  3. Y'all see O dancin' yesterday? DEFinitely white.
  4. From the editorial staff of the London Daily Mail The London Daily Mail 3 January 2009 Obama's victory? A victory for the hysterical Oprah Winfrey, the mad racist preacher Jeremiah Wright, the mainstream media who abandoned any sense of objectivity long ago, Europeans who despise America largely because they depend on her, comics who claim to be dangerous and fearless but would not dare attack genuinely powerful special interest groups. A victory for Obama-worshippers everywhere. A victory for the cult of the cult. A man who has done little with his life but has written about his achievements as if he had found the cure for cancer in between winning a marathon and building a nuclear reactor with his teeth. Victory for style over substance, hyperbole over history, rabble-raising over reality. A victory for Hollywood, the most dysfunctional community in the world. Victory for Streisand, Spielberg, Soros and Sarandon. Victory for those who prefer welfare to will and interference to independence. For those who settle for group think and herd mentality rather than those who fight for individual initiative and the right to be out of step with meager political fashion. Victory for a man who is no friend of freedom. He and his people have already stated that media has to be controlled so as to be balanced, without realizing the extraordinary irony within that statement. Like most liberal zealots, the Obama worshippers constantly speak of Fox and Limbaugh, when the vast bulk of television stations and newspapers are drastically liberal and anti-conservative. Senior Democrat Chuck Schumer said that just as pornography should be censored, so should talk radio. In other words, one of the few free and open means of popular expression may well be cornered an d beaten by bullies who, even in triumph, cannot tolerate any criticism and opposition. A victory for those who believe the state is better qualified to raise children than the family, for those who prefer teachers' unions to teaching and for those who are naively convinced that if the West is sufficiently weak towards its enemies, war and terror will dissolve as quickly as the tears on the face of a leftist celebrity. A victory for social democracy even after most of Europe has come to the painful conclusion that social democracy leads to mediocrity, failure, unemployment, inflation, higher taxes and economic stagnation. A victory for intrusive lawyers, banal sentimentalists, social extremists and urban snobs. Congratulations America! Editorial Staff London Daily Mail
  5. I didn't know him back then...
  6. I'm not going to tell you guys any more about "Ralph"... but I will add that back in the day, he was a staunch Reagan republican. No... I have no idea what happened... I really don't.
  7. Ralph... I love ya, but you do just realize you've stated in a round about way that you're a chicken without the courage of your convictions, right?
  8. If I could find it... dang... the county by county vote map showed the election to be far more republican. The only blue areas were the major population centers, and that made those states that were geographically red swing blue. You know, LA, NY City, etc. All it takes is a +1 vote in any area to make it go one way or the other. Look at our own Naifeh, Jr. fiasco.
  9. The 36 is great... as long as you don't plan on hitting what you're aiming at...
  10. Well, you won't like these... don't forget, there was... someone, who was it now?... between Reagan and W... --------------------------------- NY Times, September 30, 1999 Fannie Mae Eases Credit To Aid Mortgage Lending By STEVEN A. HOLMES In a move that could help increase home ownership rates among minorities and low-income consumers, the Fannie Mae Corporation is easing the credit requirements on loans that it will purchase from banks and other lenders. The action, which will begin as a pilot program involving 24 banks in 15 markets -- including the New York metropolitan region -- will encourage those banks to extend home mortgages to individuals whose credit is generally not good enough to qualify for conventional loans. Fannie Mae officials say they hope to make it a nationwide program by next spring. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits. In addition, banks, thrift institutions and mortgage companies have been pressing Fannie Mae to help them make more loans to so-called subprime borrowers. These borrowers whose incomes, credit ratings and savings are not good enough to qualify for conventional loans, can only get loans from finance companies that charge much higher interest rates -- anywhere from three to four percentage points higher than conventional loans. ''Fannie Mae has expanded home ownership for millions of families in the 1990's by reducing down payment requirements,'' said Franklin D. Raines, Fannie Mae's chairman and chief executive officer. ''Yet there remain too many borrowers whose credit is just a notch below what our underwriting has required who have been relegated to paying significantly higher mortgage rates in the so-called subprime market.'' Demographic information on these borrowers is sketchy. But at least one study indicates that 18 percent of the loans in the subprime market went to black borrowers, compared to 5 per cent of loans in the conventional loan market. In moving, even tentatively, into this new area of lending, Fannie Mae is taking on significantly more risk, which may not pose any difficulties during flush economic times. But the government-subsidized corporation may run into trouble in an economic downturn, prompting a government rescue similar to that of the savings and loan industry in the 1980's. ''From the perspective of many people, including me, this is another thrift industry growing up around us,'' said Peter Wallison a resident fellow at the American Enterprise Institute. ''If they fail, the government will have to step up and bail them out the way it stepped up and bailed out the thrift industry.'' Under Fannie Mae's pilot program, consumers who qualify can secure a mortgage with an interest rate one percentage point above that of a conventional, 30-year fixed rate mortgage of less than $240,000 -- a rate that currently averages about 7.76 per cent. If the borrower makes his or her monthly payments on time for two years, the one percentage point premium is dropped. Fannie Mae, the nation's biggest underwriter of home mortgages, does not lend money directly to consumers. Instead, it purchases loans that banks make on what is called the secondary market. By expanding the type of loans that it will buy, Fannie Mae is hoping to spur banks to make more loans to people with less-than-stellar credit ratings. ----------------- Warned you you probably wouldn't like the facts.
  11. http://www.comcast.net/articles/news-politics/20090117/POLITICS-US-VENEZUELA-OBAMA/ Anyone figured out they just want us DEAD, regardless of who's in the hot seat? Sheesh...
  12. I'm sure he will. I doubt the cat has his tongue. He's probably working tonight, and won't be back on here till tomorrow. He's a friend, but I can't explain his positions, either!
  13. He is a personal friend of mine, highly educated and very well respected in the Nashville community. He has a differing opinion from the majority of us, and it should stimulate some very interesting conversations. He is NOT a troll.
  14. Ralph is a gun owner, and avid shooter. Trust me.
  15. I personally assure you, he is not a troll.
  16. My daughter never wears a jacket to school because they're not allowed to.
  17. What guns? I sold all mine...
  18. Ok, so where's the Glock? Never mind, I can tell by the posts...
  19. The kool-aid strong in this one is... hmpfh...
  20. I always thought Terri Merryman was a hottie... so is Amy...
  21. Possible frozen pipes, thousands of kids flushing, inadequately insulated portables... there are other things than snow/ice to consider...

  23. All these models are new. How long has the Glock been in production? 1985? As I said before, every gun was new at one time. What were the Glock issues at the beginning? Give a new gun a 20+ run of production, and it should fare better then, too. Folks say the SR9 is internally a Glock. It should be fine for you, then, if that's the case?
