Most I've seen recommend certain speed limitations for the first 1K miles to allow the engine/drivetrain parts to settle in and work together properly.

Ok, so... got the new 18 lb. hammer spring in the mail Monday. Watched a YouTube video on how to change it; looked simple enough. BUT, this has the heel release, so it was different. Yesterday on the way to work, I stopped at Sam's shop to see if he could put it in real quick. Sam wasn't there, but Chad was. Chad put it in... and it was terrible. Gritty, stiffer... miserable. I thought I really screwed up. Chad said to leave it with him, and he'd bring it by the shop in a bit. So, I'm at work, and in about an hour, here he comes with it. Hands it to me... and omg, let me tell you, it's incredible. WhatEVER he did was magic. Definitely a keeper.
