Part of me thinks there are insurance and liability costs factoring into this decision.       You can set it as a condition of the contract, and you better believe Uber is giving these drivers a "sign it or don't take the work" type of deal.  Unless OSHA safety concerns are involved, whoever has leverage on the contract is going to get what they want.

Looking for the program of instruction from state guidelines on what has to be taught in the HCP class for a class project.  I know that each instructor has a book with this, but I'm looking for it in a .pdf or .HTML source.   Thanks.

Finally had the chance to watch it...meh.  I didn't feel it was a waste of time, but I thought it was only an okay as a movie.   The performances from Bradley Cooper and Sienna Miller (a very underrated actress) were top notch.  The strain on their relationship caused by deployments and not enough time between them was well acted, though I think could have been given more time as it is a big theme as you read the book, especially the parts by Taya written from her view.   The action scenes were about what I expected, complete with the Hollywood embellishments: the huge flame with each shot from a suppressed M4, creating Mustafa as his nemesis through out the movie, the final battle in Sadr City ending in a sandstorm haze...all made the movie a letdown after reading the book.

  It'll be interesting to see if Brady Campaign sticks behind the people they propped up and continue to give them money to cover this, or silk away and leave the plaintiffs they used to get standing enough to bring a case on the hook for the money.

When you're sitting on the can, your underwear and or pants form a perfect cradle to secure your gun.  Just take your gun out of the holster, rest it in there.  No way you leave it in the bathroom.  You'll either remember to re-holster it, have it pressed against your gooch in an uncomfortable way.

Fixed blade knives have fallen way down in favor overseas from what I saw.  My last trip over was as a contractor to eastern Afghan from Nov 2012- Nov 2013, and I can't remember more than a few.  Just not as much use for for a large fixed blade over there as there is in a woodland environment.  Even when I was a Soldier, all I ever needed in Iraq or Afghan was a pocket knife.  Having a large knife would have just been more space taken up on my kit. 

  Sure, but to say that churches in South Carolina are gun free zones is misleading.  The church has the ability to allow carry, so the decision to allow or not is on them, not the state.    Hypothetical: if the law was the same here in Tennessee, how many of you would actively seek out a church where the Pastor/Reverend/Rabbi/Priest allows carry?  How many of you would avoid a church that doesn't allow it?

Seems good for walking around, camping, and other stuff if the technology works as advertised.  For a weapon light, I want to see what it does to a person on the other end of the light.  My personal battle drills emphasize light discipline, and having the ability to shine an approximate assload of lumen's in a split second to disorientate my target is something I want to keep for home defense.

  Sensitivity and politics...that's a good one.    Trying to take advantage of emotional highs and lows is how you get laws passed in short order.  How long is a respectful period to give before talking about it?  For those of us that don't want the question to come ever, that's a loaded question.       He could have just be a bad shot, or even putting multiple rounds in each victim.  Easy enough to see someone filled with such hatred doing either, or both, so each victim should account for more than one round.  If it was a .45 handgun, that would limit magazine capacity, so missed shots would necessitate a reload.

Another site I'm a member of has a sub-forum titled "How Not To Post."  As you can guess, they Admin's/Moderator's take the true gems that come across from time to time and after closing them for overall stupidity move them there for posterity.    This thread would be a great way to start one here on TGO.  :P

You absolutely must try to handle disagreements, criticisms or opposing viewpoints with tact and maturity.       David let the Jade Helm thread go on a lot longer than I would have in his shoes.  I'm ex-military and I wasn't offended, just flabbergasted that the whole thing has taken root.    I get that there is health in debate on things, but you weren't debating.  As I saw it you were just tossing out random links with no independent research or additional commentary provided.  Not to mention the day that thread became a bunch of random music via YouTube videos I would have closed it down for irrelevancy.

Some more back-in-the-good-ole-days'itis.  I've had good doctors, and some not so good ones.  Just like any service provided, conduct due diligence and be ready to move on if you aren't getting what you need.

If the Beretta had too long of a trigger pull in DA for them, they should have been hitting the squeeze ball to make the pimp hand strong.  There is no excuse whatsoever for an ND from someone who handles firearms for a living, and any instance should be dealt with severely.  In the Army, loosing rank, pay and pulling extra duty was pretty common...for enlisted, officers usually skated, but that didn't make it right.  Bad safety habits need consequences to produce a corrective atmosphere.

No sympathy whatsoever for a company that can't exist without a firm bite on the .gov teet.
