is a great resource for shooters of all skill levels, and very reasonable cost. I don't want it to go away or be reduced in availability because of under utilization. Hoping it was just a blip because people were afraid of getting wet. Bring an umbrella or a rain coat, and wrap your targets in some clear film if needs be.

Folks, I spent a few hours yesterday morning out at Stone River Range, and it was shamefully bereft of shooters for a Saturday morning. Yes, it's a busy weekend in the area, yes it was going to rain later in the day...but still, there were never more than six shooters at the rifle range for the entire time I was out there. That's probably a dozen open lanes sitting barren on what should be a busy shooting time of the weekend. I admit that recently, I've been slacking in my own range time as work and life get in the way of things, but I think we owe it to ourselves, and the resources we hope to have around to utilize them as comfortably as we can financially.

I learned how pretty much all the finer points I know about how to cook through YouTube videos. Amazing resource.

Not sure what Tucker means by "now". I'm scratching my head to think of a time that corporations haven't been in charge since the industrial revolution begat mega companies and turned their CEOs into an oligarchy sometime around the early 1900s. We like to galvanize ourselves as 2A community to have our wallets speak in part for us, and this is just an extension of that with corporations exercising discretion on where their money is expended. They have that prerogative if the governance structure enables it. I may not like it, and in some cases, I may question it from a business perspective as much as a personal one, but unless the 2A gets some measure of protected class bestowed upon it (bad idea all around, IMO), we have nothing aside from purchasing power that would need to be collectively applied as leverage. In the case that some companies represent, gun owners as a demographic aren't enough...and we're not exactly the best at bringing allies to the cause to boost those numbers.

https://www.cnbc.com/2019/05/30/salesforce-bans-some-gun-sellers-from-using-its-software.html I'm sure we have a few members who know how wide a reach Salesforce has across multiple businesses, and how it's a growth company with a very high ceiling. Hopefully it won't have too much effect, but I could see any large reach seller (ie: Primary Arms) being in a pinch having to replace their CRM platform like this. I also hope it's not the start of integrated businesses jumping into the fray against the 2A.

I hope we continue to be worthy of the sacrifice so many have given with their lives. Take a moment and have a thought for then today.

My condolences to you and your family. Hoping the day where her memory is a smile and not a tear comes sooner rather than later.

Not against 2-stage, just think they have a proper place. I use a 2-stage SD-E in my scoped 16" AR, and a single-stage SD-3G in my 10.5" SBR with an EoTech. Different systems for different roles; barrel, optic, trigger all tailored to use. How's the reset on the LaRue? I'm thinking of swapping the SD-3G because of the super short reset (it's a bit too short as I spent time with it), and this looks like it might be a single stage winner.

Every Democrat is throwing anything out there to see what sticks...so a big yawn from me. They each need to 1) qualify for the debates, and 2) keep their name in the news to attract fundraising. We're going to see a real race to stupid (more so than already) as they fight for debate time and money. Not until after probably South Carolina will whoever is left try to ease off some and re-tack center left to prep for the general.

This is why large organizations get a C-Suite and a Board of Directors. A good board will keep the executive team in check, or reign them in as needed. Sometimes both elements go off the rails, but WLP could and should have been reigned in by effective oversight well before it got to this. I'm just not clear if they were unwilling or unable to do so since I admittedly don't know how much the NRA board gets into things.

Using a "money is like drugs in various forms" analogy, some senior members of the NRA are at full junkie status. Making a lot in salary is like weed...feels good, tends to become a lifestyle enhancer, an individual may or may not be sated based on their personality. Making a lot of salary, and being able to decrease your taxable income by running expenses that brush legitimacy through a corporation is like cocaine...much more of a rush than weed, but leaves you wanting more. Making a lot of salary, and having personal expenses taken care of (or at the least a lifestyle funded) in a way that never even hits your income before expense reduction or equalization...that's the heroin right there, and you're always after the perpetual high. Going back to a mundane life of the first two options, no matter how much better you have it than the small-folk, is to be avoided like the plague. No surprise to me that WLP is ready to go to the mattresses to keep his status and what it enables. Wouldn't bat an eye if call girls are brought up before it's all said and done...certainly it's about the only routine thing left in a situation like this. I will concede that the NRA needs to pay some folks a high salary. For those living in the DC Metro area alone, you need to pay commensurate to the market. For top level people, you need to pay them in the ballpark for their sector of work, though working for a cause like the NRA should count for something (you would think). But that only enables the weed stage as described above...the NRA has ventured far into cocaine and heroin, and that's going to take a lot of institutional willpower if they want to take the road to recovery. NY State may throw them in a metaphorical detox before they get to that point, however. Having bashed the NRA for their behavior, I'm not really shocked at this because it was always about the money to me. But just how fast and loose they are playing things is a bit surprising. I expected the usual stuff like using an expense policy to fund vacations, generous vehicle mileage, or even organization vehicles assigned, things that you are far more likely to sign off on when it's not your money at stake. Seems there isn't even a modicum of adherence to some guiding rules for their own protection. I mean, seriously...paying the President of the organization through the PR firm is flabbergasting. Non-profits are always going to be under a microscope with financial accounting, and that's a good thing. If they didn't see this day coming, they were idiots. This isn't a private partnership taking expenses at the depletion of their own payouts, it's a non-profit using money raised from the public because [INSERT BOOGEYMAN HERE] is coming for your guns.

I'm a convert on the flat bow triggers from Geissele, but I may have to pick up one of the new flat triggers from Larue on general purpose. I wish they made it in single stage...but that's just me being picky. https://www.larue.com/products/larue-tactical-mbt-2s-straight-bow-trigger/

Now that they "did something" I expect they'll be resting on their laurels with regards to gun rights for a bit.

I'm with you. I've never gotten the love for the stainless steel on an AR. I know it's purely an aesthetic thing, but they're not for me.
