  1. The weather forecast is looking good!
  2. Just got a FN SLP Mark I from CDNN no shipping charge
  3. Welcome Bob
  4. Sorry if the wording is a little odd on the website, but really what do you expect from some guy who calls himself Hognut. It will be $20 for non-members of MCTS, if someone was going to shoot a 2nd gun it would be $25 total, $20 for the 1st entry and $5 for the 2nd entry. Hope that clears it up.
  5. If you are a competitive shooter and don't want to spend all your spare time reloading, get a auto-index progressive press. Cry once, get the Dillon 650 with case feeder. If you have any mechanical aptitude whatsoever you can jump right into a progressive press.
  6. I just might have achieved the coveted Damn Yankee status by now. It's been three years and I'm still here.
  7. I've had some questions by PM and I'm sure some others might have these questions as well. Can I use a .22 for this event? Yes .22 rimfire pistols are fine for this intro match. Can I use a 6" revolver? Yes for this event no restrictions on barrel length. An 8" .500 S&W might be a bit much for this event, I'm just sayin

  11. Welcome! As bigwakes indicated we have an IDPA match this saturday @ Music City Tactical Shooters If the idea of a full blown match is too much or you are already busy this weekend we are having a TGO / IDPA Intro match on Feb 5th, see this thread: http://www.tngunowners.com/forums/events-gatherings/51403-mcts-idpa-tennessee-gun-owners-event-02-05-11-a.html
  12. Glenn I'm thinking young guys like yourself would be the ones doing all the heavy setup work, let us "old" guys take a break.
  13. Music City Tactical Shooters IDPA Intro Match Feb 5, 2011 The purpose of this match is to create an environment friendly to shooters who have not yet participated in any type of practical pistol competition. This match contains elements that would be found in a regular match. You will be able to participate in this match with a minimum amount of equipment. Experienced competitors are encouraged to come participate in this match and help introduce the sport to interested shooters. Gear Requirements: • Eye and Ear protection • Handgun – Semi Auto or Revolver – Any caliber • 2 Magazines or Speed Loaders • If not using a strong side holster, a case or pistol rug is required • 100 rounds ammunition minimum, bring more for the side match
  14. I've put together a nice mix of basic drills and simple scenario stages that will be a great introduction to IDPA, for those that have never done this kind of thing before. This will be a nice relaxed, have fun type of event. The only thing we will take serious at this event is safety. We hope to see all of you there!
  15. +1 to that Dan! USPSA & IDPA are just games, I shoot them both within their rules and enjoy it.
  16. beat me to it CK1
  17. In IDPA No. 1 is a Tactical Reload and No. 2 is a Reload w/ Retention Years back it was taught and considered to be tacti-cool to do No. 1, I don't think it is being taught much anymore. The idea was that you minimized the time that the gun was actually without a magazine seated. Unless you practice it A LOT the tac-load is a fumble fest especially with double stack mags.
  18. Welcome
  19. Ready Tactical gear available from CPWSA is great revolver gear to go with your Comp 3 speedloaders Ready Tactical
  20. Run n' Gun = Lots of targets, freestyle, no concealment
  21. CED 7000 or the Competition Electronics Pocket Pro II are the only two real choices. I own and love the Pocket Pro II for match use, the CED 7000 has a good following as well.
  22. Him practically standing on his head made me laugh. Although my performance in that port had me cussing not laughing.
