I didn't realize Gun Scrubber was abrasive. I bought it for one cleaning application that was a mess a while back. I will use the Break Free. Thanks, guys.

Here at the house I have a can of Birchwood Casey Gun Scrubber, and a can of Break Free. Which of those would be best to spray in the barrel and clean it with? Or neither one?

It's a nice, albeit pointless, gesture. It exempts felons (the norm), the mentally ill (the norm), and those that don't WANT to own a firearm (the norm). Disagree we shall. It does NOTHING.

Seen any 1911's with the hammer down on a loaded chamber? And, perhaps I wasn't clear; I didn't mean the press check was nonsense. I was referring to the serrations being nonsense. Sorry if that was a point of confusion.

The "practical" (which I personally don't see; I think it's nonsense) is the aforementioned press check. Personally, I've never seen a more effective "loaded chamber indicator" on a 1911 than the hammer being back. What more do you need?

That's one thing about the PPQ, and why I really would like to find a kydex paddle for it; Comp-Tac doesn't make one. The front serrations on it are really pronounced, and it's tearing the crap out of my leather holster.
