  1. Here's weirdness. If I am NOT logged in, it shows the new .us banner, and all posts are visible (no FS forums, though). When I DO log in, it changes to the old .org banner, and all posts become invisible. The FS forums appear, but no posts in any threads, anywhere. Wassup wid dat? EDIT: Both sites show different topics.
  2. Oops... oh, well...
  3. http://www.tv.com/video/15055/dances-with-wolves?o=tv&tag=show_summary;v Yeah, baby!!!

  5. http://www.bpmdeejays.com/upload/hs_sal_in_Harlem_100108.mp3 I guess there really are stupid people, not just stupid questions.
  6. Having experienced an activity similar to that first hand... I'd rather buy something from ANYbody, thank you!
  7. Only if I needed to... take care of some competition...
  8. There are those that might think there's a dig here. There is NOT, period. A guy posted this on the steel forum where I'm a mod, and I found it hilarious. I just wanted to share it. [ame]http://fr.youtube.com/watch?v=FTLwiccIOxI[/ame]
  9. I think Dave Ramsey's got it; feel free to send it to your legislators: ---------------------------------------------- Years of bad decisions and stupid mistakes have created an economic nightmare in this country, but $700 billion in new debt is not the answer. As a tax-paying American citizen, I will not support any congressperson who votes to implement such a policy. Instead, I submit the following three steps: Common Sense Plan. I. INSURANCE A. Insure the subprime bonds/mortgages with an underlying FHA-type insurance. Government-insured and backed loans would have an instant market all over the world, creating immediate and needed liquidity. B. In order for a company to accept the government-backed insurance, they must do two things: 1. Rewrite any mortgage that is more than three months delinquent to a 6% fixed-rate mortgage. a. Roll all back payments with no late fees or legal costs into the balance. This brings homeowners current and allows them a chance to keep their homes. b. Cancel all prepayment penalties to encourage refinancing or the sale of the property to pay off the bad loan. In the event of foreclosure or short sale, the borrower will not be held liable for any deficit balance. FHA does this now, and that encourages mortgage companies to go the extra mile while working with the borrower—again limiting foreclosures and ruined lives. 2. Cancel ALL golden parachutes of EXISTING and FUTURE CEOs and executive team members as long as the company holds these government-insured bonds/mortgages. This keeps underperforming executives from being paid when they don’t do their jobs. C. This backstop will cost less than $50 billion—a small fraction of the current proposal. II. MARK TO MARKET A. Remove mark to market accounting rules for two years on only subprime Tier III bonds/mortgages. This keeps companies from being forced to artificially mark down bonds/mortgages below the value of the underlying mortgages and real estate. B. This move creates patience in the market and has an immediate stabilizing effect on failing and ailing banks—and it costs the taxpayer nothing. III. CAPITAL GAINS TAX A. Remove the capital gains tax completely. Investors will flood the real estate and stock market in search of tax-free profits, creating tremendous—and immediate—liquidity in the markets. Again, this costs the taxpayer nothing. B. This move will be seen as a lightning rod politically because many will say it is helping the rich. The truth is the rich will benefit, but it will be their money that stimulates the economy. This will enable all Americans to have more stable jobs and retirement investments that go up instead of down. This is not a time for envy, and it’s not a time for politics. It’s time for all of us, as Americans, to stand up, speak out, and fix this mess.
  10. Gotta be from "The Onion"... right?
  11. Stay away from B.Franklin. A buddy's wife used to work for them. She's hip to the overcharges...
  12. Hey, y'all... this Friday, the 26th, 9pm gig at Pellissippi State Tech outside Knoxville. Balloon races for the day, then us... float on in, if ya can... artist is Laura Bryna. BTW... http://s117.photobucket.com/albums/o54/Steelharp/Saiga%20223/ Factory pic. I've had some work equipment crap out on me, and I need to raise funds. The rifle comes with everything as new, plus two 30 rd mags, a 20 rounder, and a scope bracket. It has been fired two rounds. That's it. I don't want to sell it, but I just have to. Asking $400 for the whole thing. I can bring it with me to Knoxville, if any of you are interested...
  13. Now, THAT's funny right there! Thanks...!
  14. It was somewhere in the 6 or 7 hundreds... I remember when I finally bumped to 667, because... well, one less is just BAD!
  15. Verbal, a sincere thank you for the last response. I mean that. I, too, am disturbed by the direction that some have taken in my simple informational post. If you'll notice, I posted another terse and to the point comment in the thread. I hate that Mars chose the path he did. Whatever his reason, it is always a permanent fix for whatever temporary problem is at issue. Just sad, period.

  17. Sigh... it's usually more fun when I get eaten...
  18. Verbal, I... uh... "appreciate" your response. Don't know why you're directing that at me, but I hope it helped you. I never thought this was a bad place. Ever. Tungsten, thanks. I do appreciate you looking into it.
  19. Great. Love the new look, but I had to re-register. Guess all my old stuff is gone, eh? Went from Senior Member to Freshman in one fell swoop. Can I do that with my life, too? That'd be great... EDIT: My old posts say "Guest." Any way to get it all merged back together?
