  1. The last RK show in Hendersonville (and it was the LAST, from what I understand) was just too expensive. Slots for 800 tables at $60 rent each, I heard. It wasn't full, either of vendors OR customers. Goodman's show should be completely shot now that no private sales are allowed; you have to have a table and an FFL.   I think the "good ol' days" are long gone in that arena.
  2. No, it just hadn't broke yet! lol
  3. No, the trigger was just way too heavy to allow for much accuracy with the first shot. Don't really like the idea of a "throw-away" first round. IF the 18lb one IS too light, I'm sure there's some happy medium.
  4. Guess I'll know eventually.
  5. They brought a 5.56 prototype by the shop... when I wasn't working, dangit... and everybody that WAS there said it's the most awesome rifle ever...
  6. I had ordered an 18 lb. At first, it felt heavier than what was in it. I left it there, and when it was brought back to me, it was incredibly smooth and awesome. Now, I'm here. So....
  7. Well, the gun is 30 years old. It has the heel mag release. I had the hammer spring replaced with a Wolff a month ago. The hammer spring also holds the mag release. When it started acting oddly, it was also extremely difficult to activate the mag release. I'm betting the new hammer spring is the problem. But again, with Sam out of town for two weeks... it's just gonna have to sit here broken. Yes, every primer had a dent in it. When I reloaded those rounds, and pulled the hammer back manually, they all went off. They would NOT go off from decock, nor would the NEXT round fire after it had fired and was in single action from the slide.   I know... weird.
  8. Get this instead; uses Glock mags, and considerably less expensive. http://tnwfirearms.com/
  9. Thanks, wilee! I dropped by Sam's, and he's gone for two weeks. So, guess it's gonna be a while before it gets looked at; unless we get together...   And yeah, Erik... I'm de-Glocked; that's why I said I USED to, lol. The PPQ is my FAVE... but my Ruger SR9 is on my hip most of the time.
  10. Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing major. At the wrong time, it would have been! Clean 'em? What? I used to run Glocks. What's cleaning? ;)
  11. Ok, so the legendary SIG "to hell and back" reliability just went to hell and DIDN'T come back last night. I was shooting my Swiss P225 at the shop, and it just quit. Primer hits, no bang. Only when I pulled the hammer back with my thumb would it go off. Not DA, not SA from the slide blowback. Only from a thumb cock. Off to the village 'smithy it goes... any ideas?
  12. Spending almost $1k on the lone wolf 9mm ar that takes glock mags is a stupid idea.   There.
  13. Cheerleaders are the Tight'uns. ;)
  14. When they were first instituted, they were referred to as the...   Tennessee Intelligent Transportation System   That name didn't last long.
  15. Agreed. However, David has been very busy with new baby, house, etc. I have had NO success in getting any information about becoming a vendor from ANYONE here. Hopefully, he will be somewhat lenient, once he finds time to come back to us.
  16. Anxious to hear.
  17. Well... I'm even MORE glad I went with the SR9c. :(

Ok, THAT sent me digging. First, there is no Walther PPS in that caliber. You're talking about the PP Super, a completely different gun.   http://www.gunauction.com/search/displayitem.cfm?itemnum=7068789   I have no experience with a PP Super. Sounds like you're going to be doing reloading if you want ammo. (After you find brass.) Personally, I wouldn't go for it. I've owned a few of the modern PPS pistols, and they are great guns in available calibers. Might want to look at those.

  21. Lol... finally learned the error of my ways...
  22. Everyone needs a .45.   Everyone doesn't need a 30, though. Whatever works for you...
